Will probably be testing tomorrow am. I've been feeling like AF may be on the way- increased CM and slightly sore boobs. I don't really know what to think. Tomorrow is our 3 year wedding anniversary so I would love a BFP- trying not to get my hopes up. Best of luck to everyone!

Hugs to everyone who needs them and good luck to those in the TWW!

Currently in the process for IUI #2. This cycle is being the pain in the butt. I have/had cysts on both ovaries but they are not causing a problem. My ovaries decided to be slow this cycle as well. However, things looked much better at today's u/s. I have at least one mature follie (22mm). Triggered this morning and will be having the IUI tomorrow morning.

    Good luck to everyone!!!

QOTW: Recent good movie/book.....I haven't watched or read any movies or books recently. I would have to say, and please don't crucify me, that the last decent book I read was......Fifty Shades of Grey. I read the whole trilogy in a weekend. I wouldn't say the books were great but I couldn't put them down.

  • I am 3 dpiui. We had 3 million total sperm in the sample we used for iui. Our RE basically told me to be happy that it was above the 1 million they require for iui. We have never washed a sample before, so we had no idea how my husband's sperm would hold up. Testing day is July 12th. If I don't get pregnant the plan is to try 2 more before moving to ivf.

The best book I have read recently is called Bridge to Haven by Francine Rivers. She is one of my favorite Christian fiction authors. The best movie I have watched recently (on Netflix) is About Time with Rachel McAdams. I thought it had a good story and meaning.

August 2014 - After a 2nd opinion, plan to take Lupron x 2 months to shrink fibroids then laparoscopic/robotic myomectomy.  Surgery date is set for Nov 21st!
November 2014 - Robotic myomectomy done (2 large fibroids removed, mild endo found).  Benched x 3 months

    Hello Ladies:

I just got my 7DPO progesterone blood work level and I'm SOOOOO excited that it came in at 43!!!!! Last cycle it was only at 13 so I'm really happy with this number. I have been taking progsterone suppositories 2x a day, but have read that the suppositories may or may not influence blood levels, so I will have to wait and see until my beta testing on July 9.

QOTW: What is the best book you've read or movie you've seen recently?

The People of the Abyss by Jack London and

The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot are two of my favs. I only read non-fiction :)

I recently saw Wolves of Wallstreet and Texas Buyers Club and they were both really good.

    Me: 33, DH: 32

    TTC: 2 years
    Fertility blood tests all normal
    Tilted uterus
    3 day ultrasound 17 follicles
    HSG: 11/13/13- tubes open
DH SA: SUPER sperm (145 million, 84% motility, 22% morphology)
All infection disease and immunity blood tests NORMAL

FIRST IUI May 2014: 100 mg Clomid days 5-9, third ultrasound CD 13 revealed four follicles 27, 24 and 20 and 13mm. Trigger shot May 28 with IUI May 29 and 30 (fingers crossed) - BFN started spotting 11DPO :(

IUI #2 B2B 6/23 and 6/24, three mature eggs and 130 million sperm! FX this is the month!  BFN 7/8

3rd cycle benched due to cysts - TI with OPK tests -  BFN

3rd mediated cycle: Clomid+Trigger+TI  (three follies left side, one on right as usual....what the hell right ovary get it together and produce some damn follicles!) 7DPO progesterone level 43 with NO suppositories YAY for a natural strong ovulation. Beta canceled started spotting 13DPO - Third time is not a CHARM! 14 day cycle WTF! Everything looks normal - RE wants to start injectables next cycle so this cycle I'm benched

Officially benched until March....but still plan on trying the baking soda douche due to my excessive and thick CM

JANUARY SIGGY CHALLENGE...This is so me!

Love this man....he was so before his time in his thoughts and ideas about the world....been obsessed about him lately bringing it back to the early 90s.

  • 1. waiting for AF after abandoning last cycle due to early ovulation (would have been IUI #2 then)
    2. IUI #2 (Would you consider this IUI #2 or #3 since I did take meds last time, but we did not do the IUI procedure?)
    3. ??? probably late July ???

QOTW: No new movies recently. I'm re-reading Stephen King's "On Writing." It's a practical take on the writing profession. I usually write non-fiction, but there can be some cross-over in the skills used for fiction and non-fiction.

  • Beta BFN. CD2 for me. Uro just told DH he has low-ish Testosterone so he's going on HCG shots.

Find out tomorrow if RE wants me to start Letrozole again or skip July IUI to wait on DH getting a couple shots in. I am very disappointed because I'm a teacher and really counted on using summer break to have lower-stress treatments.

The silver lining - I can't wait to make DH pee on a Wondfo and let me see the first real HPT+ of my life!!!

QOTW: Confession time - I've been whiling away free hours with Amazon Prime shows. No great movies or books yet this summer break. Such a waste but I am not holding it against myself - we do what we have to do! :)

  • I am on day 3 of Clomid (CD5-9).  I'm already starting to feel twinges in my ovaries.  Having headaches and dry mouth at night, I feel like my hot flashes never totally went away, but so far, they are bearable.  I am not in crazy mode right now, which is good, because it means I can focus on other things going on right now, not just TTC.  I panicked when I was falling asleep, and realized I forgot to take my Clomid last night!  Would that totally screw the whole cycle?  Luckily, I remembered before it was too late.

QOTW:  I haven't been in a reading mode, but me and DH watched the Lego movie the other night, and it was hilarious. :)

Question for you ladies ( if this is the right place): do you use OPKs in a monitored cycle? I'm going on day 5 of femara and starting to get watery CM, but my first u/s isn't for 3 more days.  I just don't want to miss my window for IUI.

  •   @BunnyBerry‌ Sorry for your BFN. I'm a teacher too, and I feel the same way about wanting to squeeze as much treatment into the summer as possible. It's been a huge bummer that it's not working out that way.

I'm sorry, that really sucks. :( The uro was kind of mean about it too - when I said, oh I'd hoped to use this summer as I'm a teacher, he got very defensive (maybe on behalf of men and their 90-day sperm everywhere?) and snapped, "Well, welcome to life! That's just called real life."

This is a grueling process that many IFers feel the need to quit at some point. There's already a ton going on for many of us, and we teachers really counted on these 3 summer tries - if their job is to help us get pregnant, I think they should recognize the effect that demoralization can have on our ability to stick with invasive treatments! Plus, I thought everyone understood that teachers are much busier and overworked that the average person during the school year? We don't get much sympathy for things like doctor appointments, because our admin knows we have lots of holiday time when we *should* have scheduled everything!

I usually have to skip the month affter injectibles & IUI because of PCOS/leftover cysts but I am looking forward to my appt. Friday to find out!

@lebradford fx you are able to get off the bench!

@bunnyberry so sorry about the BFN and the news about DH testosterone numbers. Your comment about making him pee on a wondfo made me laugh!

@tiko99 we're beta buddies! Hopefully July 9th brings us both happy news! Side note, my RE does betas 14 dptrigger, not dpiui which I thought was a bit weird, but hopefully it's not too early.

AFM, I'm 5dpIUI #3 and just trucking along in the 2ww. DH had over 100 million post wash which is by far the best numbers we've ever had. I had one 18mm on the right when I triggered, so I'm not overly hopeful as we are considering the right side damaged after the ectopic. Miracles happen though, so it's hard not to be hopeful.

QOTW: I tend to be really cyclical when it comes to reading. I'll finish three books in a row and then not pick up another one for months. The last book I read was Gone Girl which was good and I would highly recommend it.

    @BunnyBerry

    Holy shit! That's so harsh!

I completely agree with you. It's a lot harder for teachers to do treatment during the school year. It's not an office where I can just work 15 minutes later if I come late. Someone else has to supervise the kids if we're not there!

When I first had my consultation with the NP, she said, "oh, you're a teacher? They always have the hardest time scheduling appointments."

Yes, we're off all summer, but because of that we barely have any time off during the school year! Gah! I'm so mad for you that the doctor said that to you. Even if work had nothing to do with it, it's still disappointing.

How did your IUI's go today?

I had my IUI this morning and it came with some great news...my DH's sperm count increased by A LOT! On our first IUI, his count was 5 million post-wash; and today it was 23 million post-wash. To me, that is very impressive. For those of you who may ask, he started taking a multivitamin and a L-arginine supplement once a day. I am so happy I could cry.

TWW here I come and let the craziness begin!

BFN for IUI 4.1 -  not handling this one too well.

We can't do meds/IUI for the next cycle because I am traveling (not with DH) for several days, followed by him traveling for a few days (without me) during the middle of the cycle.  This also means that we will be apart on our 5-year wedding anniversary, which will likely fall during our fertile window.  :(

We need to figure out if we are doing more IUI or switch to IVF.

QOTW: What is the best book you've read or movie you've seen recently? I recently watched Prisoners, and I was enthralled the entire time. It's a long movie, and quite emotionally draining, but it was good.

    1. Where are you at in the IUI process? (2WW, meds, break, etc.) The very beginning. Will start climid on July 8.

    2. Which IUI are you on? IUI #1

    3. Test/Beta day? Hoping for July 30, but TBD.

  • Wow we had a good many BFP's in June! :)

I had a bit of a setback, we were on a break month due to travel for work, and I've just found out that I will again be travelling in July, which means another month's delay... I could have told my manager that we are having treatment, but it feels like emotional blackmail. I wish we were better better at getting pregnant the old fashioned way!

So I will still be lurking around; hoping and praying for the rest of you!

QOTW: it has been ages since I've read a good book, my all time favourite is 'Like water for Chocolate' Could not stop reading that book, read it in almost one sitting.

  • Sorry @sewfie for the bad news. Hopefully you get a sticky one next time.

I'm going ahead with IUI #7 (the Hail Mary before IVF). CD 7 today, I have follicles at 1.4 and 1.2. Grow, grow, grow! Fx for lucky #7.

Official diagnosis: Unexplained IF. I am 32. I have low ovarian reserve (low AMH), and poor egg quality. I've also been diagnosed with mild glandular developmental arrest (lining problems, detected with EFT).

We are using open ID donor sperm. IUIs #1-7=BFN. IVF September 2014 antagonist protocol, 8R,5M,3F, 5 day transfer of 1 morula = BFN. IVF#2 planned for January 2015 (antagonist protocol + HGH).

Congrats to the BFPs, and hugs to all the BFNs! I am super late to this check in.

(((Hugs))) @Sewfie, I have been there and it is awful. :( Be good to yourself.

I had IUI #2 yesterday and it seemed to go well, the nurse told me I had a 'beautiful' cervix haha! Haven't heard that one before. We had 2 good follies on the right (unblocked) side. Now we wait...

ETA I always forget the QOTW. I am currently in the middle of Written In My Own Heart's Blood, the newest book in the Outlander Series. It's pretty good!
