DH went back to work this week and his coworkers had a card with $200 in it, a giant box of diapers, a giant box of wipes, and a massive baby detergent. It was really sweet and unexpected! Today I am making them cookies.

Also, last night I was up for like 5 hours (thanks Max) but finally got to really look at some CD options. Those who use fluff...what is your experience with newborn simplex? Since Max is just about 6 pounds I feel like they have the biggest lifespan to use starting now until he fits one size. Also they seem relatively less expensive. Is it unrealistic to start with say 6 to get a feel for them? We have plenty of disposables right now anyway.

But for realz- all of this prodromal labor is annoying and I want it to go somewhere. What is with the typing like we are 15 and it's 2002? I'm feeling snarky today I'll play.

Breastfeeding has taken over my life, literally... I love it, but it's taken over my dreams. I keep dreaming that I'm feeding, and then I'll wake up and freak out because I feel as though my baby is gone!
I haven't been getting much sleep, and running around too much.. My plan for us today is to lay in bed, feed, sleep, diaper change and repeat.

My AW is that three coworkers have told me how lovely I look today . I'd post in the HDBD thread but I can't post a pic from mobile because I'm deficient. I'm wearing a super comfy black t-shirt material dress with a fancy necklace to dress it up. Rocking it.

I also got invited to the company dinner tonight, super fancy, I'm so excited for yummy food and a glass of wine

My boss told me to get and hand and foot massage and that pretty much guarantees that I'll go into labor. I had to just walk away.

I have two things.

1. I am meeting with a pediatrician today. I can't think of questions to ask. What should I be asking? I will be asking about circumcision, but that's all I got. H can't go with me and was no help when I was brainstorming.

2. I am freaked out about going back to work after baby. The thought of my child being in daycare more than with me is causing major anxiety. H was talking to his boss about it and was basically told not to expect any form or a raise for quite sometime (which is bullshit, he was recently "promoted" and didn't get an increase in pay, just responsibility). I had hopes that he would see some sort of raise that would at least make it possible to work part time. I feel so bad expressing myself to H because he so badly wants me to stay home. I've thought about selling my car to save the extra money.

@mrsdbc - I agree that SM sounds like she deserves a special WTW nomination for her behavior. She's being extremely selfish, which is fine I guess, but to then apply it to the time your dad gets to spend with you is just intolerable. I'd have a chat with your dad about it and see if he would still like to spend those extra days with you guys since he can. She made her bed, she can lie in it at home, alone, while grandpa gets to enjoy himself.

i used the questionnaire at this link. I didn't ask all of the questions, but it helped me figure out which ones mattered to me. I also asked random questions like whether or not they had parking (I live in Chicago, parking with an infant -> super important) and what their hours are.

Apparently there isn't a lot of evidence supporting it's effectiveness and it's use may, in fact, cause complications. Still, my midwives suggest it and I haven't decided yet if I will use EPO or not.

@lalala8‌ I just chugged my first glass of raspberry leaf tea this am and I'm 37 1/2 wks. Not sure how much to have but my midwives recommend it. I've also eaten 1 Lara Bar a day

@lalala8‌ I'm drinking yogi mother to be tea. Red raspberry leaf is the first ingredient. I don't know how useful it really is, but it tastes good. It's suggested to take 2-3 cups per day, I usually only drink 1, 2 if I remember.

@l alala8 - I'm doing Evening Primrose Oil (Barlean's brand). I started 1,300mg/day when I hit 37 weeks, and will up it to 2,600mg/day at 38 weeks.

Some of my fave crunchy mamas recommended breaking open the capsule and inserting the oil inside you to get close to the cervix... we'll see how desperate I get!

SS for sure, but my sons story popped up on CNN this morning! I am so proud of how far we have come since our ultrasound with him when doctors recommended terminating. I refused obviously, I knew they were dead wrong. I'm just so proud of him!!!

Yep - taking 500 - 1000mg of EPO orally. Drinking the tea whenever I remember, which is probably 2-3 days a week. Also eating my 6 dates a day. Figure it can't hurt.

In July we are going camping on a lake for 4 or 5 days. LO will be at least a month old at the time, I don't want to use chemical laden bug sprays and sunscreens on her. Any recommendations for natural bug repellents and sunscreens for babies? And any tips for camping/traveling (the drive is about 4 hours) with a one month old?

I am making the Essential Oil Bug Spray with Lavendar Oil for DD today. We're in Miami and the mosquitos are already around. I wanted something she could wear every day to summer camp, and I feel good about this recipe

YES!! Today is the big day! We are headed to the hospital in about an hour, and I will have my LB @puttyeast take over with updates throughout the day! Still praying that I am able to try for another VBAC, so if anyone is the praying type, I would really appreciate some good vibes!
