  • I have a few that are more confessions but whatever I'll forget tomorrow. :P Dh has been helping a friend who is starting his own business and he's getting paid under the table. Not like $50 bucks here or there--think like $1500. I only feel slightly guilty.

I don't get how people are secure enough for open marriages. I'm fairly self confident in my appearance but the thought of my dh having sex with someone else makes me crazy jealous.

Plus, one perk of getting married was not having to be all paranoid about STD's anymore.
    And not having to date.

I don't get polygamous relationships and families that include children. I saw some story about it and I just think it's odd. I am not as open minded in my old age.

I just started season 2. I have to say though I'm all for (consensual adult) plural marriage being legal.
Me too! I'm on episode 4 or 5 I think? If it's consensual I agree too. But the Prophet being married to that young girl is just gross. Plus she's a nut job. Haha

I'm glad others share my chambray dislike. I hate it on adults.  My kids have some chambray items and I think it looks cute on them.

  • But seriously, I used to love them and think they were so sweet and charming. I'm glad they're enjoying their nice simpleton homeschool religious lives while they cash in their millions. Who paid for your log cabin, Jim Bob? I think the only reason they have a show is for the money, not to let America into their living room to view their honest good-hearted lives. It's like a glorified reality welfare system.

  • I think it's weird to grow out your little DD's hair and do nothing with it every day. I'm thinking of 2 5-year-olds who were in Lydia's class last year. Both had hair past the middle of their backs. One mom would pull her DD's hair back somehow each day but the other one never did. The girl was always pushing it out of face or trying (unseccessfully) to tuck it behind her ears. I get that some moms like their DD's hair long. Whatever. But dude, at least pull it back for school. That must be so annoying for the kid! When my kids wake up, the first thing they ask for is a pony tail because their hair is in their face. Hair all up in your face is annoying.

I'm pretty sure the money is just extra. I'm 1000% sure their show is about indoctrinating the TLC viewers to their version on Jesus.

Oh yeah? Huh... I used to think so too but not so sure anymore. I truly feel they couldn't afford their family so turned to a TV network. Just my opinion. They are just everywhere, it's annoying now. And with all of these kids getting married and having kids, this show will stay on for another 400 years. Well played, Duggars, well played.

  • @auroaloo, why don't you like bikinis on anyone?
  • I think bikinis look fantastic on some people. Not on me, even when I was 95lbs and a freshman in college. I hate string bikinis on everybody.

I know someone who has an open marriage. Her husband cheated on her several times and she actually thought it was a good idea to let him continue to sleep with other women and not have consequences. I almost feel bad for her but she kind of did it to herself.
I'm curious about this, does she get to go and do who ever she wants, or is it just a one way street? Does he openly tell his wife when he's going to the mistress? Is it the same person, or many different women?

Emma's hair is down 99% of the time. She lets me brush it, but doesn't like it styled. And even when it is styled in the morning it falls out. I've never seen hair quite like hers. It will not stay back no matter what I do! MIL says her hair is the same way. She could never get it to stay in an updo (fancy or ponytail or whatever) without it just falling out.

DD1 does let me "do it" sometimes, but it's down most often b/c she prefers it that way. Neither kid has ever woken up asking for their hair to be pulled back right away. There was a girl in DD's class this year w/ super long thick hair who loved her hair and wanted it long but hated pony tails.
I hate my hair in my face and on my neck so much. I wish i had the balls to shave my head or cut it really short. Hair is so overrated.

I just don't like the way they look, nor do I see the point in them.
Hmm. I get not having a preference for the way they look. But I think swimming in some bikinis makes way more sense than swimming in a skirt.
  • I think they're more comfortable, personally. I'm tall and a lot of one-pieces aren't long enough on me and give me a wedgie. Tankinis are a PITA to swim in, the fabric from the top always bunches up and I constantly have to pull it back down. And plus, it's hot out, so I prefer not to be swathed in a lot of material.

IDK, my opinion is that nobody looks amazing in any sort of swimwear past a certain point, so you may as well wear what's comfortable and what you feel good in.

But why a bikini over a full one? *shrug*
I like my tummy to be tan. Plus peeing is about a million time easier. One piece suits are the worst.
If we're being totally honest though, one piece suits are better for swimming. I can't tell you how many times I've dived into a lake and had my bottoms almost come off.

See, there's no reason for your tummy to be tan, it's just pretty skin damage. And I like tankinis just fine. So *I* don't see the point.

Right, but even if you wear sunscreen and follow sun safety you get tan in the summer. It's inevitable. I don't think any of us are wearing duggar style suits that cover our whole bodies. That extra six inches of skin isn't going to make any sort of difference whether you get skin cancer or not. I can tell you a bikini is a million times more comfortable and easier to wear than a tankini or one piece.

You can tell me all you want, that doesn't mean that I'm going to feel that way.

They make bikini bottoms with drawstrings for that very reason.

I know they do, but if I get them that tight then it's uncomfortable. If they're not that tight, they fall off when I hit the water.

That or even a bottom that's just the right size. I've never had problems with diving and I've been wearing two pieces since I was 12 (minus a few years here and there). Maybe a water slide or a beach with choppy waves, sure.

Ditto. I used to dive off blocks and a board in a bikini all the time and never lost my pants.

I must be doing something wrong ;)

Either way, I don't care what anyone else wears. If you like two pieces, tankinis, or one pieces, then who cares? It's more just of what the person is comfortable in.

Can we all agree there is a difference between getting burned or tan despite our best efforts and doing it on purpose?
Yes, though the damage is still the same, and KC said she likes her tummy tan, implying she does it on purpose.

I'm sorry I'm not buying that the skin damage is the same for someone who wears sunscreen daily and avoids peak sun hours to someone who lays on the beach for eight hours without sunscreen and burns. My complexion is one that inevitably tans so I'd rather my stomach match the rest of my body especially as it makes my stomach appear smaller when it's tan,

  • I'm confused as to why it matters if her stomach gets some sun when obviously she's already getting it on her arms and legs. So what if her tummy is bare?
  • I was thinking a mumu, but you're right. Burka provides face protection.
  • I can't stand when people bring outside fast food into another restaurant. And before all of you with special snowflake children pipe up...this is a teen eating hate chicken (fried in peanut oil) in a Mexican place...allergies, smallergies.
