8/11 Random/Awesomeness thread

I've been painting our house this week (the renos are SO close to done!) and today will hopefully be my last day of it. So, I decided to stay up after LO's 5am feeding so I could do her diaper laundry and get started nice and early. Had breakfast, made coffee... it's now 7am and I haven't gotten started yet.

Babe had her vaccines this morning which was so awful to watch. Now she has been sleeping nonstop all day. Anyone else's baby respond to the vaccines with crazy napping?

@lcgroenewe my first did that.  Slept awesome and all the time for two days after each set of shots.  Judging by Charlie's first set...not so much this time around.

My MIL called and gave me a guilt trip about us not going to visit her. I'm not sure what she wants me to tell her. It's DH that doesn't want to go, not me, and I'm not forcing it.

@Lcgroenewe‌ W had her shots yesterday and she slept the entire day. So much different than DD1 who cried for an entire day lol.

First night in his crib was a success! I cried when I moved everything from our room to his room and then cried again when I put him to sleep. I was super surprised I cried so much, so sick of hormones. Oh and him not sleeping in the swing was no big deal so all more worrying was pointless.

Seriously all the stressing I did about this was pointless, it went great. He is currently napping in his crib. DH now likes to remind me of how I was a crazy person last night and I need to calm the f- down , I agree.

Oh I forgot to mention seeing baby on the night vision camera made me have nightmares about him being a weird scary demon baby, not cool. I am so beyond sick of these crazy dreams.

I am sorry, I was crossing my fingers for you last night. I don't have many suggestions because I have no idea what I am doing but I will say that our LO wasn't able to sleep on his back due to some reflux issues and we got some baby Zantac and now he can. That is the reason we had him in the swing because he sat more upright in it. Our LO didn't have any of the other signs of reflux except for the inability to sleep comfortably on his back.

Edit because I sounded like a dick at first and that was not my intention at all.

@skamber - hugs. Don't feel like that! Someone else (@flerlgirl) mentioned moving the swing/rnp/whatever into their room for a few nights transition, maybe that would help? Was the fussing like, crying fussing or just moving around, settling in fussing? I let LO fuss for a while and he seems to be settling himself down Give it a few nights and try again but don't feel bad! Fwiw I was really sad last night when lo didn't wake up because I missed him. There's no winning!

@skamber‌ - I told my pedi that he couldn't lay on his back for very long and we thought it was reflux and he said ok here is an rx. Reflux in babies is really common.

@skamber & @taymiller - luka also had reflux and the Dr have us a prescription. We never had to use it though, oddly enough things just got better in their own. BUt it's totally common skamber and I wouldn't hesitate to do what you got to do!

I don't know how long is too long to let him fuss but sometimes he'll go 20 minutes before either passing out or crying. I chance it.

Another 'tip'I got on here was to do naps I'm his room first, bedtime routine in the room, etc. Get them more comfortable in there. That helped us, too

Don't beat yourself up. It's a hard process...and I think they're still kind of young, like too young to force it. She'll get there when she's ready!

On day seven in the crib and the first night my husband had to let ME "cry it out".  It was so weird and hormonal.  Now, I just obsessively watch the monitor for half the night.  Sleep has actually suffered big-time (on my part, he is getting 6 uninterrupted hours in the crib).

@Internationalkate‌ - omg that was me too, DH thought I was crazy. He didn't let me keep the monitor on my side of the bed otherwise I would have looked at it all night.

The baby that I had to instruct CPR on is improving!!!!! They took out the breathing tube, and so far he's breathing on his own. I'm not really a religious person but I have been praying for this little guy, and seeing that update made my day.

I just realized that this board is forever. All the boards I was on before were boards you graduated from like TTGP, TTTC, IF, etc. People were always moving on. But we are all together on J14 for the long haul. (Or until TB ends our board.)

I'm not sure if this is right thread to post this but.... My LO rolled over to her tummy for the first time tonight! She woke up at 4:30 for her second MOTN feeding and I found her laying on her stomach, I'm not sure for how long she had been sleeping like that.
I'm happy about her new achievement but is this one more thing to worry about? I can't get any sleep now thinking she will do it again and will not be able to breath. Anybody else? Am I overthinking this?

@mrsay When they have the strength to roll over, tummy sleeping is safe. DD preferred to sleep on her stomach. We couldn't have kept her on her back if we wanted to.
