My husband is quitting World of Warcraft :-D. Of his own accord. Partly because he's swamped with work, will soon be swamped with toddler/baby, and it's beginning to feel like an obligation...and partly because it's $15 a month that we just don't have right now. I'm so fucking excited! I know it doesn't mean forever, he's quit twice before and gone back, but generally it lasts about a year and that's huge. I literally smile every time I think about it.
Whoa, really? My sister and BIL both play, so I know how big it is to quit, even just for a short period of time. I can understand your excitement!
DD1: June 2014 - VBM4lyfe DD2: October 2016 DC3: coming May 2019
ElTrain5 - WHERE is Magnolia bakery?? Sea Salt + Caramel is my kryptonite and I suddenly have to have that cookie. I totally know my first stop after I leave the office today, I don't care if it's in Indiana!
On state!! Just a block or two north of lake. Ah-maaaaz-ing!!
Also, I've kind sorta had it with randoms on the board today. When can we start voting people off the island?

I'm so happy for u! My ex was obsessed with WoW so I totally get it. I think he had more intimate relationships with random trolls than he did with me.
I think I've figured out my work/home balance and I'm so excited! I've been dreading the whole working full time thing, but financially we need my income. So I've been brainstorming how we can manage me working part time and I'm pretty sure I've found the answer! Now I'm just hoping my company will go for it!
Guise, what do you think about doing the AW/SS/Random thread once per week instead of twice? I'm thinking that way it won't clutter the board so much since everyone around here is poppin' out zee babehs! Thoughts? Opinions? Thin Mints?
Double stuffed Oreos.
I'm down for whatever. That's probably a good idea.
----------- Did you guys see they have watermelon Oreos for the summer? I love the taste of artificial watermelon so I love them. Just sayin'.
I recently got a package of Berry Oreos and they were excellent!
This is my husband's big fear. DD's labor was under 6 hours and I progressed really quickly. The hospital is 45 minutes away and there's usually some intense traffic so he is freakibg out about getting there in time. We have lots of trash bags and clean towels in the car just in case.
ETA: trash bags are to protect the car from fluids. Gross
Here's my super lurker AW post... 5 weeks to go and we have no nursery. We live with BIL and he is currently living in the room which will be the nursery. He's been remodeling the Master Bedroom (which used to be our bedroom) but it's taking FOREVER!!!!! He's now redoing the bathroom before moving in there and we're running out of time. We know LO won't know one way or the other if she has a nursery but all I want to do is nest!! And get the dog used to the baby's stuff...
Not looking for replies just wanting to be a SS and rant about it!
And congrats to all the other ladies welcoming their LOs this week!

This is why I am terrified that we live an hour away from the hospital. And that's when DH is driving like a madman through potholes and such which I told him CAN'T HAPPEN when I go into labor. So more like an hour and 15. All because DH wanted the boys born at the same hospital he was born at. Meh.
Diagnosis is in, MIL has bacterial meningitis. They are still narrowing down what strain it is. She's still basically comatose and DH is still with her halfway across the country. He got himself antibiotics last night at the recommendation of the infectious disease specialist. I talked to my MW office and they said the likelihood of me and baby being at risk when he gets back is slim so that's at least a relief. I'm glad MIL has a diagnosis but we have not heard from the doctor yet so don't know what her prognosis/recovery might look like. DH sounded a little more optimistic today so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I wish we could transport her here.
This is why I'm glad I live 10 minutes from my hospital.
@whoberry I'm sorry meningitis is really scary, I can't imagine how you're feeling having DH half way across country so close to your due date and knowing your MIL is sick. T&Ps that the doctors can get her well soon and that your DH can come home before your LO arrives
@whoberry I'm so sorry you are going through this! You, DH, and his mom are in my thoughts! Hopefully the doctors will come up with a good plan and get her healthy.
@whoberry - I'm thinking of you and your family right now! I'm glad to hear she has a diagnosis, but I hope they can give a clear picture of treatment and recovery soon.

We don't have one either. Well, technically there is a room, and it is mostly painted but it has no carpet or light fixtures and isn't even in the same state as I am. I just got word that we are looking at a carpet install date of 2 or 3 weeks (I was promised up and down that I would be able to 100% have everything done by June 1...not anymore.). Since our move in date got pushed back 3 weeks everyone seems to think getting our new home done is no rush. In fact the whole place has no carpet and half of it is missing lights still.
@whoberry How scary for everyone. I hope they get everything figured out quickly so everyone can get on the road to recovery. I'm sorry all this is happening especially so far away from you with your due date so close. I'm sending tons of good thoughts and prayers your way.
See, and I totally wouldn't mind a labor fast enough or less painful enough that oops he came unexpectedly...as long as we were both healthy at the end of it . I have told this to dh on multiple occasions and now I think he's nervous I'm planning something like that on purpose. I'd never do it on purpose, but I have no problem with an oops!
Maybe i should save this for the UO thread later but I have to say that I'm glad that there are lurkers who want to share their births with us. It makes me feel like we're a safe community, where, even if they don't speak up on the daily, they still feel like they're connected enough to want to put the main event out there for us to share in.
The drive bys, though, they can shove it.
I for one totally appreciate this sentiment! I've been lurking throughout my pregnancy, posting here and there but not very active in the community. I think my real life social awkwardness has translated to the internet! I try to make an effort to contribute to the community when I can as I've been bumping more and more lately but as a FTM I'm usually at a loss when it comes to advice giving! You ladies are a fantastic support group though and as long as us lurkers take the time to see how the board works before posting, you are all very welcoming!
I sprained my ankle pretty badly about an hour ago. I was running around the house cleaning all day then took the dog for a quick walk. I got back to right in front of my house and then BAM. I caught myself from actually falling and the baby is moving fine, but i can't put any weight on my ankle and it's swollen like whoa. I think I need crutches but do not want to got to he hospital for a sprained ankle of all things! I have nesting to do I don't have time for this!

Edit to correct spell check.
That's how I feel too @meritmacalpine! It's like you read my mind.
Finally getting a moment to catch up a little. Holy baby weekend for the J14 group! We'd hoped to leave the hospital on Sunday but MJ lost tootoo much weight so Monday is our day. Once home I will hopefully get her birth story and more pictures up.
But more importantly I wanted to say I've missed staying in the loop with you all over the last 3 days! Probably good in some ways though because laughing, oh lord how it hurts the incision
Breastfeeding has taken over my life, literally... I love it, but it's taken over my dreams. I keep dreaming that I'm feeding, and then I'll wake up and freak out because I feel as though my baby is gone!
I haven't been getting much sleep, and running around too much.. My plan for us today is to lay in bed, feed, sleep, diaper change and repeat.
Sooooo... What you're saying is that you have time to sleep? Wanna borrow a twin? That will definitely keep you from *dreaming* about feeding! .
Gah I am so scared of this part of the twin thing! Sleep deprivation with one is hard enough!!!
@whoberry - thank you for asking! It's ok. Stilla little swollen so I'm just laying around doing nothing! If it's not better by tomorrow maybe I'll call my dr.
So I spent the afternoon at l&d bc I wasn't feeling baby move. Baby is fine! Just moved positions to face the back and i am feeling less obvious movement. Probably a little dehydrated too. 3 bags of IV fluids fixed that.
Anyway, during the BPP, the tech showed us the genitals bc we were too worried to remind them we didn't know the sex. Team Green surprise ruined at 37 weeks! I started bawling it's another girl! My DD will be so happy to have a sister.

Also, I'm not looking forward to working the next four days in the rain in outdoor beer gardens. Cranky.
