If you guys could send some prayers/thoughts/positive vibes to my high school friend that would be awesome. Her 2 year old daughter and neighborhood friends were playing out in the yard this past weekend and the car at the house above theirs popped out of gear and rolled down the hill and ran over all of the little kids. Luckily she only fractured her L5 But has to wear a back brace for a while. If the brace doesn't work then her 2 year old will have to have back surgery. What's crazy is my sister just moved out of that neighborhood a month ago and it could have been my niece out there with them. The owner of the car turned herself in and is out on bond.
And this is why my kid will never go outside or leave my side.
Just kidding...maybe?
But really, that is so scary. Thoughts for everyone involved.
Today is our third anniversary! Two kids, lots of laughter, some tears...I guess I'll keep him . This weekend we're going to make wine at at Incredibrew and go out to dinner. I'm so excited.
I grew up on an island. At the age of 26 months, I finally managed to take C to a beach...and it was a lake, so not a real saltwater beach. I'm a failure, but she had so much fun and my friend watched both kids long enough for me to swim a couple laps. Damn it's been a long time, I need to get in shape.
Has anyone used probiotics for LO? I read it's supposed to help with the spitting up/puking. It was expensive and I am just wondering if anyone's had successes... Can't remember if it was discussed before.
When I got my new job, we knew we were going to try to get pregnant so I bought a pregnancy hospital plan through the insurance to cover the cost of the hospital stay. According to the paperwork, I had to have the plan for 9 months before delivery and I was short a few weeks so I didn't think I qualified. My employer encouraged me to apply anyway. Well, I got an email last night that they are paying me and it's way more than we thought. It covers the cost of my hospital stay! We've had a lot of financial struggles this year and this helps more than anyone can know. This has lifted so much stress off my shoulders!!!
On our way to C's allergist appt to see if we can pinpoint what she reacted to last time. I am so anxious. I know they are prepared and use tony amounts of everything, but I worry she might have a nasty reaction and actually need the epipen. Sigh. Doesn't help that dh made us leave later than I'd have liked, so now I'm anxious about being late, too.
@rachelnjacob - we used Gerber Soothe probiotics for DD for about a week. The pedi recommended them because DD was having tummy issues due to antibiotics (we had thrush). I didn't notice too much of a difference but she isn't a puker/spitter upper. The first night she took them she slept for 7 hours straight though so I thought we had found the golden ticket, but alas, no. They are expensive but may be worth a try if your LO is having issues. GL!
Also, is it too early for a glass of wine? Its 10:45 here but it was a looooong night and DH is traveling. I'm torn between going out to buy donuts or wine.
My garden is producing really well this year despite extreme neglect! Looks like I'm going to get huge amounts of zucchini. Anyone have any good recipes with zucchini I should try?
Also, I'm not sure how I'm functioning... I haven't had any coffee yet today.

Go to skinnytaste.com, I have tried a few recipes there are they were awesome. Thanks @ugabamafans for that awesome recommendation (or at least I think it was you)

I love baked zucchini chips sprinkled with parmesan. The Barefoot Contessa also has a really good recipe for zucchini pancakes.
I don't really do the siggy challenges, because as you can see by my ticker that says I'm 45 weeks pregnant, I can't handle the technicalities of updating my siggy... so I sometimes miss the threads, but always enjoy the pictures.
Well, I missed the August thread and keep seeing the pictures and thinking it is a picture of the bumpie and/or her husband making this parenting fail, then posting a picture of it. Super confused lol.

I has lice in third grade. It was awful. My mom slathered mayo on my scalp. I'm truly terrified of lice now. Good luck!
