    @MississsippiCatfish!   Be still my heart.  You have not had GOOD Chicago style pizza.  Now, as a native Chicagoan, I will tell you, that is not the style we typically eat - it is a bit much.  I didn't have "deep dish" until I was about 16.  We eat "tavern style" more regularly which is super thin, crispy and cut in squares.   

    If you come to town, I will tell you where to get really good pizza her in Chi Town.  Or, you could book a bus driven pizza tour.  (shameless plug).

    @mnkate All of the other bridesmaids were buying 'rose" colored dresses from Kohls (like Lauren Conrad)... actually, the dress I gave to @indigovader ;)

    so....................... I bought a similar linen type dress from Motherhood and dyed it because I was 8 months huge pregnant....

    Then everyone went to David's bridal at the last minute, and alas........ Everyone was in satin, and I was wearing a linen tent.

    My MIL hosted a dinner at my house my third day home with W.  She bought pizza.  It was DH's mom, dad, aunt, uncle, grandma, and four cousins.

    Just what I wanted while I was soaking through pants with blood.

    Re: serial dating post-divorce. My friend is casually dating a few different guys right now, but not sleeping with them. Her divorce isn't final until early September, but honestly, more power to her IMO. Her stbxh really fucked up her entire life plan, whatever it takes for her to move on. I would probably do the same (if like her, I didn't have kids).

    @amandad715, you mean there's something better than Lou Malnati's in Chicagoland?!  When I had to commute to IL once a month, we always went there for pizza so I could bring some home for DH. That's the only part of my old job I miss. :-)

    We don't have AC in our house unless you count window units and those aren't put in currently. Our summer has been very mild like 70 is the average high so far. Many people here have it but it tends to be the older generations that put it in. It'd cost us a fortune because we have hot water heat, not forced air. Also the only reason we have the window units was because of how goddamn hot it was the year I was pregnant with DS. Hottest summer we've had in years up here. Ugh.

    This is as far as I've gotten.  Chicago thin-crust pizza is disgusting.  The deep dish isn't much better.  But the thin crispy nonsense is liking eating pizza toppings on a saltine.  

    I move from Indiana to the Chicago area and *I miss the pizza in Indiana.*

    I would feel better if my sister went and dated a million guys, and fucked them all - I don't care. 

    It's like she.... I dunno...... shoves them down our throats.  "This is the one, I'm so in love, he'll be a great dad" - okay, dude if that's true that is amazing, but you've been dating a week and you said that about the last 3.  That's what bothers me, that and her bringing them to family things too soon.  So my 'genital rest' comment didn't really fit how I really feel about it; it's not about what she does in private.

    I was looking at pictures of W's first birthday...dude #2 in all of the pictures, had been dating a week and she pulled me aside after cake to tell me she was in love.  Awkward.

    Family vacation last year....oh, brought godawful dude #3 of less than 1 month on a fucking houseboat vacation where 12 people are living together in a 200 square foot floating house for a week.  Oh and it was my ex-fiance's older brother, who hates my youngest sister and can't get along with my brother.  He was a complete nightmare the entire time.  Literally ruined the vacation.  She went on his family's florida vacation after his siblings protested.  Wouldn't you feel weird if you knew people thought it was too soon? 

    She went on Guy #4's family vacation to florida (shared a room with his parents, and slept together in a twin bed!!!!!) last week.  They've been dating a month.  I mean, I dunno. 

    I guess I'm a bitch.

    I think I was okay until it hit 80 degrees and people started asking 'how are you feeling?' With the sad pity eyes 25 times a day.

    I still want #3, possibly even more because I'm feeling much better much sooner than last time.

    I've been stalking her page.  All of her pictures are either them together at Disney (it looks like they go several times per year!) wearing mouse ears, or her in pageant garb.  This is easily going to be my new favorite person to stalk.  One of my co-workers who is out on ML is also a mutual friend of hers.  I can't wait til she comes back in 2 weeks to ask her about it.
    SIL had a Disney themed wedding.  Well, the theme was "Disney" and "obnoxiously bright pink" so thank God the dresses only followed "theme #2."  But each table was a "Disney couple."  Some were normalsauce (well, as normal as shit like this gets), like Aurora and Philip or Beauty and the Beast. But some were almost creepy in a "couples" sense.  Like Ariel and Flounder.  Um.  Cross-species is a no-go for me.
    Umm, Ariel goes with Eric, not flounder.  Flounder and Sebastian should have been a separate table.  Duh. 
    That was my thought.  Well, maybe not Flounder and Sebastian. I'd be cool with two gay Disney sidekicks, but I draw the line at cross-species.

    I just looked up the fiance of Disney Princess wedding.  Holy Crap.  He's also uber Disney.  His last 4 profile pics are him with different characters and he owns a bounce house company.  

    If he drove a white van with no windows offering kids free puppies I wouldn't be surprised.  IDK why I find it odd/weird that you're 36 and have a Disney "thing" when you have no kids, but I totally do.  Maybe that's a UO.

    Guess there really is someone for everyone!

    My BFF and her DH go to Disney several times a year. They do the cruises and parks. She claims they do those because she gets vacation and to spend time with her nieces and nephews, but come on! I keep telling her she needs to go on at least 1 vacay without cartoon characters around before she has kids.

    So far, we've taken this one step further.  No guns, period.  My kids don't even play with water guns right now.  I don't know when I'll allow nerf guns.

    Now...we're being super sensitive because DS1 is having trouble pushing/hitting friends, and I don't need to encourage anymore violence in our house.  But we've had several family members roll their eyes at me.  We have a water squirter for the pool that looks nothing like a gun, so I won't even let DS1 call it a water gun.  We call it a squirter.

    Like I said.  Super overboard.
    I'm like this too @kelbel527 and somehow despite this, my DS knows guns and makes his hands into them and shoots and I'm constantly reprimanding him.  I think he knows from Transformers or other cartoons, but I hate it because we don't even own a water gun and I don't let him watch shows with guns, etc.  It could be friends at preschool too, sigh.

    Leinenkugel makes some really good ones that taste good 1/2 and 1/2. Honey weiss + Beery Weiss = Honey Bear
    Blue Moon + Berry Weiss = Blue Bear

    I had to look up how to spell Leinenkugel and a frosty bottle came up in the search. Sadsies. I am having the worst time this summer not partaking in summer beverages. Maybe bc it's the just beginning of being pg. Last time, we were all in the home stretch of summer. Now I just see the dark days of winter as my endpoint. Totally different. Winter means red wine to me and I don't enjoy that as much as a beer on the deck after the kiddos are in bed.

    My kids are way into guns (Leo only because of James). We don't have toy guns that look real right now (for the kids, DH has a couple air soft guns) and we will never have a real gun. James is really into old school shows like Dukes of Hazzard, the old Spiderman and Scooby Doo cartoons... they all have guns in them. I am way less uptight about toy guns as I thought I would be. I'm planning a cowboy themed Christmas for them complete with old school holsters and western guns.

    I saw an interesting story regarding kids and guns. They put a small group of kids alone in a room with a (empty) gun and watched. The 5 year olds no matter their background of playing with guns and having gun safety lessons to never playing with guns, all picked up the gun and looked down the barrel. Not until closer to 8 did they understand the danger of not even touching it but even half of those kids picked it up. 

    ETA: I just tell James not to shoot people. It isn't something he gets time out for or anything but I give the reminder a lot.

    And James is already an awesome shot with a bow and arrow (suction cup tip). He was shooting last night and our 10 year old neighbor was really impressed. Archery is big here and I think he will be good at it and enjoy it.

    That's interesting.  Frankly, my shielding my kid from guns is an attempt to make sure he doesn't think they're cool, but at the same time, I think having exposure to them lessens the appeal of them and teaching safety is important.  It's one of those lessons that I think are better saved for later.  But even I go back and forth on it.

    @mommap12 - Brody learned about guns from school, I'm fairly certain.  He doesn't watch any shows that have them and we never exposed him to them and when he was 3, he came home talking about them.  There's no way to perfectly shelter them from it all (no matter how hard I try ;) ).  He also knows a lot about Star Wars and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles despite never seeing them on TV or being exposed to them at home.
