I love watching Teen Mom, but I really question whether Jenelle was pregnant. She has posted pics of her at the beach in a bikini less than a week after delivery. Something just seems off with it.

Teenagers :-w
Actually a 30 yr old friend of mine had twins and a week later was playing soccer and had killer abs. X(
Well then, those people suck! I would like their genes please!

Whoa! One week post partum I was like... Still am, now that I think about it!
C didn't fall asleep on our way from the library this morning like she normally does, so I fed her lunch and decided to enforce quiet time. I read her two books in her room and said she could play quietly, read, or sleep, bit she had to be quiet until I came to get her. She's 26 months. She proceeded to turn on her fan and turtle light, read to her baby doll, and put herself down for a nap! A two hour nap! She's still sleeping. I got a nap, charlie got a nap, I'm fucking amazed and will be doing this every day from now until she's 20.
Well breastfeeding just got that much shittier. LO was just diagnosed with cow's milk protein intolerance so no more dairy, or soy for me. ( He had a couple diapers with tiny spots of blood in them.
This is probably a stupid question, but I can't figure it out. What do you do with your baby while you eat dinner? C is fussier in the evenings so dinner time is hard. Either H or I have to hold him while the other eats. I'm ordering a sling so perhaps that will help?
@ricecakes1216 - we have been eating at the coffee table... ds goes in his mamaroo with a pacifier and I cross my fingers while shoving dinner down my throat hoping he doesn't lose his shit, lol.
What should I do for some friends who have a baby in the NICU? He was born at about 32 weeks and is doing well, but probably won't be going home for another month.
Thinking of some kind of care package that I could drop at their doorstep? Not sure what would go in it...
Any thoughts?
Food, or gc for food nearby. That was the thing that I didn't even want to have to think about when LO was in the NICU, but obviously had to eat because I was nursing (and you know, survival)

@lalala8 - gas cards, gift cards, water bottles are all good. Hand sanitizer and snacks are also good ideas! And just ways to help them relax. If you know which restaurants are near the hospital maybe do gift cards from there because they won't have to go too far but can still have some time away.
Thanks for the thoughts. We try his swing, bouncy chair, mombo, play mat. All these things normally keep him occupied except when it comes time to eat. Everytime I get food he gets needy. I just want a hot meal! I ordered a sling so I'm hoping that will change my life!
I started reading the Percy Jackson series this week. Who was talking about this the other day? I want to say @LilNunz1 ?
@Rachel5130, that was one of my confessions. I hadn't read the 50 Shades books because I was too busy tearing through the Percy Jackson series. Sorrynotsorry, but I loved it! And thankfully LilNunz also liked them too. I'm working my way through the next series now.

Is it kind of like Harry potter, where it starts off real kid-friendly and slowly gets darker? I'm enjoying it so far (huge fan of mythology), but I'm feeling odd reading about a 12 year old. I don't even remember what it's like to be that young. Edit to remove tags.
Yes, it's like HP in the getting darker sense. It also starts out slow in the first book because of the back story but does pick up. I blazed through the last book in 1.5 days while reading at work (due to a slow period) I couldn't just stop and wait. The adult in me is a little embarrassed to admit how disappointed I am with the movies. If the screenwriting had stuck more to the books, this could have been a great movie franchise. But such is life, it's just so so
LO went from hating the k'tan to loving the k'tan. He passes right out when he's in it now.
So nights like tonight when he's super fussy, I use it to calm him down. He's been fast asleep for 2 hours and I don't know what to do. I am afraid to move him so instead I'm just sitting here drinking wine.

@Rachel5130 I totally believe you. are you religious? you could have someone come bless the house. you could smudge with sage, you could have everyone else leave the house and have a one on one conversation with her. tell her all about P and how the things she (the ghost) are doing make you upset as a new mother. if she was a mom/grandma/aunt etc. she should understand. or you could leave her alone and see if she stops. those are some things I would try.

do I sound crazypants now?
I was also going to say have someone blessthe house!
@stephross88 You have a sage source? Is there a background story?
haha not really. I've just smudged before and that's where I got it from. just thought I'd help a sister out since not a lot of people are familiar with smudging or where to get sage but I think it works.
@Rachel5130 my parent's old house was haunted. The ghost tried closing the garage door on me, turned on all the burners on the stove while we were sleeping, and a lot of other weird things. My mom put crosses in every room and there was never an issue again.
B is a super SS today! we just went in for what is *hopefully* his last weight check before his *hopefully* last GI study tomorrow and he is up to the 41st %ile for his weight! that is such huge progress since at his lowest weight in the hospital he was in the 3rd %ile. I'm just so excited for him!!

Dd was like this too, she started loving it when I tried a different position. Now when she's super fussy, I put her in the K'Tan and bounce on the exercise ball and she crashes out in minutes. She wakes up though if I just sit on the couch, so I just put the ball next to the coffee table where I can reach my Kindle and glass of wine and I'm golden.
I left LO with DH and ran errands for three hours by myself today! It's the first time I've been away from LO since she was born. It was glorious, I left ready to shoot someone and came back a totally different person! It's amazing what a little alone time can do for a person.
I need to do some errands and I was going to walk with the baby in the tula. It's hot out, would it be wrong to just keep the baby in a onesie only?
@elsa1688 my LO is always in a onesie, whether we are at home or out and our average temps have been in the 80s. I would say your LO will be fine!
Wait am I supposed to be putting pants on my baby?
Lol ok, ok ladies! A onesie it is. I usually put some pants on him if we are out (usually a diaper only at home if it's hot). I wasn't sure if id get side eyed in public.
Re: *7/17 Random Awesomeness Thread*
ahhhhh YES. she was definitely pregnant she had bump pictures all over Instagram. I would seriously die if she was on here.
Well then, those people suck! I would like their genes please!

@otter1103 How are you liking Heroes of Olympus? I've read all 4 that are published. I loved it!
Good thing the weather is cooperating because I plan on spending the whole day at the zoo with my kiddos
Seriously though, sorry you are dealing with that. That is freaking scary!
