@TallAsh I hope your first shift back is going well!
@LakeCountryGal I would be livid if MH said something like that to me. LIVID. You can pry my food from my COLD DEAD HANDS, JACKASS. Also: pot? Kettle? Black?
If not, though, I also love this Middle Eastern cookbook, "Jerusalem." The recipes look complex but most (MOST) are actually simple, though often time consuming (these are more weekend recipes for me) and it requires 95% supermarket ingredients: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/1607743949/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1400942753&sr=8-1
Last but not least is my favorite cookbook ever, "The Art of Simple Food": https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/0307336794/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1400943006&sr=8-1 It does have lots of dairy, but also has lots of recipes without, especially lots of delicious ways to prepare vegetables AND the best technique for roasting a chicken ever. 100% basic grocery store ingredients.
This and Every Grain of Rice are my two go-to for weeknight recipes.
@LakeCountryGal - what your DH said makes me so mad at him! Jerky thing to do, especially to the mother of his child... Take care of yourself and ignore stupidity... Hugs!
@farmboyswife that happened to me about two weeks postpartum. Dr. Told me to take Benadryl and said it was likely hives due to stress and hormones. The Benadryl worked, and I slept great
H is helping a friend brew beer. And he is in love.
I imagine there will be equipment purchases in my near future.
MH homebrews (cider, not beer) and the equipment expense is really minimal. Just the 5-gallon jugs, the yeast, the vent thingies for the top, the corker and bottle capper, siphon, bottles, all of which are pretty cheap. You can also get a thingie to test the alcohol content but we're lazy and don't do that. :-)
@WoodShopGirl Sophie finally slept last night after I swaddled her up right. She hates being swaddled so I left her arms out and then wrapped them in after she dozed off. She still wants to be held though, so we're baby wearing all day today. Glad there's some light at the end of the 8 week tunnel! (But she gets shots the day she turns 9 weeks.)
For us, shots were nothing compared to the 8 week leap. Have some hope!
@DisneyAddict1 coming from someone with extreme sensitive skin, don't forget about your own clothes. If your LO is really sensitive he will also break out from being held up against you. (Hope I am not creating more laundry)
I am so bad that when I was in HS and borrowed a friends top I looked like a strawberry for 2 weeks.
Probably not yeast if not from boobs or vag! Is there a rash similar to James??
Nope- different. His is like pimples, mine are just raised bumps. No discoloration no white heads. Usually I only get it on my hands but this year it's been all over.
That sounds like hives! Take a Benadryl. But it's likely all stress related!!
I was going to say, I bet it's stress related. Claritin may work too without the grogginess, maybe?
So it's official. My baby is going to be more fashionable then me. She already has a pair of shoes that cost more than any pair of shoes I've ever owned. They were a gift from my husband's aunt. Baby dior shoes.
Why a baby needs a pair of designer shoes, I have no idea. But now she's got 'em.
OMG if LOs got a gift like that I would so EBAY it in a heartbeat and buy something useful.
I won't lie. I considered returning them and putting the money into a savings fund for her.
She could probably wear them once bc it isn't like she will get dirt on them. Then return and say they didn't fit.
I just had a "date" at sephora... And I spent way too much and I feel super gulity... Like $122. How am I going to explain this to DH I feel selfish.... Halfway..
Eta: I think I may take some of it back... I just feel too gulity spending that much
1.) There are several Trisomy 13 charities and foundations. We could all individually donate in Caroline's honor.
2.) I think Mobius bracelets are very beautiful. A few places do custom ones. Maybe Caroline's names, dates, and an appropriate verse (I think she is religious?)

Claritin I THINK is on the "dries up milk" list!!!!!!
Idk if it dries you up but it's a category L1 (safest) on Kelly mom. I take it for allergies a few times a week. Haven't noticed a change.
anything with decongestant might dry you up. So, Claritin'-D.
I started bawling when I read that Caroline had passed. They were so blessed to have those 58 days when they expected to have none at all, but that probably makes it even harder to part with her. Poor, sweet baby. I'm so heartbroken.

My baby sister surprised us with Trisomy 18, 9 years later and I still miss her, and wonder how much life would be different with her around. My heart is aching for their family right now.
I'm so sad for her. I was ugly crying last night and took a sleeping LO out of her RnP to sleep on me because I just could not imagine what I would do If I lost her
I'm hungry but I don't want to get up and go find breakfast because lo is sleeping on me and she looks adorable. Mmm donuts or pancakes or my griddle, or..... I want it all!!!
All of that sounds awesome, I had friggen oatmeal, again...
Mh is getting a new/used truck today. I get stuck at home with all 3 kids again. I haven't been out of the house since Friday morning for a doctor appointment. I am going crazy!!!!!
My daughters baptism is next Sunday. I ordered two gowns offline to see which I preferred lol.
Can I complain about clothes for a second? LO was in NB size until about 6 weeks. She's now 8 weeks and all 0-3 are too small already! ALL of her summer clothes are 0-3 and I have A LOT of summer clothes. I'm going to have to return them all. Stop growing already! I didn't not expect that she'd only be in 0-3 for two weeks.

@bennieangel speaking of food, I am currently loving on this Chinese cookbook, "Every Grain of Rice." The recipes are super simple but many do require that you have access to an Asian grocery (most cities do --- tiny Burlington VT has THREE) https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/0393089045?pc_redir=1400677355&robot_redir=1

My aunt said to mia "hers is sleepy"
With a singing baby voice.
Thats a turkey right there. Incorrect grammar, singing baby voice.
So annoying.
That's how it started with mh! Now we have this huge contraption setup going on at my house.

I hate the term AF with a passion. It is a period. And on that note, you have your period, you are not on your period.

Hold your babies tight.
My heart aches so bad that baby Caroline passed away.
(See the thread)
Tears are flowing all over.
