Early FFFC regarding 50 Shades: I read that a lot of women got pregnant while reading them (I guess it helped the relax and enjoy sex?) so I read them a few times hoping it would help. It didn't. Neither did Magic Mike... Although that may have just been for me.
Magic Mike didn't live up to the previews/trailers. It was depressing and slow. It seemed like it was trying to be artsy? I don't know, but there should have been more dancing and it should have been much funnier.
+1 to not reading 50 Shades. I also couldn't read the Twilight series. Too cheesy.
I read 50 shades and I sort of enjoyed them, but since then I've read much much better bdsm erotica (with way healthier relationships between the h/h). I'll probably still see the movie though just because I'm curious how they will translate to film with only an R rating.
Does anyone have one of those night light pillow animals? Someone recommended it but they have a 2 year old. Baby does like staring at the ceiling fan so maybe he would like lights on the ceiling???
My random: we are out of town staying at a hotel. I was so sacked out when D started fussing this morning I thought "where the hell am I and WHO is making that noise?"
I had totally forgotten all the little places that shit gets trapped on a newborn. Neck rolls are esasy, but I forgot about behind the ears and the tiny spot between the thumb and fore finger. Gross little deposits of fluff, sweat, milk and ick.

We have a Dream Light (it's actually Cole's). We put it in Drew's room but I don't think he can see the lights yet. They're not as bright as I thought they'd be.
What does one weAr to a bachelorette party?? Lol it has been SO long since I've gotten dressed up to go anywhere, nevermind a trendy club downtown. I went shopping yesterday and was so overwhelmed. I feel too old for half the stuff, and anything I like feels like I should be wearing it to casual Friday.
I haven't had internet since July 4! Still waiting on Comcast to connect to our house, which should hopefully be the beginning of next week. I've had to rely on mobile, and DH sets up a hotspot at night when he's home since he has unlimited data.
LO and I are having an amazing sleepy day! He slept from 11-6am, napped from 7:40-10:40 and we are laying down for nap number two! I texted DH and let him know how awesome today has been and his response was "He realizes his mom is losing her shit so he's trying to give her a break so she can nap" haha so very true.
@emilyh107 losing hair pp is totally normal. Gross and at time it seems way excessive, but normal. DH hates it because I'm terrible about cleaning the drain.
@Taymiller I can totally relate- DS has kind of been on that schedule for a week now. It's amazing to finally have some sleep and a little bit of alone time. Let's hope it continues!
Speaking of alcohol. FedEx just dropped off a box of wine. Anndd I had more delivered to my sister's house to help save on shipping for her. I also live in wine country and really hope to go to a wine bar tomorrow for lunch.
My sister just got checked in at L&D to be induced! She is 37 weeks today and she has had high blood pressure for a couple of weeks. She had an ultrasound today and they realized that her baby hadn't grown since her last ultrasound two weeks ago so they decided to induce. I'm super excited to meet my nephew and to have babies only five weeks apart! Praying things go smoothly for her!
Ok. I know it's even discussed before but I've never paid attention. I have been resisting getting a wrap or sling for C. We have a carrier but it's not practical for wearing around to do chores. I'm giving in and getting something.
SIL used a Moby and loved it. My niece is/was tiny. C is a big boy; almost out of 0-3 month clothes at 6 weeks. What would be better for daily use, a wrap or sling?
@ricecakes1216 I would go with either a woven wrap or a ring sling. even though the moby says it's good for up to 35 lbs, I (and most people I know) only found it comfortable to about 15 lbs. woven wraps have a bit of a learning curve, I myself am not great at it, but i love my ring sling and so does B. we get all the housework done that way and sometimes DS even gets a home cooked meal because of it
When DH and I decided to try for a baby we had the expectation that he/she would have to go to daycare, because family watching LO wasn't an option. Well, we were wrong. Between my parents and his mom child care is covered! I don't have to pack him up or anything, they'll come here! Such a relief to know the plan for when I go back and also that he'll get lots of QT with his grandparents I'm feeling really sappy about it. I just think it's so awesome for all involved! (and my wallet )
Not sure where to put this. .. anyone else go back to work at or before the dreaded 6 week growth spurt? How did you handle it? Reading a link from the MOTN thread about the 6 week spurt kind of freaked me out about going back to work. Not sure how my body will communicate with LO to produce more milk or how my pumping will keep up if I am at work. He is a frequent nurser already so it's hard for me to tell when he has a growth spurt.
@BMaidPlanner , my fellow frequent nurser, when are you going back to work (or are you?).
GUISE. I was creeping on Parenting and apparently Janelle of teen mom admitted on twitter to being on TB for this last pregnancy. She was due in June.
Where are you, Janelle??
Re: *7/17 Random Awesomeness Thread*
@skamber - it sucks!

My sister had a tasting party last weekend and I joined the monthly wine club.

Thanks! I was leaning toward a ring sling. My messy kitchen thanks you for the input!

I had no idea babies farted so much.
