There are some things I won't do and some things I did without realizing it was a no-no and just kept doing it anyway. No raw sushi, no salami, no cold cuts, < 200mg caffeine a day, no alcohol, no stinky cheeses, no delicious rare meat, low mercury fish.
I have had over easy/poached eggs, sausage, and probably a bunch of things that I don't know are bad. I am pretty sure that cinnamon bun ice cream has some sort of uncooked dough in it, but it's fucking delicious.
No soft serve because why not just eat ice cream?
because soft serve > ice cream. I love ice cream, but I can't live without soft serve. Especially the twisted ones.
I've had deli meat a few times at Panera, but I've made sure it's heated just to be safe. I've had (cooked) sushi, hot dogs, bacon, and soft serve (I love Orange Leaf and Cherry Berry!)... Oh and I guess Feta is considered a soft cheese. I've had that on my salads a lot because I love the flavor, but I'm pretty sure it's been pasteurized since I was at a restaurant.
My "favorite" incident would have to be that one time at Olive Garden when I order tiramisu, got halfway through it before remembering what's in it (alcohol and raw eggs) and then continued to eat it. #-o
I have had tuna sandwiches about once a week...soft cheese and bacon (didnt know it was a no no) o well
I think that is the recommended amount of tuna you can have in a week. I haven't really wanted it too much. I wanted tuna a bunch when TTC though. Maybe I got over it. There's mercury in a lot of things and it is good to limit or omit from your diet, but I wouldn't necessarily worry about your once a week tuna sesh. You might try a nice chicken salad if you want to spice it up a bit.

No soft serve because why not just eat ice cream?
I'm a vegetarian but I am still very much so eating whatever I want. I do eat cheese (it's my vice) and would never give it up ... no way. I also drink coffee most days of the week and I have no idea if I'm going "over the 200 mg limit" for caffeine. I get the "fat free" cappuccino from QT which I'm sure has way less caffeine than regular coffee, because I've started to get the shakes if I drink regular coffee.
One thing I don't do is drink alcohol ... I missed beer, though, so I did have a N/A beer a couple of weeks ago. I think it has trace amounts but I don't worry.
All these ice cream pictures have me thinking I need to text DH to pick some up on his way home tonight - I so don't need it and am trying to start limiting my sugar some in prep for 1-hour glucose Wed of next week, but well...it's ice cream.
Um, yum. Now I'm hungry for all the naughty things!
During first tri I was by the book, but I'm PgAL so I was really paranoid the first couple months about everything anyway.
Since then I've lightened up a bit, and had deli meat a handful of times (I just love subs!), a cup of coffee almost every morning, bacon, soft serve (just once but seriously didn't know this was an issue), and since it's summertime in Wisconsin, I've eaten quite a few brats. Which I assume they're on the no-no list for the same reason hot dogs are? Oh! I also eat my steaks medium-rare because I just find them ruined if they aren't nice and pink in the middle.
Last week my DH and I went out for sushi at our regular restaurant. I ordered a few of the cooked variety rolls, and he ordered the raw favorites. I had 3 pieces of his rolls and although I felt a little guilty about it afterward, I would do it again. It was amazing.
Bacon is cool guys - I specifically asked my obgyn, and she said cooked bacon is perfectly fine. And she's kind of a hard ass!
I try to only have heated deli meat, though a couple times I've bitten into it and it's cold. I do any cheese if it's pasteurized. I drink coffee, but stay under 200mg per day. So basically I've just given up sushi and alcohol - I miss them both!
DH and I have been married 3+ years. This is our first PG, and we are thrilled!
Can't wait to meet our baby BOY, Mateo in October!!
I'm eating prettying much everything as long as it's prepared in a clean environment. Just going sparingly on the high mercury fish. I think it's more about the healthy things you do eat and drink rather than the stuff you avoid.
I've had plenty of soft cheese, soft serve a few times (didn't know until afterwards that I "shouldn't" be eating it), a few sips of wine, and a few cups of coffee. Can't wait for the day I can have eggs benedict or eggs sunny side up though! Which is weird because I haven't had eggs in forever...

This is me too! Eggs Benedict is my favorite breakfast/brunch dish, and the only time I had the opportunity to order it I was in first tri and too paranoid, so I got something else. I love sunny side up eggs too but I've only been making mine scrambled. 4 months to go!
I've done pretty good giving up most foods - except my coffee! But can I please share with everyone that my local go to ice cream shop just started making wine ice cream! I have refrained and it's been tough!
