H is helping a friend brew beer. And he is in love.
I imagine there will be equipment purchases in my near future.
MH homebrews (cider, not beer) and the equipment expense is really minimal. Just the 5-gallon jugs, the yeast, the vent thingies for the top, the corker and bottle capper, siphon, bottles, all of which are pretty cheap. You can also get a thingie to test the alcohol content but we're lazy and don't do that. :-)
So what you're telling us is that you drink 40 proof cider?
Possibly more as he jacks it by putting it out on a subzero night and throwing away the chunk of ice that forms on top......
All the talk about LO's being baptized made me happy :-) DD2 was baptized a couple weeks ago - my cousin flew in and baptized her, which was really cool. We had a great time and it was so special to have him here. Had to attach a pic of her happy face!
DS1 is having an epic meltdown and is screaming and screaming while DH has him in a basket hold to keep him from hurting himself or destroying everything in sight. DS2 is super super fussy. My ILs are on their way down to have birthday BBQ for DH. I just can't deal with today. I want to run away and hide. I want to go somewhere quiet where no one needs anything from me.
Instead I will be here trying to put on a good face and entertain the ILs (I actually really like my ILs today is just overwhelming) and not cry.
Married 11/23/11, TTC starting 10/12, BFP#1 11/30/12, Adoption of stepson finalized 03/19/13,Loss of our daughter at 20w4d due to incompetent cervix 03/27/13, BFP#2 06/28/13, DS2 born 3/1/14.
Ok DS1 finally calmed down (over an hour of screaming and raging) and is now passed out napping. DH took DS2 so I could pump. The ILs haven't arrived yet so I am pumping in quiet and regrouping. Parenting is so hard sometimes and heartbreaking when your child is struggling and you can't magically make it better for them.

I have had to have several Pinterest interventions with myself.
Although I've had two really successful Pinterest parties. I invited a few of my girls over. Bring a dish you made off Pinterest and a craft you want to try from Pinterest.
Really fun!!! (All pre Fallyn but I'm not opposed to having another party)
@FarmBoysWife - do you find that they really work? I'm returning to work next week and am starting to freak out about my supply and pumping at work and having enough for him at childcare, etc.
I had to have this talk with DH: Don't ask me what I want you to do if you're just going to say you don't want to do it. Instead just get out of my way.
I mean really I asked my mom to come down because I knew he wouldn't even be down with just tending to the baby all day so I can try to get our house in some sort of working order.
He loves Jackson very much, and I Iove him (my husband) very much, but I honestly think it would be easier to be a single mom most days one less person to clean up after and plan around.

If I drink enough water yes! If I'm having a busy day and hardly drink.. No.
Gotcha. I've been rocking the water thing, so hopefully I can keep it up at work. One other question, regarding oatmeal - is the instant flavored stuff sufficient to help or does it need to be from rolled oats, unflavored, etc?
Hmmm... It seems like lo's diapers are always pretty green... I didn't know that was wrong. Crap looks like we are gonna have to work on keeping him interested in staying on longer
Ebf baby poop is green today, anyone know any possible reasons or have this happen? I'm not too worried just wondering, I didn't eat anything weird I haven't eaten in the past I don't think
@WisconsinCheese12 Green poop could be more foremilk than usual, but it could be food.
My LO has had a few days, though not consecutive days, where every diaper was green poop. Some of those days he has been basically attached to my boobs all day long. (For that reason, I don't believe it's too much foremilk, since he'd be getting a lot more hind milk being attached all day)
My other two kids would have green poops if I ate seafood, especially shrimp. I don't remember noticing if LO had green poop after I had shrimp 2 weeks ago. I'll have to pay attention next time.
I wouldn't worry too much unless it remains green for more than a day or two. (I say a day or two based on my kid that poops 4-6 or more times a day)
@Aturl EBF baby poop can have many colours and consistencies. Most frequently it's yellow (bright or pale), but could be orange or even greenish, though frequent green could be a bad sign. It could be seedy looking (like sesame seeds), creamy looking (like sour cream), or lumpy (like cottage cheese). Each baby has their own 'normal'.
Colton has had green poop for the past week or so. I know he is getting the right blend of fore/hind milk. His pedi wasn't concerned and his weight gain is great. Idk he isn't showing any signs of anything going on either. But man is it staining the cloth dipers!
We just had our first post-baby date night! My parents came up to visit (they live about four hours away) and offered to watch A for the evening.
MH and I took our boat out on a local pond. We have this 12-foot plastic oversized bathtub of a boat with a dinky 5 horsepower lawnmower engine of a motor that backfires like a gunshot when you cut it. We brought a picnic dinner. MH fished and I bird-watched until dark, then we went out for dessert and drinks.
Got back to find out that A had NOT CRIED AT ALL and spent the evening cooing, wriggling on his blanket, and smiling at his adoring grandparents. Also my mother had swept the kitchen, found my missing car keys, cleaned vacuumed and spot-cleaned my car, and planted my wilting seedlings I hadn't had time for.
I am jealous of the baby free nights! I have been trying to get Colton to sleep since 7 when our bedtime routine starts. I am exhausted, he usually goes to sleep with no problems by 9/9:30 but not tonight. He is still awake in his crib but not crying he is LAUGHING! Ugh why does he have to be so cute so late at night?!?!?!
I'm sooooo glad today is over! After worrying and stressing about today ALL WEEK, we got Holland blessed today, our luncheon went off without a hitch, AND I ended up renting a venue instead of trying to cram 60 people into my house! Here's an AW pic!
That's being said, I loved seeing all of our family that was able to come. I'm excited for the family reunions to come this summer! :x
I want all the wine!!!!!!!!!!!! DH has his 9th day in a row of work tomorrow the. Off tue work wends off thurs and back for 5. He's non negotiable grouchy. Which means we had a spiff and I cried a lot! I keep telling myself it will be less stressful soon and we just need some time at home. We have yet to spend a set of his days off together at home since LO was born Pretty sure we need to stop neglecting our home and have our own family time
I'm having a glass if wine IN bed to make myself feel better
@angelsnight headed up the sunshine mission. We could use your help/advice here, please!
@bunnyfungo, @kirotea, sure thing. Last time I just PMd the loss mom and explained the idea behind the mission. I made sure to explain that only I would have her address since I know giving out your address to a bunch of strangers is a scary thing. It took a while to hear back from her since she wasn't around much, but honestly this type of gift never "expires". Even if we cannot get Caroline's mama the sunshine gift for a couple months, it will be appreciated. Sometimes stuff like that is better after some time has gone by....most of the condolences have stopped coming in, everyone else has gone back to their every day life. It's a nice pick me up on a random day once the hoopla has died down.
Once I got her ok and her address, I posted a thread and asked people to PM me if they were interested and I then replied back with my address so they could send their contribution (everyone promised not to stalk me, and I did leave my last name off, not sure if that would do any good but ya know). I googled the loss mom's city to see what kind of restaurants/stores were in the area so I could give suggestions of what to give if people wanted to send a gift.
Most people sent sympathy cards, some sent giftcards for restaurants so they could get out of the house for an easy dinner, some sent small remembrance gifts, I included a bag of chocolates (my sunshine mission gift after our loss had delicious chocolates and it was a nice comfort).
Once everything was confirmed, I gave people about a month to send me their contributions, and once I was pretty sure I had gotten them all, I packed it up and sent it to her. Tag me if you have any more questions, thanks for getting this going!

@kirotea I vote nay if she's not active on our board.
This.
This- with the amendment of if she becomes active here- she can come there. @bandteacher or @DaisyCat11 maybe @bunnyfungo could vouch in my book.

I'm not part of the Facebook group, but I feel the same as what FBW posted. If the 'applicant' becomes active here, then you could see what they are like, THEN add them later.
They may even change their mind about joining after getting to know us. lol.
Ok. I'll respond to her message with something like "Sorry, I can't see where you've really been active on the March 2014 BMB. Please feel free to join in more conversations there and once other BMB members are comfortable enough with you, you'll be able to join the FB group at that time."
Re: The Randomest Thread
How do i intro to parenting? Anything specific?
Do i not need to and just jump in like on our board?
I want to join in their harry potter discussions!

Edit- paragraphs
Good news is that I was able to pay by CC for almost all of them so I got the points.

I'm also happy to go back go keeping up with TB. Cleaning my house and going food shopping everyday really cut into my bump time!
