@bears1011 The procedure was pretty easy, with the IV being the worst part. I blinked and was back in the recovery room. They said it was twilight sedation, but I don't remember any if it. The woman on the other side of my curtain said she was awake, but only felt a small pinch. I'm a little crampy now, but nothing Tylenol can't handle. Just sleepy and tired so I'm resting and reading.
Hi ladies!! Wow, there are so many PUPOs!!! That's so exciting!!! I am officially stimming! Is it still called stimming when you're taking estrace for FET? It's going okay so far...not great. Had a crying breakdown at work today of all places, and it wasn't at all fun. I was so excited to schedule my transfer though...September 20th will be the big day, as long as the ultrasound and blood work on the 15th are okay. Hoping that the emotions stabilize before then...

Hi ladies, you can move me to the PUPO group. I had my ET yesterday, we did an elective day 3 transfer. Our embryos were slow to start but theee of them really took off from day 2 to day 3. My last clinic was mandatory blast transfer but we almost never had a blast. So the thinking is that maybe we will do better transferring on day 3. FX. [-O< Hugs and love and luck to all who need it. Imma go have some ribs!
QOTD: My parents. They raised me with such a good example of love, hard work, and partnership that I hope to be able to pass on someday. Sniff.
Holy moly this group is HUGE. So many opportunities to learn!
MeatandBandPSo sorry about your CP. Good for you, getting back on the horse.
Take care.

I can completely relate to the indecision and panic when it comes to
IVF. It's a big deal and it's not easy. Trust that whatever you
choose to do is best for you. I was waiting for almost 4 years
before trying it too, and I don't regret it at all (but I know I
personally would have regretted it if I hadn't).

Congrats on being pupo! Enjoy the ribs!
So I had my ER today and... it. was. excruciating. My last ER was 5 eggs and I tolerated it pretty well (they use ativan and fentenyl to 'take the edge off' but you are totally awake). This time, they got 27 m*therf*cking eggs! It was like surgery without anesthesia - I was bawling for the last 1/2 of it. We drove the 3.5 hours home after - I managed to sleep most of the way, despite the pain - and now I'm tucked into bed (it's 6pm here, lol). I'm still at high risk for OHSS, but the nurses said that using Suprefact as a trigger and Dostinex should help, but if I develop OHSS, they will force us to freeze all and transfer later. I know this doesn't seem like a big deal, but it's HUGE for me because I used up all my sick time to have this full cycle off (I can't work post-transfer, due to the physicality of my job and my stress tolerance). Plus, it's really not a great idea to plan trips to the clinic between October-April in our province, as the roads/weather can be extremely unpredictable in winter. Please cross your fingers & toes that we escape the dreaded OHSS!
QOTD: My biggest influence, besides my parents was a social worker I met when I was considering entering the field as a teen. She's amazing and accomplished and she taught me so much before she retired.
30 yrs, healthy & TTC since April 2010
DH 32yrs & healthy
*unexplained infertility*
Regularly access alternative medicine to supplement a lack of resources in our geographical area.
Three rounds of clomid (50mg days 3-7) were useless.
IUI#1 w/clomid & HCG in May 2013, BFN.
IUI#2 w/clomid & HCG on July 23rd. BFN.
IUI #3 in August cancelled last minute, due to lab error.
IVF#1- Started Gonal F stims October 13 2013 for IUI. Over-responded with too many follicles, so converted to IVF. Retrieval October 29th - got 5 eggs, 4 fertilized. Had 2 perfect little embryos transferred on day 3 (Nov. 1). The remaining 2 didn't survive to freeze. Got our BFN on November 13th 2013.
IVF#2 - Started stims August 21st. Triggered with Suprefact, started on dostinex due to risk of OHSS. Retrieval September 5th - got 27 eggs! 21 embryos on day 3. Embryos deteriorated quickly. ESet 5day blast on Sept 10. No embryos high enough quality to freeze. BFN came Sept. 22.
Reserved a semi-known proven donor in August .
Waiting for consult/screening and protocols with estimated fresh cycle timing in October
IFinTN OMG, "vag cam!" That's absolutely hilarious. I needed a good laugh.
GL and FX for all of you ladies!
But, this group is TOO big! I wish I could "get to know" more people like the Sparklers group and find a buddy or two that is at the same place I am. Oh well I'm sure there's a buddy or two buried here somewhere. Here goes...
I started stimming for IVF#2 on Wed with Menopur/Gonal. Lupron is new this time, but it's a really easy injection so far and no side effects yet. LOTs more injections this time- 2 in the AM and 2 in the PM.
Almost had to bring my meds to school to inject in a bathroom for Parent Night! Yikes!
US showed 13 follies on Wed, but too small to measure. Headed back to the RE for BW/US bright and early Sunday morning!
@Rcvb22 awesome fertility report, I've been awaiting a report.
@Jzyla 27 eggs, that's a lot. FX for good fert report and that you don't get OHSS. My clinic also recommends v8, they say it seems to help more than Gatorade.
On my mobile so its incredibly difficult to mention everyone! Congrats to all the PUPO and GL to those prepping, stimming and scheduled for ER/ET
AFM, had my transfer this morning, I'm PUPO!! Whoop whoop! Transferred 2 beautiful embies. Now the terrible 2ww, but I am grateful to have made it this far. Anyone else transferred today? QOTD: Def my gran, my mum and I have a very turbulent relationship (she does not even acknowledge our fertility struggles), I do wish my gran were around to support us.
Wow, so many updates and we are still getting new sweet peas!
@MeatandBandP so sorry about your cp. I had one in early August. It was really awful. I'm glad you get to start again so soon though. Starting again was the only thing that made me feel better. FX we never have to go through that again! I hope this month will be it for both of us.
@siempre595 big congrats for being back in the game. It can really be a roller coaster sometimes.
Congrats to all the PUPOs and those with great reports! GL to those waiting for reports after ER and getting ready for ET. There is a lot of action right now. I would also like to give a shout out to everyone still prepping and stimming - it takes a lot of patience. Hang in there, you will get there soon!
AFM not much to update since my crazy transfer day. I'm 2dp6dt and trying to stay sane. Monday I have bloodwork to check hormone levels and I will confirm date of beta. Last time it was 9dp5dt, so I'm wondering if we can do it a day early since it was a 6dt. Lots of ups and downs with how I'm feeling about things.

So I'm happy to say that my underachieving ovaries are defying the odds and going for a come-from-behind follicle-making victory. While two days ago the nurse and RE said I wasn't likely to make more new follicles, my ovaries seem determined to prove them wrong - I am showing new small follicles and more growth in some of the earlier smaller follicles, which are now approaching mature territory. I may end up with 5 or so mature, which is less than many other ladies but certainly a vast improvement from where I was a few days ago. Thanks for all the fx and keep em crossed!!
Congrats to all those who are PUPO! I hope to join you soon.
Official diagnosis: Unexplained IF.
I am 32. I have low ovarian reserve (low AMH), and poor egg quality. I've also been diagnosed with mild glandular developmental arrest (lining problems, detected with EFT).

Congrats to the newly PUPO!! This group is moving right along! More of you have moved to stims as well and that is also great news!
I saw some great ER numbers and fert reports. I am so excited for everyone.
Welcome to the ones that are now joining our group!!!
I want to say that I am mobile all weekend but I'll get everyone updated/added as soon as possible. I can check on everyone with my kindle and reply from my phone. I have a Blackberry and it's not so smart. My friends call it a mildly clever phone.

Hi all! I'm new to the group, so I'll tell you a little about me. But first, I'm soooo excited to read about everyone else's stories and how similar they are to mine. Good luck to everyone and I'm looking forward to following your stories!
So I'm turning 41 next month, and my husband and I got married a year ago. We've been trying for the last year---the past 6 months via ART.
We're in the middle of IVF #1. I was on Gonal-F (300!), Menopur (2 vials, then they upped it to 3 vials), and ganirellix. I also started taking a synthroid about 6 mos ago because my TSH was a little high for IVF (it's now around 1.0). We did our trigger shot on Wed night---get this---at a Yankee game (against the Red Sox--we had to go)! Yep, I was imagining how I might have to explain the shot wrapped to an ice pack in my bag, next to some sandwiches, before they confiscated the needle and kicked us out. But luckily, that didn't happen. I was able to trigger my ovudrel right at 9pm.
I've also been going to fertility acupuncture.
Friday was my scheduled ER. I had the most follicles I've ever had--9! Out of those, 7 were mature enough to be ICSId. Out of those, 4 didn't fertilize but 3 did! So we have 3 Day-1 zygotes.
I always try to stay positive, but I have to say that yesterday was really tough and I had a few crying spells (unusual for me). I know it only takes 1, but being a control freak, waiting until Tuesday to find out if any have continued to grow past Day 1 is beyond agonizing. If at least 1 has grown to blastocyst stage, then Thursday will be my ET.
So, what has been keeping me sane is, "it only takes one". Please keep your fingers and toes crossed for me and my husband, and perhaps some prayers, too!
I got my fert report back this morning. 5/6 eggs were mature and 5/6 fertilized! Now... I am not sure if this is normal or not, but I will not get any updates until Thursday at my 5dt appointment. (My dr only does 5 day transfers and doesn't check them before then (?)) It's going to be a long week!!!

Thank you all for your support, but unfortunately none of my eggs have fertilized.. I will have to leave the sweet peas group earlier than I thought but I hope to be able to try again next month.
I just got home from my ER. They got 10 eggs! I am uncomfortable but it isn't bad. The nurse told me it might got worse tomorrow. Good luck to everybody!
@marianass - I'm so sorry and praying that you get better results next time. My thoughts and prayers are with you!
I've been slow to post my update because I don't really have any news to report. My transfer is tomorrow but I haven't gotten any update from the embryologist since my fert report. I've just been miserable and bloated the past few days and so sick of Gatorade.
This is such a large group and I'm posting via my phone today but I'm enjoying reading everyone's posts and hoping for good news for those of you with upcoming retrievals and transfers. I'm happy to see our Pupo growing and have my fingers crossed for all of you!
