Re: ***Sweet Pea Check-in*** 9/9

  • @marissa6609 I haven't had an ET yet but my paperwork says I will get valium. I haven't ever taken it before but I've also heard it is to relax you a little. Hopefully it doesn't relax too much that it makes it hard to hold a full bladder  ;)

  • @viola27‌ I told my mom the test day was one day after when it really was, and that I made a mistake on the day.

Now we don't tell anyone any details or dates. Gl!
  • @viola27‌ I don't tell anyone anything except two super close friends.  I stopped telling my MIL during the whole testing phase because she started calling every day to ask how I am doing.  We finally told her that we were going to stop all of the baby stuff until after we buy a house in the spring.

I stopped telling other friends after my first cycle got cancelled.  It just hurt too much to say the bad parts out loud.

  • Congrats to all the ERs and ETs today! There's so many! Wooooo @Pintobean !!! FX for everyone!

I am going to be an AW, I just got our fert report.... 26 eggs... which is why I feel like hell.. 21 were mature, but only 9 fertilized normally :( I guess we had even more of a MFI than we thought. The nurse even said we knew we were dealing with a pretty significant factor.. I honestly thought we were just not ideal for IUI, and in an awesome situation for IVF.  We're hoping that these are all perfect little embies though.

Side note: Did intense bloating post-ER leave anyone's ribs hurting? It almost feels like I need to go to the chiro and have them popped back into place (a normal thing for me) but it is making me short of breath. Buying a cheap walmart scale to keep an eye on weight!
  • @meld42 9 embryos is still a good number to end up with! Fx they develop beautifully

Official diagnosis: Unexplained IF. I am 32. I have low ovarian reserve (low AMH), and poor egg quality. I've also been diagnosed with mild glandular developmental arrest (lining problems, detected with EFT).

We are using open ID donor sperm. IUIs #1-7=BFN. IVF September 2014 antagonist protocol, 8R,5M,3F, 5 day transfer of 1 morula = BFN. IVF#2 planned for January 2015 (antagonist protocol + HGH).

  • I'm sorry @meld42‌ but 9 is still a good number. I was very uncomfortable after ER, but not the feeling you are describing. It wouldn't hurt to call your nurse and ask, and defiantly get a scale.
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • Thanks @emmuffy and @pintobean ! I suppose I was misunderstanding what a good number was, and I'm worried that some will stop developing etc. I don't know what the likeliehood of that is, to be honest.

I did call my nurse this afternoon, she just said to keep an eye on it for now. Can't help but be worried of OHSS!
  • @MSU_girl1202 I did a couple wheatgrass shots when I was trying to thicken up lining for my IUI. I was also on drugs from the doctor though, so I don't know how much can be attributed to the wheat grass!
  • @meld42: Hmm, interesting. Haven't tried that one! I'm on a pretty good dose of estrace (judging by how I burst into tears whenever I see puppies or someone looks at me the wrong way), but I'm trying every 'superstition' I can find to thicken my lining since they're planning to do ET 4 days earlier than they usually do b/c of scheduling issues and I'm just hoping my lining will be ready by then.
Will definitely go look for some wheat grass this weekend!!

  • @CMH25 Is tonight too early to POAS?  ;)

I'll probably wait a week, if I can handle it. Easy to say right now, when my nerves are calm. I remember hCG wearing off fairly early last time, but this time I triggered with suprefact and they gave me an extra dose of hCG right after the retrieval, so I assume I'm scared of a false positive. It seems odd (and cruel) to make you wait til day 15? I guess it's on the safe side, in the end. My clinic stopped putting in their instructions to not to POAS - I think they know everyone does it anyways!

Regularly access alternative medicine to supplement a lack of resources in our geographical area.
    • Three rounds of clomid (50mg days 3-7) were useless.
    • IUI#1 w/clomid & HCG in May 2013, BFN.
    • IUI#2 w/clomid & HCG on July 23rd. BFN.
    • IUI #3 in August cancelled last minute, due to lab error.
    • IVF#1 - Started Gonal F stims October 13 2013 for IUI. Over-responded with too many follicles, so converted to IVF. Retrieval October 29th - got 5 eggs, 4 fertilized. Had 2 perfect little embryos transferred on day 3 (Nov. 1). The remaining 2 didn't survive to freeze. Got our BFN on November 13th 2013.
    • IVF#2 - Started stims August 21st. Triggered with Suprefact, started on dostinex due to risk of OHSS. Retrieval September 5th - got 27 eggs! 21 embryos on day 3. Embryos deteriorated quickly. ESet 5day blast on Sept 10. No embryos high enough quality to freeze. BFN came Sept. 22.

Reserved a semi-known proven donor in August .

Waiting for consult/screening and protocols with estimated fresh cycle timing in October

  • @Rcvb22‌ that's an awesome number to make it to blast. FX for some good results.
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • @emmuffy hope you're feeling better. Stick to Gatorade over water to ease bloating. 4 of our 5 embies are still growing and the top 3 are going in tomorrow. I'm worried about them in that lab overnight!
Ready to take the road less traveled.
