I think they're more comfortable, personally. I'm tall and a lot of one-pieces aren't long enough on me and give me a wedgie. Tankinis are a PITA to swim in, the fabric from the top always bunches up and I constantly have to pull it back down. And plus, it's hot out, so I prefer not to be swathed in a lot of material.

IDK, my opinion is that nobody looks amazing in any sort of swimwear past a certain point, so you may as well wear what's comfortable and what you feel good in.
I agree, but I have the opposite problem. I'm so short, I struggle to find anything to fit other than a bikini. I just bought one for this year and I am so happy with it.

I also said I don't care if people wear them, I just don't like them or think they look good. Just like I think Maxi dresses don't look good, but I don't care if people wear them.

But KCs stomach obsession is weird.

Ha. They're like nail stickers instead of polish? I like them because I pick at my nails if there's polish on them, but these can't chip, so I've had the sample on for over a week with no issue.

Ok when you said Jamberry wraps I thought it was like a sarong for summer.

Probably also an UO, but I absolutely hate flats. I think on just about anyone else they look good, but when I put them on it makes me gag. I just can't pull them off.

  • How do you people not know what chambray is? Nanda, yes, it's like light denim. Comes in different weights. Think work shirt, out on the farm. That sort of thing. They were really big in the 90's.

Well I usually wear boots, but if there isn't snow on the ground I will wear flats if I'm going to be mostly inside, like shopping. My feet get hot easily. I hate socks, so inside I wear flats all winter, like you would slippers.

  • Oh, yeah, I forgot about the tank tops. Old Navy ribbed, all of them. And I made up for it all when I went to the gym and did high impact aerobics in outfits that would make Rora recoil in horror.
  • PS: In my defense, I was born in 1989 so I was still very much a kid when I was wearing those hideous butterfly hair accessories.

Hey, I'm not the youngest one on the board! I always thought I was. And I had like 600 of the second butterfly clip. Look at its creepy eyes.

Early confession: If I knew where to get them I would get a bunch of them for DD for nostalgia.

Lol I love this so hard. I was 11 in 1990, so I was wearing bike shorts layered with shorty jean shorts, t-shirts with the circle clips and leggings w/lace on the bottom under my flowery baydoll dresses. By 94 I had added doc martins and velvet chokers to my babydoll dress ensembles, and wore my dad's jeans and flannels to school. He is 6'5". I also wore plastic baby barettes in an 'ironic' way and had overalls that I, of course only wore one strap up.

I'm a year younger, but yes to all of this. Leggings with lace at the cuffs? Had them in every pastel color you can think of. Overalls? Yes, especially with a cropped shirt. When feeling less punk, I wore white sneakers with my baby doll dresses, but I had a good ol' pair of doc martins too.
Also a year younger and +1 for velvet chokers and overalls with one strap. I distinctly remember a fight with my mother about wearing both straps. I was horrified that she obviously wanted me to be a social outcast.

  • My ass is always covered. Always. No undie lines, no camel toe, no uneven shirt. I wear leggings with boots and long sweaters, layered with a scarf or long necklace, and look pretty stylish. I also have a bubble butt so the tight leggings and tight sweaters look cute.

@auroraloo‌ what DO you wear? No leggings, no skinny jeans, no two-piece bathing suits... do you not wear flats or Uggs either? Stilettos? Sundresses? Not being snarky, but seriously what do you wear?

  • I just want to say today's UO was awesome ladies. I'm sorry I joined the club late. I am team wear what you want to the beach, but I will talk about you if it's a string bikini, especially if I can't see the strings.
Tan is skin damage, burning is awful and I am admittedly awful about reapplying sunscreen, would never lay out with the intention of tanning.
Skinny jeans are fine if not too tight because then length is less of an issue for me, flats are awesome!
I am still hung up in whoever said they'd make a great 80s child...I had assumed most of us lived through at least some part of the 80s?? I'm wrong apparently. Scary.
