Kinda been going crazy on the baking/ making cookie dough to freeze so I can have deliciousness when LO arrives....DH just looked at me and asked "so is this pregnant lady prepping behavior?"...I gave him a blank stare.

it would have been my mom's 50th birthday today. she's been gone since February of last year, so this is the second birthday without her, but being pregnant just makes me even more emotional. so, I'm going to go make chocolate chip cookies and try to forget.

So sorry. I hope your day gets better. This is a really hard time to be without a mama. Hugs.
  • I don't know how to approach SO with who will be present in the delivery room. My grandma raised me and I want her in there with me... He, on the other hand wants it to be just us two.

My mom passed when I was 16 and being pregnant and due on her birthday (and we found out about babe on anniversary of her death)... Well it's a time I wish she could be here. I feel like I need my grandma in there with me, we've always been close and I know she expects to be in there, I don't know how to approach this with either of them!

    Ahh :(

I totally get it. I lost my mom suddenly about three years ago.  Little one is due on the anniversary of her death...if I had a female relative close enough to be here, I'd want them in the room with me. I've even thought of asking one of her partners (she was a midwife) to come out, but I feel strange asking. I just want her there.

  • I didn't want to make a SS post for this but I could use some positive thoughts and prayers. I noticed another TB member posted this today so I know I'm not the only one. My LO is usually super active. Like Kung fu fighting active. Today, I've barely felt anything, even after eating something spicy, drinking something sweet, and laying on my left side for an hour. I'm normally not too much of a worry wart but this does have me concerned. I'm going to wait a few hours to see if he perks up. If he doesn't, I'll head to the hospital.

Hugs to you both! It's hard enough thinking about having a baby without mom there, but to have such significant dates must be even harder. Honestly, I feel like you have every right to have whoever you want in the room with you. Your H will (hopefully) understand once you share the reason!

I'm only letting DH in the room, but if I had another female relative I was close to I would probably want them there too.

Have you been super active today?

Yesterday i had something like this. She was crazy quiet and it freaked me out. But i had been on my feet all day running errands, cleaning, and moving bedroom furniture. I told myself if she hadn't gotten active that night i was calling l&d in the morning. The second i laid down she went all crazy. I think she was being rocked to sleep by my movement.

Just something to consider, i was having crazy anxiety over it yesterday. Hopefully he starts wiggling all around soon. Please keep us updated.

I have the same exact thing happen- any day that I'm crazy active (yesterday I sold at a flea market with my bestie to clean house before the move), I have VERY little movement during, and honestly for a few hours after.  Invariably, I get my little ninja back when I finally settle in for a bit and stop moving for a while.  If you're ever worried, definitely call, but I hope you can take some comfort that several of us have had these experiences and all is well.

  • Thanks ladies. @helloblueeyes‌ I did go to the zoo with DD early this afternoon for a couple of hours but since being home, I've been lying down and trying to get him to move for me. And I have been drinking ungodly sweet cold juice to perk him up.
  • DH just got home from his week of travel. He's passed out next to my bed rest fort. I am filled with so much passion and love for this man. (Apparently yesterday was emotional downer, today is an upper lol)
  • For all of you lovelies that can't get enough of nurseries and/or history, here you are:

    STUCK IN GREYTOWN
I actually find that when laying on my sides he is like 'eh whatever' but when I move onto my back he starts going crazy. Either way, even if you feel him move tonight you can put a call into your OB. Peace of Mind is priceless.

  • I'm actually sitting here doing the Rhubics cube on google lol it's fun.
  • Thanks for all the encouragement. Thankfully, LO's movement has picked up enough to keep concern at bay. I will still be monitoring it just in case.

Glad LO started moving. I actually got a lecture from the perinatologist about movement today. He harped on about if I ever was even remotely concerned, I needed to go in and get checked out. He told some story about working at Duke and while there read every case ever about women who went in for lack of movement. He said the stats came out to 23 out of 24 women being fine, but how important it was that that 24th women went in. He said to never just go to bed if I felt that baby hadn't been active enough that day. This lecture, btw, was unprompted by me because I haven't had any concerns with her movement this far. So...he just must feel really strongly about this issue.

So my hip has been hurting today and I'm walking like a pimp. It was funny til my leg gave out and I peed myself. :( I thought I was going to go this whole pregnancy without doing that...
  • Ok...wasn't able to bump the last couple of days. I feel so lost when I try to catch up. Like every board gets away from me. I won't go back too far...but I do want to say a few things... Happy LO isn't concerning you anymore! Hoping for continued movement! @Artistmom30‌ Love the color combos @LiteraChick‌! Can't wait to see your completed nursery! Everything I see you order is adorable! @jnnfrrose6‌ Glad you're coming out ahead with your car and will be able to paint it. @jensavicci‌ I have a Rubiks cube app to play and teach me how to do it and I love it! @Tbags83‌ I'm so sorry to hear that! I hope you were at least somewhere you could easily change your pants with little embarrassment! And also...I definitely just squeezed hand soap on my toothbrush and put it in my mouth before realizing it...yea...that was lovely :) haha
    Oh man...that sucks!

I just tasted soap in my mouth from reading this!  :-S

  • Yea...it was definitely a tired pregnancy brain moment I guess :). That coconut lime verbena soap smells good, but I wouldn't recommend tasting it..lol. If you ever do though...rinsing with mouthwash afterwards helps :).

Our library is so slow sometimes getting books to me that I just finished The Museum of Extraordinary Things and am about to start The Husbands Secret.
