  • @kenziebug22, definitely call your doctor asap. It could be the heat, but pre-eclampsia is something I'm okay being panicky about! I have had sudden much more severe swelling as well. I called my dr last week & he had me come in. Turns out my blood pressure is rising & I have trace protein in my urine. Not classified as pre-e as of yet, but I'll be going in for monitoring & bp checks every other day until little miss makes an appearance.
Fingers crossed all is good for you! Keep us updated!
  • @lynjae2004‌ my blood pressure has been steady and on the low side my whole pregnancy (its normally always lower for me) and i told my dr about it thursday and he didnt seem too concerned but after my face was swollen this morning i was a bit iffy, i'll have to see how things are in the morning and if nothing really changes i'll be sure to call! Right now its just my feet a tiny bit and i have them proped up, which seems to be helping. I hope everything goes okay for you until your LO is here! I'll update asap!

Shitty pregnant symptom: I have SO MUCH SALIVA. I keep waking up in a puddle of drool, and twice this week I have choked on my own spit. So damn attractive.

Ahhhh! I totally drooled this pregnancy while I slept and thought I was a SS. Good to knowIm not alone.
  • Noticed my lower legs and feet swelling more often, happened last night and still there most of the day today and this morning when i woke up my lips and cheeks seemed swollen a bit too but that went away. Anyone else have this?
I swell like a MoFo on and off but my dr said he isn't concerned because no protein in urine and BP is normal. Does your OB check your urine every visit?

  • @kenziebug22: I saw you answered my question in another post. Definitely check with DR!

My OB told me last appointment the only cure she had for my swelling was delivery,  hopefully you just have normal pregnant swelling too

  • @browneyedtornado‌ yeah my dr checks my urine and bp every visit which my last one was this past thursday and everything was normal. The past week or so ive noticed it more and it's usually just my legs except for this morning with my face but i was outside a lot yesterday and again today when i noticed my legs and feet again so i hope its just being almost 38 weeks in 97 degree florida weather

You ladies losing weight so quickly post partum are giving me hope that I won't stay this enormous!
(Edited because mobile cut off my reply)
@kenziebug22 thank you for the well wishes, & good luck to you & your LO! Thats good that your blood pressure has stayed steady and low- hopefully its just this heat causing your swelling!
  • That moment when you're laying in bed awake for a good 10 minutes debating the pros and cons of rolling over because you're just not sure if it's worth the effort.

Ughhhhh I ONLY have RLP still when attempting to roll over in bed. Worst thing ever.

(The 98% of you that are still pregnant, ie bloated, swollen, etc, disregard this post...) I miss being pregnant... And I kinda can't wait to do it again.
I've already started thinking about baby #3. Not sure my MW will let me try for a vbac now that I've had 2 c/s, though, so I may have to find a new practice which is a bummer because I really like the one I'm at now.

I am SO excited about how much milk I get when pumping now I took a picture of the bottle and sent it to my mom. Almost 2 ounces in a half hour!!!! The bottles I was sending to the nursery yesterday my dad was giving me funny looks for since there was only a teaspoon in some of them haha.

I know how you feel! I think my milk is actually starting to come in. I've been sending them a little bit in a syringe but I actually have liquid this time. Still not a whole lot but getting better. Today is day 3.

And I'm torn. Cuz I'd like 4 kids, but at this point I am like "never again!!" I hate c/s recovery (and the actual c/s sucked this time) plus I have been feeling a lot of guilt not being able to give DS1 as much attention as I used to. And this whole pregnancy stuff is costing about $7k out of pocket. So we need better insurance before we go at it again. DS2 has been on my boob for the last 2 hours. I just wanna shower :( although I AM happy he's eating cuz he lost 9oz (and they get concerned when he's lost 10+ oz) plus is jaundice and BF helps with both those things...but still. Idk how many more times I want to do this. In a year or two I'm sure I will have changed my mind haha. Just in pity party mode at the moment.

I read a mention in the NICU thread that made me remember.... The full moon is coming up! Any of you buy into this? I know my DH and his mom do.

The full moon is on my due date... So I'm hoping it's true if he doesn't come beforehand

  • I'm really excited for my prenatal massage today! I'm hoping that taking a walk then getting a massage might relax me enough that baby J decides it would be a good idea to come out :) At the very least I'm hoping the massage helps with my carpel tunnel...anyone else having issues with carpel tunnel syndrome?

Mine is absolutely horrific.  I have it under normal circumstances, and apparently pregnancy carpal is something slightly different, per my hand surgeon.  My hands are constantly slightly numb, and when combined with the swelling, I'm having trouble functioning.  I had to open a gallon of milk with my teeth the other day.  I enrolled in a knitting class for a sweater for this summer to help keep me occupied while we were waiting for the baby, and I'm way behind where I should be before my next class because I can't really knit for more than 5 minutes at a time.  It's so frustrating, and it hurts so much.  It's really making these last few weeks really, really hard.  I'm sorry you're dealing with it as well.

6 days off of a csection and my pre pregnancy jeans go up AND button. Can I get a hell yah? I wonder if after all the swelling goes down I may be smaller than I started (wistful thinking).
Not wistful thinking! AW: I hopped on the scale today and all 30lbs I gained are off 8 days post-vaginal delivery. My point? Don't discount the possibility!
I'm definitely not stepping on the scale until 6 weeks pp- but it's nice to feel a bit more myself! I had hoped to fit into my jeans by Halloween- but I'm happy to go earlier! HaHa!

Not stepping on a scale until I'm at the doctor's office, but you ladies inspired me to pull out my summer stuff from the attic. Yeah, trying on those shorts (in the bigger post last baby size) was a total fail. I should have known better. It took a good year last time for me to lose the baby weight and that was with me working out and EBF.
  • AWing my cake for tonight because it took a ton of effort at 9 months pregnant and because it has alcohol!! I present: a Guinness stout chocolate cake filled with whiskey chocolate ganache, iced in a Bailey's buttercream frosting and finished with a chocolate whiskey glaze. Yum!

I wish there was a way to eat this through the screen =P~

I'm the exact opposite. SO happy I'm not pregnant anymore and I can feel my old body coming back! I don't know if I can see this being our only child, but there is a small part of me that can just to not be pregnant again.

  • You are all welcome to come visit. I love baking and it's going to be the end of me because that's my fallback now when I'm trying to keep my idle hands busy!

For those who don't like chocolate, I will be glad to provide mojito cupcakes!

Where do you get these recipes!?

The cake recipe is an adjustment to a cupcake recipe from Smitten Kitchen. The mojito cupcakes were my own creation by adding lime and mint-infused syrup to a yellow cupcake batter and then bathing each cupcake in a mint-rum simple syrup and then topping with a mint-lime buttercream.

I love experimenting, though sometimes they don't end up as delicious as I'd hope for!

They both sound amazing! I love to try to create my own things too, ive always loved to bake. Totally stinks when it doesn't end the way you hoped for.

You and me both lady, due Saturday. I'm hoping he comes before then. I feel like the whole situation would be like bad 90's sitcom writing. All traffic, celebrity cameos and chicks pushing in the elevator. Lets just pop them out during the week ;)
I'm due a day before y'all.. And they're telling me they won't let me go past my due date. I wonder if I could beg off another day and see if the full moon helps before they induce me! (Assuming she doesn't come before that, which I'm reeaaaalllyyyy hoping she will.) I even made the eggplant parmigiana last night. Let's get this baby OUT!

I've got a friend who loves to bake and blogs about it (baked perfection). She has an irish car bomb cupcake recipe that sounds very similar to that cake. She had her 2nd LO 2 months ago and recently did a lactation cookie recipe that I'll be making myself in the near future.
  • I didn't even realize it's a full moon on Saturday-- I've tried every other old wives tale might as well get to try that one too especially since it's my official due date! But if I do go into labor then I hope the hospital isn't crowded..eek!

  • @sxymamakat‌ hugs to you. Ppl are stupid. That's what pregnancy teaches me lol. Hang in there. You have every right to be frustrated and vent.

  • @sxymamakat I'm sorry people are saying those things! Just keep in mind that their opinions don't mean a thing & your medical team obviously knows whats best for you & baby! Like pp said- you obviously know to listen and trust your doctors!
It helps to vent. I think all of the negative remarks & other's opinions are REALLY grating on all of our nerves at this point (those of us still pregnant, anyway!) Its the final days and I find myself so much more annoyed by others 'helpful' remarks than I did a couple months ago! I told SO I wished everyone with opinions about OUR birth plan & OUR plans to raise OUR baby would just tape their mouths shut until I'm capable of being nicer, or ignoring them!
