@PoppySeedWindsor yes! All the emotions! Ugh I was ugly crying most of the night and this morning about LO not latching and breastfeeding woes. When I called to schedule an appt with the LC I was struggling not to cry on the phone with the receptionist. I should not be this irrationally emotional!
@michaelad3 I'm sorry you're dealing with them too but also, YAY I'm selfishly glad I'm not the only one.
And re: the receptionist; I made Merri's two month appointment today and the receptionist said, "You know..you're NEVER going to find ANYTHING with her name on it."
I bit her head off like I was a fat kid (pregnant woman/nursing woman?!?!) on cake.
I feel just like my grandmother whenever I sing "I'll fly away"... She used to sing with her family as part of a group at fairs when she was young She's 87 (had her certificate changed to say a year older though when she was 15 so she could work in the bomb factory), and my grandpa is 91. Funny old folks They met DS last weekend, and they were just hilarious with him My grandma is me best gal
ETA Holy crap ALL the smiles. Appurently this is a gooood margarita.
So DH got the official word today that a promotion he's been expecting will take effect in January. I have mixed emotions about this. This means he'll be less involved with the account he's at right now (no more 15 hour days for weeks on end) but he'll be supervising several other accounts outside of our area so he'll be traveling more. The raise means I could go part time if I wanted but I'm not sure I want to do that to be honest. I like having something that's just me.
Oh, and the reason it was made official today? They want him to travel to Lincoln NE this weekend to check an account out. So guess who's driving in the car 7 hours with an 8 week old?
DS just took a pumped bottle (I'm having a margarita), he's in his swing after a good walk-around-the-house burping session, and I'm singing to him the soundtrack from O Brother, Where Art Thou. Did I mention the sun is shining and the world is green? Not a bad afternoon for my little 7 week old
Go to sleep little baaaaaaabye. Go to sleep little baaaaaabye.
I sing this to LO all the time! It's my favorite! I like to say daddy instead of devil.
YESSSSS! Me too...although it depends on my mood :-)
I feel like I don't want to have sex again ever. I look like mushed assholes, I haven't worn makeup in days, my hair is gross and I'm pasty as fuck right now. I should get a nanny that helps me around the house and doubles as a mistress for DH, then we'd all be a lot happier!
Mushed assholes. Hahaha. Exactly. )
I actually *feel* like I look awesome. Probably because I was so huge and used to being so enormous and now I'm not. So by comparison I feel really skinny..... And am like
But then I catch a glimpse of myself in a mirror or window or see a pic of me and dd and I'm all like
and then I do this
Hahahahahahahah perfect gifing! Hot damn you captured my life
September Siggy Challenge: What I Sing in the Shower: Little Mermaid "Part Of That World"
Anybody else experience post partum hormones come back with a fucking vengeance and a half? My afternoon was ripe with emotions and unableness-to-deal-with-normal-day-stress/shit hormones that were as powerful and ass-kicking as Bruce Willis ala Die Hard combined with Danny Glover and Mel Gibson in EVERY Lethal Weapon movie combined.
Just got DSD's final kindergarten report card in the mail. Completely baffled at how she can get "outstanding" for speaking and listening, when at home she can't seem to listen for shit.
What?!!?! You could've been on love it or list it?!? That is so cool!!
Also I love the property bothers! That and Yard Crashers are my favorites!
Yeah I was so disappointed! I was like 'you can come reno my new house.....enh?' but no dice. We were never going to keep the house regardless of the renos, we just figured it would add value to the property which is what most people do. A friend of mine was on the show and she told us that they have them say 'we'll love it' AND 'we'll list it' and the producers decide which ending to air.
HGTV lies!!! I've heard house hunters actually have their house picked before they look at the others too
So DS is 6 weeks, 5 days old. Can the 6 week growth spurt be just sleeping a lot? I'm holding my breath and waiting for him to be super cranky and terrible...the last 3 days have literally been the easiest since we've had him. He just eats, naps for 2-3 hours, repeat. Long stretches at night and everything, despite the long naps. If he's awake, he just quietly looks around...I love it but I'm wondering if this is his growth spurt or it's yet to come?
Jealous. Enjoy it, don't question it and can you have him call Emma and tell her that day napping is a good thing?

Haha! I know I've totally just jinxed myself. He's going to wake up vomiting blood and spinning his head around now...curses

That's how B was last week at six weeks. Long naps, sleeping all night. This week it is just catnaps, but she is still sleeping at night, so I can't complain.
FFMC: I think the wonder weeks are crap. And kinda growth spurts too. I mean, it's nice to have something to blame for cray cray baby behavior, but sometimes there is no reason for our kids being BSC. Not because science/growth spurt/wonder week. Because baby.

I definitely understand that sometimes, yea, baby be cray. But when like 100+ babies all hit crazy periods all at once, and are then doing/learning the same/similar new things right afterwards, it's kind of hard to ignore. That was my experience with DS' BMB anyway.
True. But with myself at least, I wonder how much the power of suggestion plays into it. If I weren't on TB, I wouldn't know about any of that stuff and wouldn't have any expectations about when the cray would occur.

Oh shit. In laws are selling the farm which means we are spending July 4th weekend there. Child sleeps swaddled in crib every single night. Child hates PnP and will wake up from a dead sleep screaming while in it. Gaaaah!
So unofficial RTT poll: do I try to teach him to sleep in the PnP, risking crappy sleepless nights for us. Or do we take the RnP for night sleeping and hope for the best?
I hate hate hate the idea of having to take a 5hr roadtrip with a 2.5 month old. I have no idea what he'll be like in a month or how he is going to react to being away from home. We JUST got him into a rhythm of sleeping in the crib and a quick nighttime feed/change before going back down for another 3-4hr sleep. I'm tempted to agree and tell DH he is responsible for the MOTN feedings since he wanted to take this trip...
You know you're getting old when the slang of the day hurts your eyes and ears. I wanna be down with "cray," but I totes can't quit you, z. Speaking of z's, (see what I did there?) kiddo was definitely out until the very second the white noise on his bouncy seat stopped, and his eyes popped back open. Dangit, kid.
@Stace0616 I vote stick your head in the sand about the baby mechanics of the trip for a few weeks since guessing what baby behavior will be like is like guessing how many jelly beans are in the jar... You're probably wrong and you don't even get to eat the damn candy. Enjoy what is working now and stress over the trip a few days before you leave.
DH and I drove back from his parent's farm today. Some of you may recall the hot mess of a drive out there I posted about. Drive back was waaaay better. To help ensure a more successful drive, I rode over half the trip in the back with Aiden to make sure he stayed happy and/or asleep. He only woke up a few times during the three hour drive, and Froggy Wubbanub saved the day during those times.
@Stace0616 I really wouldn't worry. We take a lot of road trips and my dd has never had any issues with her routine being disrupted. Especially when they're so little- as long as you're there, LO will be fine.

I was thinking the same exact thing. Worst $3 spent on an app yet!
So I had been on the "one and done" wagon... And even though he is still so little I'm already like "I want another one".... Someone knock some sense into me... But it also got me wondering who will be the 1st A14er knocked up again??? >>not it<< #-o
Oh and @KendraColeslaw you came to ATX? We could of had a baby meet up! Next time...</p>
I'm scared it's going to be me. We have been horribly careless and it took us so long to get KU the first time I feel like it would just be a big cosmic joke. "Oh you want more babies? How about another right away!"

Are there any RTT's out there? Or Wichita maybe?
