So, I asked my H yesterday if he had thought of any names. He comes out with "Quorra" for a girl. Seriously? Nope, vetoed. Ugh. This is going to be an interesting process.
I'm about to leave for my first teacher day back at school. My days of lying on the couch and bumping all day are over :-(. Let's see if I can last all day.
This weekend was my SIL's bachelorette. We were at the beach for about an hour and I fell victim to the overcast skies. The back of my legs are burnt to a crisp and of course the worst part is the back of my thighs. Makes a desk job extra super exciting today.
I am so constipated. And the fact that I have shit backed up to my eyeballs makes me feel pukey. I spent my entire weekend laying on the couch and the idea of sitting at my desk all day makes me want to cry.
@SNLT1012 ugh, that's the worst. I will randomly get constipated for 2-3 days then get to go, then back again. It's such an uncomfortable feeling!
We had a fun, but packed weekend...and we are supposed to head down to Key West to visit friends this weekend. I'm wondering if I have the energy. As of right now, it sounds exhausting - maybe when they hit Happy Hour, I'll hit up nap time.
Good luck to all the appts today!! What's for breakfast.....I've been hungry like all night but was too lazy to get up and eat something. Happy Monday y'all. I join the bunches of us that doesn't wanna go to work.
After a weekend of resting and not feeling all that bad, I woke up this morning at 5:10 from a nightmare about losing the baby and couldn't go back to sleep Now I'm at work with the worst nausea I've had in days and the beginnings of a headache, and I'm utterly exhausted. Only 8 1/2 hours til nap time...
Wishing everyone good luck at appointments today! First day of middle school for my DS, and I think I'm freaking out more than he is. Oh, I have found my own personal Heaven in the form of harvest cheddar sunchips and cream cheese. I must buy more after dropping DS at school! Hope everyone has a great day!
My random is that I've been heartbroken since Saturday. I woke up to my fiancé watching the Today show at the exact moment they do a story on a new consumer report about tuna consumption by pregnant women. Apparently tuna is much higher in mercury than originally thought and instead of being able to have it in moderation, we should now avoid it altogether. Goodbye, Subway tuna sandwiches (
On a more comfortable note, I was sent a bag of maternity clothes this weekend by my fiancé's cousin, and have embraced the comforts of maternity pants.
ETA: good luck to all the ladies with appointments today!!
Oh, almost forgot, I had a double appointment on Friday, didn't get to post anything about it because I was traveling this weekend but everything looks great. Baby was rolling around up in thurr but we got a good snapshot on the US. I'll have to post it later, baby may or may not already have DH's nose.
So we told our parents and sibblings this weekend, they were all very excited. We had to stress to MIL that this is NOT facebook news, she literally would have posted something right then and there...REALLY?!? Once I told her that we weren't saying anything to anyone but the parents and sibblings she understood it was not for any sort of public/social media consumption but I was real worried at first. I also had to be very firm in reminding her not to post cutesy baby shit to my wall and to email anything to me instead. SIL is getting married in two weeks so we're going to wait until after the wedding to start telling other friends/extended family because we don't want to steal their thunder.
My sister was super cute. She was double checking I was remembering to take my vitamins and making sure I was hydrating. She even asked me if the baby has ears yet and if I've been talking to it.
@pmv81 Jealous of your possible trip to Key West. That is my happy place. And can't wait to hear about your appointment later!
@mauibliss Yeah, that one got to me too. My MIL was all up ons about eatting tuna this weekend and my SIL (who is a nurse) was like, "Ummm, you should let her just listen to whatever her doctor told her because things are VERY different from when you had babies."
@heyitsmamac I only like the DD pumpkin spice, the Sbux one is too...idk...tangy?..for me. But pumpkin pie, scones, doughnuts, etc. also clutch.
@darbie914 Kicking ass and taking names, yay for a great appointment!
"Serious is only something you have to be until you can be silly again."
I have another random....my Grandpa turned 92 yesterday. My family is out in CA and went to see him so my brother Facetimed me so I could tell me....our conversation went a little something like this.
"HI Grandpa <insert small talk>, we wanted to tell you we are having a baby girl, you're going to be a great Grandpa again!!!"
@Darbie914, hell no, you're not leaving!!! Haggard troll bishes foreva!!!
Ok, ladies, I need some help here on this one; loooong post ahead.
My husband's work did away with cash bonuses last year and now, they send the employees on a quarterly all-expenses paid trip with one guest. The trip is to San Diego this quarter and it's this weekend. Three months ago, before I knew I was pregnant but when I knew I would already be in NC, I told H, hey, don't worry about me, you go and have fun. No. He insisted I come. They still hadn't booked the flights when I found out I was pregnant so again I told him, seriously, last time, everyone drank in the ski lodge the whole time, I don't think it will be fun for me. Nope. He wanted me to go. And said that there were a lot of activities to do and it wouldn't be like last time (last time, I also developed a nasty flu and spent most of the trip in my room with a 101 fever while he drank in the hot tub with his female coworkers...I digress).
So he told me we have to fly back to Phoenix because they chartered a bus to San Diego. Ok, fine. So he sends me the itinerary today.
It's a fucking PARTY BUS and it was optional. The other east coasters are flying directly into San Diego. So....he's having me fly into Phoenix a day early and then sit on a damn bus for a day the next day. And here's what it says in the itinerary: "Bring your booze, people!!! We have the beer bong and will bring the beer. You all bring the shots! If you want to sleep, tough shit!!!"
Great. So I read the rest. We have to do Drunk History. Everyone the first night is being given a topic, and has to do three shots before giving their presentation at the mandatory dinner the first night. Second day is fishing. Ok, that's cool. Oh, wait. Everyone is required to buy at least two drinks on the boat; "We don't want this to be boring, people!" Ok........fun. That night is a surprise bachelorette/bachelor party for their boss and his fiance. And I quote "Ladies: get drunk, get obnoxious, get fun!!! Let's do this!!! Loud and proud, ladies!!! Don't forget your pink boas!!" Ok...this is getting better and better. Sunday is horse back riding. Ok!! That sounds cool! Oh...it's in a winery...with a wine tasting afterword......Sunday afternoon is "Day drinking at the beach lounge!!!"
And he doesn't get why I am mad. Not only do I feel bloated and gross next to his completely gorgeous skinny coworkers but they also tend to be really mean to non-drinkers. They got mad at me for being sick last time and said how boring I was being and really bringing the vibe down.
So, I've cried about this stupid trip twice and now I just don't want to go at all and he's super mad at me about it.
Tl; dr. My husband is making me go on a booze trip with him despite me saying I didn't want to and him promising it really wasn't a booze trip.
DO. NOT. GO. Tell your husband no. There is absolutely no way this can end well. There's not a chance in hell you are going to go and end up having such a great time, despite not drinking! The only possibility here is that the two of you end up in a giant public blowup fight. Just say no. You don't HAVE to go.
@MauiBliss - What does your husband do? The you can't drink stuff aside (which totally blows and I would be crying too), I CAN'T IMAGINE an employer sponsoring a trip like this. My guess is pharmaceutical sales?
My random -- I found out yesterday that one of my best friend from high school has been on bed rest in the hospital for 3.5 weeks. They want to keep her on bed rest for another 9+. She is having twins, due in October, but one of the amniotic sacs ruptured nearly a month ago and now she has to keep completely still. She seems upbeat per her Facebook messages, but I'm trying to figure out something to do for her. I haven't seen her in years, though... Maybe a bouquet or gift basket? I know what hospital she is at.
I am about to go buy honest company diapers from a lady at $10 a pop. I looked up the prices per bag, which is $13.95? But if you buy the bundles wouldn't that be about $10 a bag? I feel like I am about to get ripped off. Idk.

@mauibliss...I'm with @wendyld - Don't GO! And don't feel the slightest bit bad about it. AND, tell your husband he has NO right to be mad at YOU. Your comfort and well being should be his main concern and clearly he wasn't thinking that when he opted for the party bus. I would be so pissed off at my husband, and would refuse to go. Nothing good will come of it.
I'm also surprised at how intense the company is about making each and every event centered around getting wasted. I love a good party, but no thanks!
@MauiBliss -- Advertising was my second guess. If I were 22 and could drink like a fish, it would sound like the best trip ever. I'm so sorry you are in such a tough spot. Can he tell the company you had a medical emergency? More spotting and doc said don't fly for now? Surely you/he can't be looked down on for a medical issue?

If she has an iPad, I would buy her an amazon gift card so she could rent movies, or buy books. That or food. I love anyone who would bring me food that wasn't from the hospital.
I just got a big public congratulations from a coworker who I guess had heard I was pregnant, but obviously didn't hear that's not the case anymore so now I'm hiding out, trying to choke back tears at my desk. Fuck today.
So I just told him, that fine, I will go. And I will "have fun"; I do care about his career and stupidly, I care how we appear to these people so I will go and be gracious. But, we are going to Nordstrom tonight and I am buying a whole new vacation wardrobe for this trip. He had no choice but to agree.
So, ladies, what absolutely non-essential things do I need for this trip? I am thinking I clearly need a new bathing suit and sarong.....I definitely need some Sperry's for the boat....a new dress for the dinner out.....I think I need to buy some new books for my Nook....maybe sunglasses. A beach bag.......
Am I being passive aggressive? Yes. Do I give a fuck? No. And I am bringing ALL the junk food snacks on the bus. And I'm NOT sharing.
New pants for horseback riding? Definitely a sun hat. Something linen for casual time. I would get two new swim suits. You'll want one for the boat ride and for beach day.
@MauiBliss just don't go. For real, that's a nightmare trip, and you need to put your foot down. If your DH can't wrap his brain around your point of view, too fucking bad for him. He can drunk pout the entire trip where you don't have to see it

10$ doesn't seem like a good deal. I can go to Kmart right now and grab a bag of pampers or huggies for 8-9$. Yea, Honest IMO are better than Huggies, but 10$ does seem high. Tell her you only have 8$ and you can't get change. LOL
the fact that I have shit backed up to my eyeballs
I just almost blew my breakfast out of my nose. That line cracked me up. But I'm so sorry you're so miserable and I've been constipated too, so you're not alone!
@CityBee When I was going to post about my breakfast I was going to describe it as amazeballs too lol. And I wish we could see a pic of your bloated mustardy self hahaha.
@MauiBliss I like your doctor. Also, you cracked me up with the description of the upcoming company trip. ZOMG sooo much drinking.... I hope you feel well and have the patience to put up with so many drunks around you lol.
@Darbie914 woooo fellow April 1st due date!! But never leaving M15 dammit!!
Ok I'm going to post this and then go where I left off and reply some more. My phone is frustrating..
((Big hugs)) I'm sorry your coworker said that @wendyld
My NT Scan is this morning. I'm excited, but even after last weeks wonderful u/s I'm nervous too. I'm glad DH is going into work late so he can come along with DS. We all got sick over the weekend so hopefully the good news of this NT scan will brighten our day.
