Lol I love this so hard. I was 11 in 1990, so I was wearing bike shorts layered with shorty jean shorts, t-shirts with the circle clips and leggings w/lace on the bottom under my flowery baydoll dresses. By 94 I had added doc martins and velvet chokers to my babydoll dress ensembles, and wore my dad's jeans and flannels to school. He is 6'5". I also wore plastic baby barettes in an 'ironic' way and had overalls that I, of course only wore one strap up.
Donna Martin, is that you?
I was thinking Blossom or Six.
Yes with dopey hat and the giant sunflower.
Omg I have photos of me dressed like this....off to burn those!!
Haha... me too. With lacy black shorts, and a billowy, silky, green blouse, tucked in. Brand new outfit. I thought I was so stylin. My mom insisted on taking a picture.
This sounds cute. Like, I'd probably wear it now in 2014. Lol
I wear whatever I want. My go to hit the mall outfit is jeans, ballet flats or tennis shoes (suck it haters), and some sort of top. I wear trousers or skirts when I'm working. No I don't wear uggs because they're ugly. The idea that not wearing leggings or a bikini or maxi dresses means there's nothing left to wear is ridiculous.
I do like maxi dresses but drown in them since I'm 5'2". I am pleased to hear that you wear ballet flats. My fave!
And also, since I'm short, I think that's WHY I'm so obsessed with the skinny jeans & ballet flats combo. My jeans were always too long (flares) so I had to wear high heels. Now I'm comfy (the jeans stretch) and it's practical clothing for chasing after little ones. Old Navy sells their skinny jeans in "short" length, so perfect.
I am still hung up in whoever said they'd make a great 80s child...I had assumed most of us lived through at least some part of the 80s?? I'm wrong apparently. Scary.
That was me. I was born in 1991

I'm confused as to why it matters if her stomach gets some sun when obviously she's already getting it on her arms and legs. So what if her tummy is bare?
I don't care. I've got all the color I need :P
It was just a strange thing to say IMO. I've never known anyone to set out to tan their stomach.
FTR, I'm on team wear whatever you want.
I also said I don't care if people wear them, I just don't like them or think they look good. Just like I think Maxi dresses don't look good, but I don't care if people wear them.
But KCs stomach obsession is weird.
Lol, it's really not an obsession. Do you think people who like to wear mascara and eyeliner to accentuate their eyes since it makes them feel more attractive are obsessed and weird too? Certainly I'm not the only person who feels they look better with a little color. I don't lay out covering myself in baby oil for eight hours but we go to the beach 5+ times a week since we live less than ten minutes away. We avoid peak hours, use sunscreen and usually stay under ninety minutes but with that amount of time outside a tan is inevitable. I like my stomach and think some added color makes it look better (and not just my stomach but my face, legs, arms, etc)...is that really that unusual?
Eta: I am weird but not for this. :P it's no different than cutting/dying your hair, wearing makeup, losing weight, etc to improve your appearance.

You are my youngest brothers age! I was born in 1979. And totally late to this talk.
But stirrup pants/leggings were freaking AWESOME on weekends when we went roller skating! Because jeans always looked funny above the skates and I hated the feel. I could just slip on roller skates with stirrup pants. Unless I did the jean "roll up".. where you folded your jeans over and then did like 3 rolls. I know you all know what I mean.
One of my go to outfits this winter was black leggings and a chambray button down. Boom.
I wore a men's button down chambray over black leggings to a party when I was a junior in high school. I thought I was so original and I was looking cute. This was 91/92.
Glad to know that look is a classic
Thanks @AprilLVE
That is one of DD's favorite outfits, she wears it with her Frye motorcycle boots...she thinks she looks tough.

Yes see!! I'm just talking leggings, not stirrups and body suits you guys. Although, I would love for my black leggings to have lace at the bottoms. Madonna 4 Ever
