I'm 4 weeks postpartum. Bleeding stopped a little over a week ago. Had some cramps this morning, and bleeding again, medium flow. Could this be first period, or more lochia? It's been almost 8 yrs since I had my dd so I can't remember when my period returned.
Could possibly be a bit of retained placenta. I would let your OB or midwife know. Good luck!
I have been taking senna a stool softener here at the hospital but just haven't had the urge! We go home tomorrow and I will load up on miralax and hopefully go then.
@Taymiller I took a stool softener and a laxative at the hospital on wed when I had him. Ate Larabars everyday too since I had some left and I still didn't go until Fri night. Pretty sure I totally emptied out during labor and that's why it took so long.
Figured I'd give a final update on the situation with DH. He did remember our anniversary lol but we didn't get to go do anything for it... on fact we slept through most of the day. He explained why he was in gardendale, which I'm not sure if i completely believe, but he has been a great help with the boys today, knows he's in the doghouse and accepts it, lol, and we went to a friend's retirement party with the twins and had a great time. So I'm not TOO mad at him anymore, still frustrated and if he does it again we will have a major issue, but he has been really good with everything baby and my recovery related so i am going to give him a little leeway lol...
Honestly though, as much as I complain about DH, and as many issues as we have had in the past, he really is an amazing dad and husband, and I have been blessed to have him in my life.
After a week of 5:30 wake ups, C slept until 6:30 this morning! Her little brother had me up for a long time in the middle of the night, so that extra hour was bliss.
I'm freaking out. My friend did our maternity pictures and was going to do newborn pictures. She's been acting kind of funny so I asked her if she could come over this week and do them. She told me she was having issues with her camera and now can't do them. I debated finding An actual photographer to begin with. Now I'm kicking myself in the ass. By the time we get them scheduled C will be out of the sleepy newborn phase!

Maybe explain your flaky friend situation and see if someone can squeeze you in? New baby pictures will still be sweet even if he's a little older.
I know it's not always a sign of oncoming labor but I'm 8 days overdue and finally lost my plug. Pleeeeeease let this mean something is going to start soon. [-O<
I also never thought I'd be excited to lose it. I'm kind of grossing myself out.
I'm a little over 2 weeks PP. today I cleaned up the house and went on a short walk. While walking, I had a gush of blood soak through my underwear but no bleeding after. Dr. Google is mixed - mostly says to take it easy and call if I soak through a pad, which I don't think it would have. Wwj14d?
Eta: I had stopped bleeding so I wasn't using a pad. Maybe I just over exerted myself?

I would say you probably overexerted yourself. Take it easy and see if that makes a difference.
@elsa1688 I am in the same boat. If I over exert I start bleeding again for an afternoon or so. I called it in and was told its completely normal. Its also normal for it to happen without any exertion, so I just keep wearing pads.

I've contacted two. One seems to be available and I haven't heard back from the other yet. The first one is a little more expensive, her work is good and I think I'd be satisfied (especially since I could end up not having any). The other is a little less expensive and I love her work. I'm really hoping she can fit us in.
@shannonliggett I was just saying to someone today how cute Max is when he cries. I get annoyed at other people's kids crying, but when he cries I'm just like awww! He has the most pathetic little pouty face. Sigh....just so in love with this bebe
@ricecakes1216 - good luck, I hope you get the one you want.
On the subject of newborn photos, what's the general time frame to get them done?
Our photographer said less than 10 days is best. We did ours at a week old and it was almost too late.
I think it depends on the baby and the poses you want. We got ours done at two days shy of three weeks and I really like them...but, we were unable to do some of the more common super bendy newborn poses. It is possible to do them later, just maybe not all the poses you want.
2 days past my due date and we finished the nursery. Soooo happy. I had been waiting for DH to put up 3 shelves and he did it today, there was only a little cursing involved when the screws kept getting stripped by the drill. But it's done and now everything has a place and we feel like we're ready.
He's totally getting some in the morning because it's 'old wive's tales' time! I've been wanting to jump his bones the past few days anyway due to hormone surges and the fact that he keeps getting emotional too. It is so awesome seeing how ready he is to meet our son.
I still haven't finished the nursery. I figure if I don't finish it I will be "unprepared" and he will arrive on time. For some odd reason, if I finish the room I feel like he will go 42 weeks for sure. It is totally irrational.

This gives me hope. My guy is big already so I don't want him to get too big before pictures.
I finally pooped! I feel like I gave birth, I feel so much better! It hurt when I would sit down so I am so thankful to have it be gone! Yes lots of exclamation points but damn do I feel better.
I went to bed after feeding LO at 9pm and my husband gave the baby a bottle of pumped BM at 11pm, so I got to sleep from 9-2! It was amazing. When I woke up I was painfully engorged, but pumped just for a min or two on each side to relieve pressure & so baby could latch. We don't plan on doing this every night but maybe just on the weekends so I have something to look forward to I so wish that it could be done every night but I worry about messing with my supply & the engorgement. Has anyone figured out a way to make it possible for your DH to feed baby while you sleep and pretty much miss a feeding?
I was able to convince DH to DTD even though I know it kind of freaks him out at this point... even though it was fairly uncomfortable (physically for me, mentally for him) I'm calling it a success!

I haven't started yet so I don't have all the details but here's the general idea from my pedi. She said around 3-4 weeks, pump after the first am feeding when your supply is highest and save it. Then you can sleep and that bottle replaces a evening feeding. I asked and she wasn't worried about it effecting supply.
Yesterday was my first day alone with the boys and it wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be! DH was supposed to start work again today, but got called in yesterday. I thought for sure I was going to have a meltdown... but I didnt! And even though DS1 (who's 16 months old) has been acting up since we brought home DS2, he actually acted a lot better with me than he has with DH being home too. Well, before I get too excited, let's see how today goes!
My mom and my grandmother are flying in today to stay until Saturday. This could be good or it could be a nightmare. My husband isn't fond of either.... My mom drives me crazy after a few hours... But I'm hoping it goes great.
June '14 September Siggy challenge- Favorite things about fall
C nursed!!! He's had a bad latch and I've struggled with supply so we've been getting frustrated and I've settled on pumping. I fed him this morning and sat down to pump. He was still acting hungry so I thought we'd try. He had a great latch and seemed satisfied when he was done! Small victories!
My dad is coming from California to visit today! He is only staying for 2 days but I'm so excited for him to meet J. I'm a little nervous about bf'ing in front of him though
My nipples! I don't have much to complain about these days because this baby is pretty amazing, he isn't fussy, he sleeps great, we have slept great, DH is the best and most helpful dad, but the one thing I can bitch about are my nipples, omg they hurt so bad! The initial latch and first 30 seconds of nursing are the worst! I just have to tell myself that it will get better, it has to get better.
Also DH laughs at me every time he latches on because he thinks my "ouch" face is funny and he knows I want to yell and swear. So last night he made the mistake of sitting to close to me while I was nursing so I reached over and gave him the worst titty twister, try and laugh at me again sir, I think he learned his lesson.
And another picture (yes I have been super AWish lately but I can't help it, I am a proud mama and he is so cute)

I nursed yesterday for the first time with other people in the room. It was a little tough to figure out but I didn't feel uncomfortable which surprised me. Not sure how BIL felt about it but o well. Only problem was she got too hot under the blanket so wouldn't eat.
When I was BFing in the hospital, I didn't give a crap who was in the room. I didn't even bother covering up. But since I've been home, I've oddly been really weird about it.
I have nursed in public and in front of visitors and at dinner with my DF extended family (with a cover or blanket). I just felt weird about my dad. J was hungry as soon as we got him though and it was nbd.
So I know I posted somewhere on Saturday that we were headed to L&D. Well here's an update, Briseis Vianney was born 6/21/14 @ 11:52 pm (we were almost born 6/22). I will post a birth story later but until here's a pic!
