Just finished up reading this mess of a thread during my insomniac episode this evening, and now I want a snack. And by snack, I mean everything anyone mentioned. All the carbs! And some twizzlers for good measure.
I don't do direct sales. As I've said before, I started my own company that hes become very successful. I didn't have a huge client base to start out with, but I made it work because I was going to stay at home when my oldest was born. I work during nap/rest time and in the evenings. It's not my kids fault they are on this Earth, so why should I deprive them of the ability to stay with their mother who is suppose to be their to nurture their child?
Just to make sure I'm understanding...
According to that last sentence, don't have children if you cant stay home to raise them?
That is not what I am saying at all. I just don't like people saying they have to work and can't be a stay at home mom when they haven't tried every option. There are some mothers who do better in a structured work environment and get to go home to the baby when they are off work. I didn't say that makes them any less of a parent. If they want a more cushioned easier life by going to work, that's their prerogative, but don't give the bs that being a sahm isn't possible.
What is your problem and how were you raised? How have you become so judgmental and tactless?
I am not the one who is tactless. I am raising my children the same way I was raised. I come from a family who prides ourselves on our hard work ethic, ability to overcome adversity, and raise our children to not be complete screw ups who will bring down what is left in the world that is right.
So you think raising your children to be judgmental bigots is a good thing? Yeah, be really proud of that.

I just gotta point something out (not going to quote her or tag her)...
"Well my DH has a doctorate and would be a little more noticeable if he
decided to become a stay at home dad. If nothing else, it would suggest
he wasn't a good enough doctor."
Doctorate typically refers to a Ph.D., not MD. and Ph.D.s don't refer to themselves as "doctors," other than by formal title, unless he or she is a complete douchebag. That is enough for me to say she is not real.

That's the first thing I thought too! But I wasn't gonna point it out because I only have a BS and my husband only an AA degree, so I figured there was a good chance I was probably wrong. Cuz we ain't smart.

He doesn't have an MD, but he is a licensed doctor and has a doctorate.
I'd also like to add that Bill Gates does not have a college degree and I find it hard to believe anyone would have a problem with their child marrying him because his lack of degree is "embarrassing"
ETA: I know many people with degrees that are are useless at life, and many people without who rock at life. A degree doesn't prove you are worthy of anything
I would have a problem with him or all the other tech bubble guys. What can you say for the kids of any of the people who dropped out of college or didn't go? How many other people dropped out and are living off nothing?
I found a GF donut mix online, finally. I have been craving donuts since the minute I got pregnant. It was so delicious.
please, divulge where you found this elusive item!

@jennyhatt I think it's pretty obvious most of these arguments are pointless, but I admire how you can be part of them without becoming irrational and petty.
@AggieMom0809 I'm sorry you're constantly being attacked. I guess you and I are 'trolls' since we don't agree with the masses. Last time I checked, going with the crowd never led to anything amazing.
Either way, yeah this thread has gone on too long. I won't be a SAHM but I'm not siting here cursing anyone out for putting me down. I wish I could be with my kid full time, but in the end, a stable income and savings account is going to be worth more to him than me hugging him 24/7 while I watch Netflix.
I've been reading my Weight Watchers pills upside down all these years... Turns out they're actually Ms... As in M&Ms. I knew I was doing something wrong...
@ExcitedMama2 I'm sorry I'm not on here every minute of the live long day, like you are. I have a job. But if the title of the post is SAHM then someone turning it into a donut post is not my fault.
Also, it's ironic that you all felt attacked just cause I wouldn't change my mind about a baby shower, but people calling me small minded, rude, and ignorant doesn't count as attack. It's called disagreeing? Can you please educate me so next time I disagree with my boss I can sink to your low level and see if he agrees with your 'crowd'?
@ExcitedMama2 and the comment I posted wasn't even directed to you. So you can mind your own business and let me have my conversations with other people in peace. Quit arguing over nothing. It's not your board so you don't have to monitor thoughts and opinions as if we are living in 1984 and you are the only one that counts. Geez.
I want to Make these raspberry sweet rolls but I don't have any yeast in the house and DH accidentally took the car seat with him to work. We'll just have to eat breakfast casserole and leftover cake.
@BookitBoo-- I HATE when we accidentally leave the car seat in DH's car. It's like "I didn't HAVE to go anywhere today, but OMG NOW I NEED TO AND I CAN'T!" haha.

Speaking of, though, I am also out of yeast...
We share a car .... Sad.

First world SAHM problems.
Can you fake it with the biscuit dough (in a can)?
@ExcitedMama2 okay, since you have a freak thing for causing drama i will give you your moment in the spotlight. You can also go on facebook and cause drama there.
I will reference whomever I would like, if it's directed to them, is my point. So chill out please. If you want to jump in I will just ignore you next time, that's how we teach kids to stop doing something, right?

I don't know, I've never done that! Does it work?
I've tried faking other recipes... I make monkey bread with the can, but there's enough sugar to cover up the savory-ness of the canned dough. I think the raspberry would taste better homemade. Unless........ You used the cinnamon roll dough- that might be sweeter. I love experimenting in the kitchen... Lol that sounds naughty haha

@ExcitedMama2 right back at you. Stop getting so offended about everything and anything! I'm not upset people disagree with me, I have my own thoughts. But let it be fun instead of yelling at me to stay on topics with a non-donut donut thread.
And no, I can have them every once in awhile but during this pregnancy baby has created an aversion to sweets for me. I can't even eat chocolate, it makes me gag just thinking of it. The sweets I can handle are fruits and sometimes ice cream.
This is me most days. But all of you ladies baking, thumbs up to you in all respects. My mom almost started her own bakery before I was born yet failed to ever teach me anything relevant to the art. I still burn pre cooked cookies sometimes
FYI, if your in a serious donut mood and out of ingredients, you can pop a hole in the middle and fry the canned biscuit dough....delicious with cinnamon sugar or a quick powdered sugar glaze!
5 IUIs and an IVF
It's all worth it for Baby Boy, born 9/30/13!
What do you know, Baby Girl just popped up! Due 1/2/15

I'll have to wait then because I only have a can of biscuits. It's so rough!
I like pizza, not donuts. Sorry?
