@MegEL85 Sell it on eBay! Mine is currently going for $45 with 2 days left. I am banking selling all our old baby stuff on eBay. So much better than local b/s/t groups!
ugabamafans I wear my motherhood maternity pants to work everyday still. I can fit into my pre-pregnancy pants but these are just so damn comfortable I don't see the sense in digging the others out of the closet. It's not like you can tell they are maternity pants and even if you can IDGAF -- I'm comfortable!
Also, eat the cake!! I had a honeybun the other day for breakfast and it was wonderful!
You all may have seen my pictures on facebook this weekend. I look 6 months pregnant in the tummy! I have walked every day since and put on a yoga dvd today, lol.
I can't lose the weight either. Nursing doesn't help. Some days I want to cry about it and other days I want to eat cake and then cry about it.
I mostly just go with the cake (cookies, pop tarts, pizza, take out...)and then complain to DH about how neither of us can be accountable for our health. I feel like I try for a week, get no where or have a bad day and am back to square one.
@smhorak that sounds exactly like me. I do really good for a couple of weeks, lose a few lbs, and then get thrown off my eating plan and gain it all back! I keep complaining to DH and asking him to do this with me but he agrees and then forgets later and brings home beer.... Sigh
Feeling really really sad about being at work and not with the babe. I was doing better there for awhile but today it's hitting me hard. I really really miss my little babe and am back to not knowing how I can do this long term. It's so depressing/discouraging/defeating. I wish someone could tell me whether or not I'm doing the right thing, but I know the only person that can give me peace about it is myself. Could just cry today.

My favorite from DH is that "it's just a cookie" or "It's only one item from the fast food place" along with "I only have a small burger from the take out place, pop tats, a moderate dinner, and 2 cookies. I was healthy today!" Dude, do you even know what vegetables are anymore?

Haha! Yup I hear the same things! DH was drinking a coke yesterday and I asked him why when we agreed to cut out stuff like that this week. His response was, "at least it's not beer!" Ummmm I don't think the coke is really better for you!
@Lcgroenewe - huge hugs. I'm not even back to the office yet and I sobbed yesterday. I'm sure you are doing the right thing for your family. Hang in there.
@lest12@ugabamafans@taymiller thanks! It was getting easier but today is awful again. I don't know if it's the sleep deprivation or the persistent sickness she brought home from DC that seems to still be affecting me but no one else. Went to bed at 10:45, H woke me up DTD not sure what time, babe woke up at 1:30, babe woke up at 4:30, alarm went off at 6. :( Got almost nothing when I pumped this morning and then just sat at my desk crying. Professional huh?
does anyone else have that one friend who was your best friend before you had kids, but now that you have kids they just don't get it? I'm dealing with that right now and she's showing her BSC and I don't want to listen to her complain about me, to me anymore

What is it that she's just not getting?
TBH now that I do have a kid it annoys me that my friends used their kids as excuses before, since I feel capable for the most part to do whatever. It boils down to they just didn't want to be bothered IMO.
Mother of the year likes to experiment on her babies. Gave my four month old the end of a French fry to gum on. Dude was totally blissed out happy with it. He didn't manage to eat any, and it was an at home baked one. Starting him young!

she doesn't understand that I don't want to bring my kids to her house to hang out and play and chat because she has drug paraphernalia everywhere and doesn't even try to put it away. BUT SHE BOUGHT THEM TOYS. @-)
she's also upset that I'm trying to make new mom friends and I'm making her feel like she's not good enough for me anymore. I told her I still want to be her friend, but she can't be my only friend and my toddler needs social interaction with other kids sometimes.

Totally legit. That's super inappropriate. I am still stabby that my MOHs didn't come to my bachelorette party because of their kids. Now that I have one, super lame excuse. You can get away if you want to. And by no means was it an outrageous party. Just some bar hopping in a college town. You can choose not to drink.

Hope everyone else's day is going great!
Your night was spot on with mine if it makes you feel any better! I have no clue why he has refused sleep at the exact time I've gone back to work.
Random thought about BM: I'm pretty sure with A, I had a bit of a lipase issue. My milk would be sour smelling after 3-4 days and the frozen stuff smelled sour/soapy/weird. But A drank it all so I just didn't worry about it. I figured it'd be the same way with S but my milk smells way better with her and I don't notice the difference between fresh and frozen milk. I would have thought that lipase activity would be the same but apparently not?
I didn't have the lipase issue with my dd. Not sure why I did this time around. Maybe its different for every pregnancy?
@diagonalley I have totally turned into that person that doesn't do things anymore because of LO. I'm missing my best friends Bach party but it's in vegas. I'm ebf and didn't want to have to pump there and drain my stash for the weekend. I'm leaving LO for the first time next week with my mom to start feeling more comfortable leaving her so I can see my friends. All of my friends are no where near ready for kids either so I feel like a boring old mom now.
Totally legit also. Neither of them were nursing and both were SAHM at the time, and the party was driving distance.
@diagonalley because I find it amusing to watch their little faces when they try new things. It's silly, but I figure a minute of sukcing on the end of a French fry, carrot, piece of chicken, whatever can't hurt. I did the same with C.
Eta, he is also opening his mouth for food when I eat, so I didn't just shove it in there. I also will not start actually feeding foods for him to eat until he is ready.

I'm all for babies exploring, but for me, four months is too soon. Granted, I'm not planning on feeding Max any types of food let alone explore until he's at least 6 months old. How do you assure they don't ingest any? Or choke on it? Too risky for my personal comfort.

I'm all for BLW, and for taking joy in watching LO experience the works for the first time. I can't wait when he's had multiple foods to see what he thinks about tasting a lemon wedge. However, that will be when he is actually eating foods.
And I will not do it just so I can post about it on a public forum.
Yeah, I don't do anything "just so I can post about it on a public forum". It's not hurting him to taste new things. He's not actually ingesting enough to do any harm.

Because I am the one holding it and I can tell the difference between when he is licking and sucking or biting. I know how much went it and I know how much came back out. To each their own.
I personally don't think @Lilygrace48 did anything wrong. It's the end of ONE french fry. And the potato would essentially disintegrate in his mouth. I know of people who started solids at 4 months (with their pedis supervision) and their kids are fine.
I won't be introducing solids til 6 months, but if others choose to let them suck on something who am I to judge? It doesn't affect me and my baby.
Considering all the crap a four month old puts in their mouth...I ain't concerned about a french fry.
I gave Murphy a taste of my apple slice, he sucked on it. I am not planning on solids until 6 months but it was there and I decided to let him lick it, no harm done.
@Lilygrace48 my mom pulled out my brothers baby book the other night and we realized that she started feeding him some solids at 4 months (applesauce, bananas, etc.). He's over six feet tall, coaches football and is in college. I don't think it harmed him any :-) also i totally agree with you I love watching my LO explore new things! The other day she stuck her blanket in her mouth for the first time and her face was priceless!
He had some strawberry Popsicle last month. Also, I started C on solids right around four and a half months because she was ready. I'm really not that concerned. The shit she's eaten since then, both because I gave it to her and because she found it on the ground...fries are the least of my worries.
Wasn't judging, just asking why based off of my knowledge of current recommendations. If my mom had her way Max would have been eating solids a month ago. Like @Lilygrace48 said, to each their own.

Sorry, everyone. "Mother of the year" is usually a phrase used in sarcasm, like "d'oh, can't believe I did that!" and the like. I didn't know this was a serious one :-)
Not serious, more like a "heh, look what I let my kid do". Stuff that isn't "approved" but also isn't going to hurt them.
@Rachel5130 I have never heard that, which means nothing. I also tend to ignore a lot of that advice because so much of it seems so arbitrary and for most you can find the exact opposite advice as well. Give peanuts early to stop the allergy, avoid them forever to avoid the allergy. Meh. I'm also sleep deprived and crazy, so any advice I would follow has probably been forgotten. The only thing I do follow is no honey before a year because they can get really sick.
