Has anyone used this pump? How well did it work for you? If you used another type of pump, how did it compare to it? My Medela PISA just died this morning and I've been doing research all morning for a new pump. Reviews I've read say its just as good if not better than PISA. It costs $299 at Babies R' Us but there is currently a $50 mail in rebate through Ameda.
Thanks in advance.
Re: Ameda Purely Yours
I've heard they're good as well but haven't used one myself. Did you price check with other websites? Sometimes Babies R Us prices are so inflated! Can you use the rebate from anywhere? If so, here are some on amazon. One shows at $200 https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_29?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=ameda+purely+yours+breastpump&sprefix=ameda+purely+yours+breastpump

It's the same pump also manufacured under the brand Lansinoh (around $100) - they have really good customer service in my experience. I used one for over a year with no problems.
Oh and also check your local Target - they had Medela Freestyles on clearance for $94...
I used the Lansinoh double electric pump. From everything I've ever been told, it's the same as the Ameda Purely Yours. As I recall it's significantly cheaper, too (ranges from $145 or so to $185). Worked great for me, until I dropped it... then stupidly opened it, voiding the waranty. However, we got it working fine again even after that. Bonus is that (like the Ameda) it's a closed system, so you can buy one used if you'd like and get whatever parts you'd like to replace from Lansinoh.
Note - I just went to look it up for price range, and it looks like they now have another pump - the Affinity. That's not the one that I used so I can't speak to that model.
I have one- it didn't cost nearly that much though.
It's been a great pump- on its second baby without any issues
Amazon 1 or 2 day shipping? If you are part of Amazon Mom, it would be free.

My POS PISA just died two, and two replacements later I said screw it.
I researched, and went with the Lansinoh Affinity instead of the Ameda, because it had consistently better reviews. It's around $150 at Target, and so far I've gotten double my previous output each time I've used it. And the Medela bottles still fit, too, so you don't need to buy more storage bottles.

Check out AwayBabyEssentials.com - I ordered my pump from them online. Free shipping - SUPER fast!!! I think The free shipping is ground and I got mine the NEXT day.
and the prices were awesome - cheaper than anywhere else i saw. When you go there, you have to 'request a price list' first and they email it almost immediately and then if I recall correctly you order via email. It was very efficient and great. I highly recommend.
That's the pump I own. I used it fine with #1 while I worked. Pumped 3-5 times per day and didn't have too many issues with supply. Just a couple ounces short here and there once he hit 9-10 months. Extra pumping session helped.
Tried keeping mysupply up with this pump with #2 when he went on his strike last month. FAIL! Borrowed a symphony to get my supply back up. When I returned it and went back to the Ameda, my supply was going down again. I borrowed a PISA from a friend and am getting more milk with this than with my Ameda.
I always recommended the Ameda bc it's a piston style pump but the Medela works better for me. Plus it was the 2-phase expression which I really like. And you can get soft shields for it, I think.

I have the Lansinoh Double Electric (which seems to be the same as the Ameda) - I paid $103 from Amazon. I used it at home and a Symphony (hospital grade) in C's room in the NICU and got similar output between the two.
And they had great customer service - when I was losing suction (not dead, just less) then overnighted me all the replaceable parts for free as the first step of troubleshooting, which worked.
