@Tasha575 I got my results right away both times, like barely woke up and the dr standing there with my results. I was fine afterwards, the day before and the drink is just the worst part.
@poru@AprilMay9 as a former infant room teacher I can tell you your babies teachers are well aware the first week is an adjustment & are prepared when a new baby comes in. You get allllll the snuggles in while you are still home.
Had to take DS to the urologist for his undescended testicle and were just told to come back when he's 7 months and then he might need surgery:(:( poor little man.
On the bright side I know his weight now. 15.7 lbs at 15 weeks chunkerrr

Love tit to the chunky awesomeness. So sorry to hear about the surgery. You know where to turn to for support when it comes time.
DH left to go work on his tailgating company stuff with his buddies and of course Aiden wakes up right after he leaves. I get him back to sleep and his stupid stuffy nose woke him back up 15 minutes later! Now I'm sitting in the nursery next to the crib hoping Aiden will suck his fingers back to sleep, but so far it's not looking promising.
When do I get to go hang out with friends on a work night?! I want a turn, he does this twice a week most weeks lately (
I chickened out and didn't do full red, just copper highlights.
And then I got home and got an eob in the mail that says I owe another $1,000 in medical bills. That makes $6,000 and I haven't even seen the nicu bill yet. So frustrated because my hr lady said my oop is $5,000. This is going to be either a successful or depression call to the insurance company tomorrow...
Hi! My name is Gavin, and I roll over and over again until I get to where I wanna be! 4 months on Monday and I can't take my eyes off him for a second!
He is beautiful!

I just found out the base does "Parents Night Out" the first Friday of every month. I'm going to check into it tomorrow, FX that we can drop LO off for a few hours and go out for a fancy dinner together!
@macgrs I agree stick with low flow. When I was an infant room teacher I didn't know anything about breast fed babies and I would have made the same suggestion. Slow flow nipples mean baby eats slower which means more time consuming and when you have 4 babies to care for (1:4 ratio) time is precious before one starts crying. Stick to your guns you know your baby best.
@dani+california I know what you mean.. The nurse weighing him made a big deal about him being a big baby, which irritated me.. Our babies happy and healthy that's all that should matter right??

Just finished a 12 hour day of writing a 20 page article. Hubster made chocolate chip cookies with bacon bits and I'm going to eat all of them while I nurse and snuggle Merriwether until she sleeps (which probably won't happen because she's holding a hot air balloon amount of air in her tummy).
So DS1 neurologist today said that I need to cut nitrates out of his diet because they are a headache trigger. Two of his favorite lunches, hot dogs and deli meat sandwiches are gone now.
Welp today was one of the roughest days since we brought LO home. H is out of state, and LO has been on a napping strike this whole week. I'm talking nothing longer than 25 minutes. Today he was so overly tired; cried until he coughed and fought sleep allllll day. I shouldn't complain because he's sleeping through the night, but sheesh!
I'm just struggling with getting him to nap in the crib because that's where he'll be sleeping at daycare.
Sometimes I see people say their babies are hefty and my guy's always bigger. Then I worry I'm over feeding him...he's 14 weeks and 16.5 lbs. I know that's not massive but it seems like it's more than most! :-??
@dani+california Heavy P is 14 weeks and 17.5 pounds. It's all good, strong like Ox! Or Moose, eh?
September Siggy Challenge: What I Sing in the Shower: Little Mermaid "Part Of That World"
FFAlmostFC I signed up to bring a better than sex cake to work tomorrow. My caramel syrup is expired. I didn't realize it until after I made the cake. I used it. I am not telling anyone. I am sure it is fine?
You have to try it, so eat a piece. But you can't bring it to work with a piece missing so eat the rest by yourself and then make another for work tomorrow.

Most stuff is fine if it goes a little over the expiration date as long as it was stored properly.

Applegate Farms brand is really good nitrate free hot dogs and deli meat. Also Vons/Pavillions/Safeway carries another nitrate free brand called Open Nature.

Costco sells some as well but I didn't care for the hot dogs. The lunch meat was good. You are far better off without the nitrates anyway. There was a recent study linking nitrate consumption in children with leukemia.
I'm doing a self imposed internet/ipad strike. I've been spending WAY too much time on the internet which equates to lack of sleep. Back in a week or two!
AW: I was gone Monday through yesterday at the Lakehouse with no internet connection. These cuties had a blast! There was 927 posts that I will try to catch up on now! Xoxo
DS1 EEG came back good! He has normal brain waves! He is just a rare case of toddler migraines. He is being put on migraine medicine. And now a cute pic of my sweetie during his test.
This came up with one of my preschool students this week. He hasn't gotten a migraine diagnosis yet, but he is having the terrible headaches. His mom posted on FB about it and another parent chimed in about her sons terrible headaches and how it was related to hypoglycemia. His blood sugar would tank and bring on the headaches. With careful monitoring of his diet, he was able to control the headaches.
How did your doc come to the diagnosis? Did they run blood tests and the whole 9 yards? I read ahead and saw you're eliminating nitrates. Is there anything else you're trying? I'd like to be able to pass on the info you got so she's got something to compare it to when she does take her little guy in. Glad your sons EEG was normal!!
We did do some blood tests, but I can't remember if it was for these headaches or his other issues. He has a ton going wrong right now. Also we went to a pediatric ophthalmologist to make sure it wasn't his vision causing them. He got a ct scan a few months ago too and that came back normal. The EEG came back fine so the neurologist went off of his symptoms for the diagnosis and I have Ehlers-Danlos and migraines. DS1 hasn't gotten an official diagnosis, we go to that dr in Feb, but they think he has it too and migraines are a common problem with it. We are trying a preventive migraine medicine along with cutting out nitrates to see if it helps. We go back in 6 weeks to see how it's going. The low blood sugar is interesting. DS1 has had a few times where he starts yelling HELP from his crib and I run in there and he's shaking and unable to stand. He can't put any weight on his legs at all. The doctors don't know what it could be because his EEG was normal so I'm supposed to try and record it next time it happens.
Thanks for the nitrate free ideas! He doesn't eat very many hot dogs because I know they aren't that great. However he loves subs and deli meat sandwiches. That is really the only way he will eat meat at all. After reading about nitrates, I really don't want to eat them either! So my mom and I are going to try and find some of those brands at the store and try then out.
Dreading my prep work tomorrow for my colonoscopy Friday. A day of just clear liquids I know I'll get through it, but I've been craving a hamburger really badly.
Good luck! I had one a few years ago. Drinking the prep drink was the worst part for me. I still can't drink lemon lime gatorade :-&
@Tasha575 I feel your pain. I've had two of them and will probably need another soon. It's miserable the days leading up to it. Good luck.
Thanks ladies,
I just finished my first round of the magnesium citrate :-& It wasn't so bad at the beginning, but seemed to worsen as I got towards the end. Can't wait to get tomorrow over with.
How is the recovery after? Do you hear about the results right away?
Recovery was fine for me. The twilight sleep was so odd though. I "woke up" alone in a little recovery room with a small TV 6 inches from my face and I was watching Saved By The Bell. TMI - I also farted so much it was ridiculous haha
I went to Walgreens with my mom and DH after and besides being starving I was fine. Tey told me right away that they saw nothing too concerning and then my Doctor discusses it more at my next appointment.
Fingers crossed for you!
My check up went well. Some of the deeper burns (like my knee) are 3rd degree so they will take a while to heal. No signs of infection present and it's looking like no skin grafting is necessary! Unfortunantly, they will hurt worse as they get better but they look as good as massive, nasty burns can look. Just got to work on managing the pain, weening of the narco and letting them heal. Thanks for all the t&p!
I had my first drink since before baby last night. Also, I was able to NIP with no cover, while walking, at Costco. I'm pretty proud of this. (I am not a fan of this picture, but I am proud of this moment).
DH keeps telling me I'm awesome but his actions aren't there- it's like his life hasn't changed and since I'm handling it he can go about his day as per usual.
This is what I have been saying on repeat since week 6 (after the newborn fog lifted). Super supportive DH but when it comes down to it 100% of things in my life have changed. He's at 15%. He works same hours, sleeps all night and works out. Granted I know he tries but I get so frustrated. I am sorry @Holljade, don't worry you're not alone. I am having a convo this weekend with DH about what he can do to help me. Good luck!!

Hugs @PoppySeedWindsor! The forever thing gets me too. Like I will never NOT be responsible for this little being's life. Terrifing. And yet it does get better, or so they say
Prayers for YH's job @jodibolivar, glad it's looking good! That's impressive that they want him fo
Yay for nothing more serious at @Tferr02 and prayers that the medicine helps with his migranes!
Prayers that you can find a daycare quickly @purespark!
Thanks to my need to catch up this post took me almost 2 days to write. Oy...

Right there with you. I blew up at DH this morning and just slammed the door and left. Over laundry?! BUt really, it's more about him not caring about the things that I care about and making an effort. I think we need to have a looooong chat tonight or I'm going to lose my shit permanently.
Re: Longest Thread EVER! (aka Random Thoughts Thread )
...Don't mind me, just been love titting left and right but I couldn't let that piece of knowledge go without saying something about it...
Yes! We are obsessed with olive oil in our house... We also have lotion from there that is so amazing.

Everly is so excited to meet her A14 friends tomorrow!
