I know we have some knowledgeable dog ladies here so I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a good dematting comb/brush for a double coated dog? Basic brushing just isn't keeping up with Griever's coat.

My best friend posted a question on how to deal with her mouthy five year old, and so many of the responses were suggesting to put soap or spicy mustard in his mouth! They were serious! I've heard of it before but I thought it was anecdotal, not an actual thing. I know a lot of people don't share my beliefs about spanking but this disturbs me even more.
Yeah, I have the Furminator and that great for getting his under coat out...but I've slacked and found a few matts behind his ears. I've cut most of them down but I can't seem to brush the rest of the matt out without hurting him. I feel horrible that they got there
I might have to take him to a groomer.

@thomas930, we used a Coat King on our dog. It pulled out the undercoat and kept the wiry top coat intact. I think it's pretty similar to a Furminator. Although I like the option of a vacuum Furminator.... Like a Suckut! "It sucks...as it cuts!"

I'm taking dd and DS to one of those paint-your-own pottery places to paint a present for MIL's bday. I'm sure dd will have a ball, and I hope DS sleeps.

Omg DD was lying on the floor and DS ran up to her, hugged her, laid his head on her belly and said, "I am your big brother Zoe. I will protect you." :x I love my children! It's been a great couple of days. I think we are all finally used to being a family of four.
AHHHH This makes me want to have another baby so Dylan can do that. BUUUUT I'm sticking to team one and done
So, I have a dentist appointment in 35 mins. I already pumped one bottle. A is approaching hour 3 of a morning nap, presumably because he woke up at 5 and wanted to play.
Do I wake him up to nurse or pump the other boob and let him keep sleeping?
I'd let him sleep.

@Tferr02 have you ever heard of The Food Babe? Sometimes this chick gets a little whacky-food the deep end but her natural food product recommendations are usually very good. Also you need to look for hidden nitrates and such. For example Kraft Mac-n-cheese has MSG. MSG=huge migraines for many people. Something interesting:
I think I'm getting another UTI
Is there a way to get antibiotics without going to the doctor?
You could try calling your doctor and telling him/her. With my old provider they offered over-the-phone diagnosis.
The thing with UTIs though is that they require antibiotics and you want to make sure you're on the right one. Since you keep getting them, I would bet you need a culture (if you don't have one already). Before we got pregnant I was on 5 different antibiotics because they kept just putting me on what they thought was right for a UTI...but they weren't treating the right bacteria.
Is anyone in insurance? I'm so confused. I'm pretty sure my oop is $5,000. And from my eob it looks like I've paid $4,100 so far. Today when I called the lady said I still have $1,800 till I reach my max. How is that possible?

No I have a $500 deductible for both of us, which we've met. Total of $1,000. Then $2,000 per person of co insurance. Total of $4,000. My eob says I've met $3,777 of that.
The $21,000 nicu bill is still hasn't been settled yet and I'm afraid of what we'll owe. We saved up the $5,000 just in case, but not another $1,800. That's where I'm confused. I think we should only owe another $300.
I think I'm friends with that crazy ranch troll if we're not completely certain she's not a guy. This guy is ALWAYS posting rants just like that person. Seven paragraphs of how they don't serve sweet tea in North Dakota (he's from the south) and he doesn't get as much rice as the person sitting next to him, and demonstrates this WITH PHOTOS. Today he devoted just two long paragraphs about how the waitress brought two bills instead of one and should have cleared that up once they were seated.
@KatieGummow Just looking at it I'd say it wouldn't be too difficult to do, but I myself haven't actually tried. Now you've got me wanting to try and make one for Aiden to wear after his baptism next weekend...
ETA: I'm totally not getting any work done now, I'm searching for patterns...
@mom2boxers the $5,000 oop is including dd. It was $2,500 for just me. And I do have a 80/20 plan.
I have never used my insurance except for my annual before this so I'm really confused. And the lady at the insurance company confused me even more. I may call back this afternoon and see if I get a different rep who could explain it better.
I need something to do besides go to target everyday. The baristas/cashiers all know me. I guess that means I go there to much. But I hates the walmart (with the passion of a 1000suns).

This is/was me. I'm temporarily out of a vehicle which is probably a good thing.
Apparently when I said 'we should have hot dogs for lunch' DH thought I meant 'run out and buy an army-sized pack of Costco sausages.' These will last me a year! Look how effing big they are!
Lemme know if you want a quick sauerkraut recipe to go with those. We do Sassage (yes, spelled that way because we say it that way: SAAAASAAAAAAGE!!!) Sundays and I've been making a quick kraut while our real stuff is fermenting.
And I do take probiotics. Does that get rid of the infection or just prevent it?
I'll try that app, thank you!
I think prevent. Will help your LO if you're breastfeeding too (I'm sorry, I'm HORRIBLE at remembering who does what here).
Just make sure when you go back in/call to know what type of antibiotics you're on. And tell them whether you had a culture done or not. If you didn't, chances are they'll have you do one. I had to go to the ER for mine (It was 3 am and I was dyyyyyyying) and they didn't do a culture but just pumped me full of an antibiotic that didn't work.
It would just be a bummer for you to go through what I went through (incontinence, itching, burning, yeast infection from all the antibiotics, hating all of the things)!! I hope things clear up fast!
Also have you tried AZO? You might want to check to see if you can take it while BF...I know it's a no no while pregnant.

*For nursing mamas be warned that cabbage can diminish supply. I've never had an issue with it and I eat cabbage all the damn time. ETA: I have an oversupply issue.*
INGREDIENTS:
1 medium cabbage (purple or green)
1 TBSP canola oil
1 1/4 cups apple cider vinegar
1/2 apple cider
1/2 beer, hard apple cider or water
1 TBSP salt
1 TBSP stone ground mustard
DIRECTIONS
1. Thinly slice cabbage
2. Mix all wet ingredients together. Put in sauce pan over medium-high heat. Bring to boil.
3. Toss cabbage and salt in. Stir until coated.
4. Reduce heat to simmer. Cover.
5. Kraut is done when cabbage is tender or the liquid is gone.
The flavor will sweeten as it cools. Eat with all the German food.
ETA: The probiotic will help prevent yeast infections too. I recommend eating yogurt, miso soup or drinking kombucha, too! A yeast infection on top of a UTI is just insult to injury!
I'm new to RTT and I love reading it! Just wanted to share this amazballs (wait...that word was seriously in my autocorrect) invention DH bought for me while I nurse on the couch! Here's my nursing stash minus the cell phone cause that's in my hand
