Question! During the day, do you change your baby's diaper every time he/she pees? I find it wasteful of a diaper, so I usually let her go a couple hours (basically til I see the diaper starting to bulge) but I'm honestly curious and worried that this is in poor taste and... neglectful?
Hells no. We use disposables, I only change him before each feeding. So about every 3 hours. I don't change for MOTN feedings either...worst mom ever! I feel compelled to say he's never had a diaper rash ever, in case anyone is reading this and clutching their pearls!
Same here. I change him after each feeding, which is about every 3 hours. I do not change him at his 6 am feeding because he falls back asleep. I put him in the 12 hour disposables at night so I'm not worried. No diaper rash here either.

So naturally...she puked. Then started to choke on it. Once I saved her life like a boss super hero mom she burped...then blew out her diaper all over me.
@KendraColeslaw when I worked in a daycare we had to change infant diapers every 2 hrs so I use that as my personal rule. But if he's dry or barely wet I definitely don't change him
Harley sucks at napping. We have a family function with my grandma in 3.5 hours. It's an hour drive and an hour to get the three of us ready. She fell asleep nursing. So, were going to stay like this for the next hour and a half.
It isn't great, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
Plus, she's being rewarded. She slept 9 hours straight. So, I got a full 8. Whatever you want today, kid.
Also @dani+california I second that your picture looks like a giant levitating pickle. At first glance, I was both confused and concerned.
@BiggerinRealLife I know you will ace your writing test no problem. Someday can you teach me how to use commas appropriately? I suck at commas.
Um.... I missed my writing test. Apparently I no longer know how to leave the house at 6am now that I have a newborn to feed and pumping to do. :-q Oh well. At least I didn't have to pre-pay for it, and it was one of those that I'll have to do eventually but not having done it doesn't prevent me from registering for classes. Still. The school girl in me feels like I just cut class on test day. :-S

So I can't remember if anyone is in Columbus, Ohio. I'll be up there next weekend visiting the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and Museum (Cause yeah, we're those people)! Anything definitely worth checking out?
So, I want to cut my hair short again, back to the pixie I rocked before I started growing it out during pregnancy. I was going to make it my back to pre-pregnancy weight reward. But, DH and I are going to a wedding at the end of August. I have 9 pounds to go.
Do I schedule the appointment for right before the trip as motivation? Not schedule it until I reach the goal? I don't want to reward myself early... But I could always pick another reward and the haircut/salon day could just be for being awesome.
Getting my hair cut (I rock the pixie too) always puts me in a good mood and brightens my overall outlook. I'm usually more motivated too. I say go for it
@sking72 I'm glad to hear you say that not many people do. Actually it kinda hurts my feelings when most people are like "she's a mini [DH]! She looks nothing like you!" Lol
How can you deny those eyes a little lamb-ear love?!?
KC I feel you. Everyone says J is a mini DH. She is, but she looks JUST LIKE my baby pics! I swear! I think her eyes an lips are yours to a tee.

Oh well the mimosas were flowin' and I was happy about all of it, plus it helped my golf game and it was for charity... now I need a nap.. Sleepy time.

I do know Akron is in Ohio. But I don't think tires or rubber. I think "Oh. That is a city in Ohio. Probably biggish because I know what state it's in."
But I've never lived in or near Ohio. Nor do I have any relatives there.
I'm from NKY/Cincinnati and I couldn't have told you where Akron was until I moved to Cleveland.
Beautiful day DD2 just took a bottle! Now I can go back to work if I so choose to, because I'm 100% sure no babysitter would cup feed my infant no mater what I pay.
@thomas930 I performed this poem at my eementary school talent show when I was in kindergarden with my best friend. We dressed all in black and had band aids everywhere (I recall now wanting to put one on my bum). The audience laughed at us because we were so freaking cute but IIIIIIII thought they were laughing at us in a teasing way. Little five year old me then ran off the stage and hid underneath the drinking fountain until someone would tell me I did a good job.
I am also really sad because I don't remember what it was like being pregnant. I feel like I didn't cherish any thing and now my boys are all grown up and can't poop and I can't do anything about it!!!
^^What Swerb said. I was just there as saw some cute stuff like you described. I'm all for funky cookie jars though. That's half the fun! Have you checked any overpriced etsy shops?

I'm still trying to figure out this baby wearing thing. The stretchy wrap sucked for us. Haven't tried our soft structured carrier yet bc she's still tiny. She only tolerates the sling and the mei tai for short periods, but I think I've goubd a solution. She hates being confined (hence why I think she's not a huge fan of carriers) but loves her hands. So I shortened the body of the mei tai to let her have her hands out, and she did great until she wanted a nap. Are there any downsides to this? Safety concerns for her not having that headrest? She's not sitting up solidly yet even with support. She does okay for awhile then slumps to the side. She stayed upright for the most part bc the wrap was under her armpits, but her head was a bit wobbly. Any advice appreciated! Here's a blurry pic for reference.

Hmmm. It's almost totally pointless that I respond to this as I have no clue. I have a mai tai also, but it doesn't have the extra head rest. At least I don't think it does. But when I put him in it he seems to find his hands and suck on them anyway. I'll be interested to see other's thoughts.
@sakm I love it, because half the time I'm pretty sure my responses have no point. And in mine the "headrest" is just a padded section at the top. Not something extra or attached. Though mine did come with a detachable hood.

After eating.
