We left the festivities early because there were way more people lighting off fireworks right by us and there were people smoking pot near us. I was worried that my 3 week old would become deaf and high.
@otter1103 Those faces are adorable! What is your LO sitting in in those pics? Is that a rock n play? I think we need something similar for my DD because it looks nice and snug.
@babygabe614, it's her Mamaroo. I just put a snuzzler insert in it so she wouldn't flop around so much.

Oh, awesome. We have a mamaroo too so I will look into getting an insert. Thanks!
@babygabe614 - the mamaroo insert was hufe for us. We didn't have one at first and he would scream and scream. I tried to roll up and tuck him in there with receiving blankets - no luck. He loves it now though, well worth the $30.
Random question, is anyone else suddenly a lot more emotional about things? A month pp and I get weepy over anything, look at dd and I burst into tears bc i think she is so pretty. I realize ds's birthday is coming up and I almost burst into tears. Some dorky commercial, burst into tears. Seriously I am not like this at all normally, since I'm not really depressed about things I'm assuming it's not ppd but I assumed I would be a little less emotional about things by now.
I've been pretty emotional and it's not really going away. I felt a lIttle more depressed earlier, and that's gone away, but I'm still tearing up pretty often.
@mrsdbc J finally really looked at his mobile and engaged and I started crying. I'm not really depressed or overwhelmed but I'm more prone to crying for sure.

This is great to hear! We have been putting her in it swaddled and kind of strapping her in as best we can but we could never take our eyes off her with her in it that way. I will be getting an insert asap! Thanks for the review @lest12!
Also, on a cloth diaper B/S/T Facebook page, people were recommending an Etsy shop that does awesome custom diapers. They are cheaper than the ones I've been getting and are super cute and got great reviews. I'm excited to purchase a few - I'm way too into this CD thing!
We are finally getting newborn/family pictures today. H took C at 5 and let me sleep (yay!) and I slept too long. I'm now pumping and then will be rushing to get ready. It's hard getting myself and another person ready.
I bought some "body after baby" book back in February or something.
I pulled it out last night. I don't know wtf I was thinking when I bought it, lol. It has specific meal plans starting in day 1 pp with recipes and everything... I mean, I'm trying to eat healthy but the thought that we would have had time or brainpower to shop for and cook a new recipe in the last few weeks is hysterical.
It also has exercises that I can't do because of the CS. Lame!
I said something in another thread but really, none of any of this is anything like I expected... the best laid plans...
The good thing I guess is that I never expected LO to be so amazing, either.
I'm supposed to run a half marathon with my dad in April. I need to get back to running as soon as I'm cleared. I miss living in California where my running path over looked the ocean. There's no where around here that gives me a good view.
I baby wore for the first time today! We have a carrier that starts at 8lbs so I wanted her to be a bit over that before I used it. DH and I went to the grocery store and using the carrier was great because there was this crazy old lady who smelled like cat pee who kept asking me questions and probably wouldve tried to touch had C not been attached to me. It was also ten times easier than trying to fit all the groceries around the car seat in the basket.
First day without DH and it was a success! I cried like 100 times yesterday because I was so nervous but we did great. I took him to his 2 week appt and nursed in public and he is up 10oz from birth weight! I feel like today was the boost I needed, I am doing something right despite my right boob issues (so raw I have to pump) and lack of confidence.
Also I forgot how good listening to music makes me feel, so ladies if you are having a bad day crank up the tunes and have a mini dance party with your LO, it feels great and lifted my spirits for sure!
The songs that calm LO? The Frozen soundtrack. I'm guessing she heard it so much in utero thanks to big sis that she finds it comforting. Good thing I know all the words to all the songs by this point.
Boys had their one month appointment today!!!! Connor: 8lbs 12oz, 22in! 15in head circumference! Kellan: 8lbs 12oz, 21 3/4in! 15in head circumference! And they were 5lbs15 and 5lbs12 at their one week!!!! They did great with their shot too, both of them let out one good cry and then calmed right down

I directed The Little Mermaid while pregnant and play it for DS when he is fussy. It usually works
I left the house for 30 minutes without the baby today! He was attached to the boob all day and hardly napped so DH offered to hold him while I went on a "sanity walk" with the dog. At 3 weeks pp I can't go very far without my crotch throbbing but it was still nice!
Random PSA on Target diapers... the Up & Up brand is currently 10% off in store, plus there's a 5% off Cartwheel and if you use your redcard it's another 5% off. Holla for a dolla.
Tacking on to the Target PSA (because I'm going later with my mom to hit this sale up) boxes of Pamper's Swaddlers (and a couple other brands), the smaller sized boxes, are 24.99 each and you get a $10 gift card when you buy two. There's also swaddlers coupons on coupons.com right now too for $1.50 off. Plus the $20 off $100 like a PP said and 5% off with your redcard. Woot
