My issue with pumping is finding time. I'm a SAHM, and I have both kids with me all the time. I have to make sure both are entertained, happy and content for the time it takes me to pump, and then feed Jonathan (if he is awake). I'm not producing enough to have a stash yet, but I probably could be if it weren't such an ordeal to make the time to pump. Someone invitaby has a meltdown as soon as I get a good spray going and I have to stop and soothe a child before I can go on. For 3 measly ounces (for a good pump!).

At 2 today, I was set to stop everything and just formula feed. It's 3:30 now and I'm content to keep pumping. I hate flip flopping. No one way is better to feed your child, but if I stop pumping it's over once my milk dries up. UGH! And then I'm like "maybe I should just actually bf again instead of pumping." Oh my head.

Maybe set a time limit for it? A month or six weeks or something. Then you can stop with less guilt and say, "he got bm for his first month". That's how I deal with it with my first child.

@litera Agree to disagree on that. I would gladly go back to my college full B cups. I hate having to worry about my D cup boobs and how to dress with them (actually probably E with nursing).

Ditto!! I wish I could snap my fingers and go back to my A cups ASAP. I loved my small boobs - loved not having to wear a bra if I didn't want to, loved not having my boobs smush up in my face while sleeping on my stomach, being able to fit them in smaller shirts, etc. I think DH likes my bigger boobs but I personally am not a fan!

I'm going out to dinner with my girlfriends tonight and planned on taking the baby, now the Inlaws insist on coming over tonight and DH wants me to leave the baby home with him and them and I'm slightly freaking out about it all

The president of my company just asked me if I'm "dilated."  Air quotes and all.  I can't even.

Um...wtf. I just wanted to say wow-you're a better woman than I am for even being at work right now. Screw all that noise.

Wow, just wow....I hate that being pregnant allows people to ask those uncomfortable questions. On a normal day would I tell you about my organs or would I tell you that I'm having funky discharge and may have lost a mucus plug....don't think so, so don't ask.

  • Just got back from the doctor, looks like we are headed to the hospital to be induced! OB is concerned about the excess amount of fluid.. I just picture my water breaking and gushing onto the floor and there are fish flopping around and a little crab scoots by!

Zoey might be riding out of the birth canal in a canoe! Either way, any good vibes would be totally appreciated!
    Good luck!!!!

  • I take special pleasure that Mil visibly shudders over Milo's last name. We blended Mister's 1st syllable and my 2nd syllable to create his last name. She also is extremely bothered that we didn't circ.

Wait I'm confused. His last name?
  • I forgot Gilmore Girls existed. I just started season 1 episode 1. How could I forget about Dean?

Yep. We combined our last names for him. I don't want to post ours, but something like Williams+Engelbrecht = willbrecht.

Psshh... THIS. C/D to E with DS... Now I'm in the H/I range. Do you even understand how hard it is to find a 32H bra! I look ridiculous with this rack with no chest to fit them. Makes no sense whatsoever to be this ginormous. I can't wait to stop BF and they drop a couple sizes again (fingers crossed).
I told DH I want a reduction.. A 32C works for me! He was sad but he understands. He also says I should start my own bra business with all I have learned about bras, fit, etc. after I grew so rapidly after DS. Lots of tears to say the least. The joys of motherhood!

Dserpaa I'm still sore and wasn't normal with each till about 3 months out.  It hurts, but I don't absorb suture correctly so that is part of my problem.  I hear most people feel pretty normal by their 6 week check-up.

@summerlovin314 not everyone is a fan of them but they really helped me. Lilypadz stop the leaks altogether rather than absorb them like nursing pads do. I would alternate between the two usually Lilypadz during the day and regular nursing pads at night just so my nips could get some air. They also help a little with nipple soreness. I also added a pump session in the morning the help with the engorgement when DS was a week old. This time around has been much easier because I went straight to what I did with DS and didn't have as much of a learning curve to deal with.

Next week we're going on vacation to our family cottage in the Adirondack mountains. Super excited, but packing for a 4 week old is a PITA. We have to pack hot clothes, cold clothes, and there's no washer or dryer. This child will have a bigger bag than me lol.
  • A conversation that just happened:

Banker lady: can I help you?
Me: I would like to open up a savings account for my baby girl.
Banker lady: you want to open an account for the baby in your belly?
Me (with a "you're fucking kidding me face): she's nine days old.
    Banker lady: oh.

    1. This is why I don't want to go out in public right now
    2. I'm going to kill my husband for making do this before I was ready.
