Re: Longest Thread EVER! (aka Random Thoughts Thread )

  • DS only took a half hour afternoon nap, which I can usually get 1 1/2 hours from, so I am putting him in the car and going shopping. I'm banking that he will fall back asleep in the car or mall. Hopefully.

DH uses his all the time.  I don't drink coffee so I can't really say more than that!

My sister used to use one, they loved it. I think it may have broken though, and now they have a vacuum one. It's pretty cool to watch!
  • I have puppy fever SO bad. Like, maybe my fat cat will run away so I can have a puppy. Err...

Ahhh I do too!!! DH and I actually had the "new puppy" talk, kind of like the same talk we have when we are thinking about another kid lol. Looks like we may welcome a new one this winter.

  • DD still hasn't rolled...she gets on her side and stays there for a bit, but always flops back over to her back. No signs of even going belly to back, either.
  • DS decided to forget that he knew how to roll and was rolling all over for a week.  Now he just wails.

  • No rolling here either. He was trying really hard though today.

  • When DS gets up from his nap I need to go say goodbye to my neighbor and BFF here.  That's one of the worst parts of the military, meeting people just to say goodbye.  I made her a big batch of cookies for the drive, I figure she'll need them, driving with a two year old!

On the other hand, who knows what the future holds, right?  We just found out that when we move in January, we'll be stationed with our neighbors from Alaska again.

@hlm184 I have a magnet to keep my sewing straight. Works great for hems and such. For bigger things I just eat the time and use a meter stick and tailors chalk. I have this model machine:

Edit: this is not my machine but the same model. Mine's not as pretty. The decorations are long since gone. And my desk is very plain.
  • @kendraColeslaw - I'm not sure yet. We know we want a female because our male would pair better with one and we want another xlarge-giant breed. Dh wants big and fluffy and he gets to take the lead on this one since our current pup is pretty much mine and I picked him. DH would love a wolf hybrid again. He rescued one before, but I'm not real sure about that with young kids.

How does the magnet work?  I think my problem is that I can't cut straight lines.  I feel like if I had a big table I could use a straight edge and chalk.

Yeah, I wouldn't go down the hybrid road with kids either. You could get a Newfie! My mom is actually looking at leonbergers because she loves newfies and mastiffs and they look like a mix!

I love Newfies too. I suggested the breed and he is going to look into it. We may end up with another Leonberger.

  • Spent the afternoon tending an injured baby bunny. By the time the wildlife rehabilitation people got back to me it was too late. Poor bunny.

Well today has been a wash. LO has only taken ONE 30-minute nap today, not exaggerating. She's never done that before. I need to cleeeaaan!! But I'm stuck on the couch.

Aryssa will only nap laying on me today. So much for getting anything done. The dog somehow shredded two diapers all over te bedroom and i wanted to go to target
  • Hours of entertainment (or five minutes at least): Sit LO up next to a guitar and let them "strum" the strings.  DS was utterly fascinated!

  • I was noticing today during tummy time how small most of the blankets I got as gifts really are now that she has done some growing. What can you do with so many small blankets? Other then donate I mean

Question for those that pump in the car (here's looking at you @mrscrcalli if you are ever around) -- how do you put on the seatbelt?

Put seat belt on first then plug yourself in.

Reusable wipes?  I just put a stack of the plain, not special ones in the sewing room for that reason.

  • I guess you could make a quilt with the smaller blankets or for the uncoordinated like me , you could just use them as car seat /travel blankets

  • How do you say the name Coe? Is that a nickname? Is that rude to ask in the hairy thread?
  • Co? Or maybe co- ee

Someone asked me how to spell Drake the other day . As far as I know there aren't any alternate spellings
