I use them. I love them. Super easy to use, and they really are tasteless. Pedi didn't rec a vit d drop, but I figure vit d is vit d. They are much less expensive over the internet then at a health food store. I think I bought mine for close to $30 at vitamin shoppe. A bottle should last about a year according to the label.
I use D drops and love them because they're so easy to give to DD. One drop either on my nipple at the start of BFing or on the bottle nipple, and that's all she needs for the day. The liquid vitamins are so messy; we tried them for a couple weeks but DD would usually spit out half of the dose and I could tell she hated the taste. Go with the D drops -- you can usually get a good deal on the internet. Just make sure whichever supplement you go with specifies that it's Vitamin D3 or cholecalciferol.
LO spit out most of the 1ml vitamin D, so pedi recommended the carlsons. They've worked great for us.
