  • I have had malaria, mumps (2x), chicken pox, scarlet fever, measles and am still alive to talk about it (almost didn't make it through the malaria though, and cannot donate blood because of it)

In HS the water polo coach was going to report that I was being abused due to having so many bruises until I showed him how easily I bruised.

My superior labial frenulum is partially disconnected because of a trampoline accident.

Lol, I just had to look that up on a mouth anatomy chart, and it's funny that it contains the word "labial," but anyway, that's the little piece of skin that connects your upper lip to your gums.

Lol, mine is because I hit a tree sledding.

I have an embarrassing lustful reaction to Marilyn Manson. I find him sexually....something. Idk. Like only when he's singing. It started when I saw his tainted love video. My sister feels the same as I do, so I know I'm not the only one.

  • I didn't get my drivers license until I was 32. I've only gotten one ticket in the 5 years I've been driving, and it was when I was pregnant with DD. I was lost and panicking a little, so I was speeding. The officer "let me off" with "just" a seat belt ticket, even though I was wearing my seat belt. The irony is that I am obsessive about wearing my seat belt. Like, I put it on before I turn the car on, and I nag DH because he always "forgets" to put his on.

I am kinda worried @triplea598 is going to know who I am IRL because of the ballet thing.

:(  My mother has a lot of mental health issues and I know I should be in therapy, too.  Hugs to you.

  • I'm not going to admit to anything embarrasing so here's my dull tidbit.

To this day, other than Princess Bride, Behind The Attic wall is my favorite book.

I love that book so much!!  ::off to amazon to buy and read again::

  • I am still pretty new, so there is a lot that Parenting doesn't know about me.

I trained for years as an opera singer, but I also smoked. I am a pretty darn good opera singer, but my nicotine habit ensured that I couldn't really go places with my talent.

I trained as an opera singer, too! I quit because I didn't feel like I had the competitive spirit necessary to "make it".

  • I've never had a license because of severe anxiety caused by a car accident when I was little. I currently have my permit and I've been getting much better. I'll go for my test within the next few months as soon as I feel more comfortable parking (I suck at it). Never said anything about it here because people IRL tend to give me the side-eye for it.

    Same.
  • I was a super spazzy kid.  I was very impulsive, hyperactive, and was diagnosed with ADHD when I was in 5th grade.  Looking back, I think my hyperactivity was a lot of nervous energy from growing up in an unstable environment.

I feel the same about myself and had the same issues. Recreational drugs helped in HS, and now I have wine :)

I have a "meeting" with a client at The Yard House (so many beers)! in 45 minutes and forgot about it when I got dressed this AM, and I'm wearing a sleeveless dress showing my fat arms, and no nylons showing my fat pale legs.  Not the best impression.  Oh well, it's damn hot out.

^ this is more of a random but given that parenting didn't know I have a meeting, nor the fact that I look like a scrub today (haven't used that term in forever) makes it count.

And now I just realized that The Yard House is a chain.

I used to live near the yard house in boston. I miss it.

  • I have a younger 1/2sister (same father) but she hasn't spoken to me since our father died, about 5 yrs now.  I have no clue is she knows she has a niece.  I tried reaching out to her 2012, but that was my last attempt, I tried a bunch of times before, the ball is in her court now.
  • Currently in the capitol, but I moved here as an adult. I wonder how many "semi-professional" ballet companies there really are in Texas...

I wore casts and leg braces for the first 4 years of my life.

    <-------Forrest G up in here.

When I was a baby I had to wear the corrective shoes with the bar in the middle to straighten out my feet because they were both turned in when i was born.

    I did too :-q
  • I guess Ballet Austin and Houston are actually professional and not semi-professional... Whatever. There's a lot of companies in Texas though. If yours was in the south it's possible we were in the same one, but I'm not sure.
Oh, it was NOT anywhere near Ballet Austin professional. And the one I was in was more central, I guess.

^5 for en pointe twins, though! I loved it.

  • Oh, yeah, I know what you mean. The girls in my company were mostly nice, but whenever I went to workshops and such it was a very different story. It could get really ugly, really fast. I wanted to go pro, but home life caused me to stop about 15, which is right in the middle of the crucial years. Oh, well. I am short and curvy even when I'm thin, so I probably wouldn't have gotten far anyway ;)

Me too. It's one of the reasons why I work from home.
  • One of the reasons that I loved going to my one set of grandparents was that I could get some of the classic shows such as the Beverly Hillbillies and Addams Family.

  • I was also trained in opera (hi ladies) and was in a barbershop quartet in high school
<-------clearly one of the super cool kids</p>

Barbershop quartet is cool! I'd always wished we'd had a swing chorus or something like barbershop, but NO. Sigh.

    Let's have a concert. ;-)

  • Oops sorry, totally missed that "name one" part lol
  • Theres way more y'all don't knowever do about me then what you do know so its kinda hard to pick....

I went to England in the 5th grade with the school on a Spring Break trip. I was way to young to appreaciate the experience.

I was a super fat kid till my jr year in high school. Then I went balls to the wall & dropped about 100lbs & have been at a fairly comfortable weight ever since. Still have lots of left over flab tho & that makes me self conscience.

After losing said weight I got a little slutty & wild. Although I am happily married with almost 4 kids, I kinda miss those care free party girl days.

I never use measurements when cooking (baking is a different subject). I just do a "little bit of this/little bit of that". It usually works out!

Last part...+1 Never measure when cooking..... except baking. Which I rarely do anyways. :)
