  • I'm starting to think that maybe my 2 year old has insomnia. He was up for 4 hours last night and just couldn't go to sleep. So sleepy this morning.

I'm pretty OCD about cleaning and my house . We have too much house for us and also 2 large dogs so it's like a battle I can never conquer . I feel like I can stay on top of everything to my liking easily but then I feel guilty that I shouldn't be cleaning or doing other stuff while my son is awake . But then I think I can't engage him very minute that he's awake either .
And then I feel guilty for that and find myself exhausted because I run around like mad trying to get everything done before he wakes . Also have zero time for yourself with this method of " time management "

Sorry just what's on my mind and wanted to get it out there .
I totally am right with you on this one.  My OCD can be really debilitating and as organized as I am, I have trouble with time management and prioritizing.  I just try to be relaxed and accept that I can't get everything done- at least not all at once.  I have to remind myself the cleaning can wait, our LO's grow up fast and we won't get those moments back, it's not worth it to miss out on LO's first giggle because I'm vacuuming.  I'm not going to remember if the laundry was done on this day 10 years from now.  You don't have to entertain your LO every second of the day either though, if he is content in his swing or lying on his activity gym, by all means, sneak in some cleaning.  The moments we do have to ourself are few and fleeting, so we do have to choose among everything we'd like to accomplish.  I find I'm worse for the wear if I try to take care of everything else around the house before myself all the time.  It's ok to take a shower or paint your nails (or eat something!!) during LO's naps even when the house isn't picked up.  Sometimes self care can give you the burst of energy you need to tackle more things efficiently the rest of the day.

I 100% related reading your post... It sounds like you also clean to manage anxiety?  Spending a day with your LO without bothering with the housework (other then picking up as you go) is the best kind of cognitive
    therapy, really!

Thanks so much @knotty-girl‌ for your thoughtful reply.
You re awesome . I' m sorry that you can relate and yup cleaning is my drug sometimes

  • This is my first RTT post! Just because I wanted to complain about how I got my first pp period and it is fucking terrible. Add to that my anxiety about going on a 4 day work trip today, and I am a hot mess this morning.

AW: I just turned an old t-shirt into a nightgown for A! I put snaps on the bottom for easy diaper changing access.

This is the first presentable article of clothing I have ever produced. I've made awesome quilts and other stuff, but sleeves always got me before.

All his other sleep-sacks are either fleece or flannel and too warm for FL summers. So, now he has a nice lightweight one.

Time to raid DH's closet for more old shirts!

What an awesome idea!!! I have an awful time with sleeves too!!

I started with this tutorial: https://thismamamakesstuff.com/tutorial-rockin-baby-gown-t-shirt-refashion/?cuid=afd56f4cfb855c30e7fbe75f88a984c2 Attached the top of the sleeves, then sewed a continuous stitch from the wrist, through the armpit, to the foot.
I've got to try this.  I have a billion concert tees that I have come to terms with never fitting me again after having a baby.  I already had it in mind to give them to LO at some point.

I miss title face. This baby never did it. I was so looking forward to turtle face.
  • Sick baby, cuddly day. We are supposed to have thunderstorms again today so we're staying in. Don't want to get rained on. Having said that it probably won't rain.

  • Going back to work this week and B starts daycare tomorrow, so I'm letting her take all her naps on me today.

I'm "wall punching" angry that I have to go back. I wonder if I'd feel different if I was solely a choice rather than a financial need to return or if I worked in a different field. I hate that someone else will be watching her while I spend my time with other people's kids. DH and I had a good talk about our 1 and 5 year financial goals/plan.

I wish there was a store like platoes closet that sold nothing but old tshirts. I feel like that's all I wear now lol

  • Every time I take a bath my dog Zira peeks over the edge at me and she looks so ridiculously cute. Last night I remembered to bring my phone into the bathtub with me.

    Adorable

  • A Facebook friend just posted how funny it is that her two month old ate chocolate pudding for the first time last night. Apparently the baby's grandfather just had to share his dessert because "the baby looked like he wanted some sugar". WTF?!?! @-)

I want to jump in the TARDIS and go back in time and see how raising babies has changed since the beginning.

Lovetitting for the TARDIS reference and because I'm totally curious too.
