I'm going crazy trying to get everything ready for baby. We have two weeks left and there are a lot of things that in a perfect world I'd love to get done before LO arrives in order to make our postpartum life a little easier. Thought we could share what's on our "To Do" lists in order to help keep each other sane and maybe add things to our own lists that we never would've thought of. Annnnnnnnd go...
Re: Last Minute To Do's
Ha! I have way more on my list but remembered halfway through posting that when I'm mobile bumping it never seperates my lines like I want it to and I didn't want a gigantic paragraph of mumbo jumbo to pop up. That'll stress me out. Perhaps I have OCD. Lol.
I'm with @lalala8. We haven't even bought our car seat yet. Granted, I've got 4 weeks, give or take, not 2. I wanna see everyone's to do lists though! Maybe they'll help prevent panic?
(Or cause it...)
DD1: June 2014 - VBM4lyfe
DD2: October 2016
DC3: coming May 2019
- Returns, go shopping for few last minute things (more yoga capris, food for freezer meals)
- Make another few freezer meals and granola bars
- Have hubby pick up his crap in the dining room
- Have hubby pick up my crap in the craft room lol
- Hang decorations in nursery
- Deep clean carpets and have housekeeper come by
- Pack some snacks for hospital stay
- Hubby needs to pack his bag
- Get mani/pedi and hair done done
- Put pillows, BFing pillow, cooler with snacks, etc in the car when we get closer
To be honest though I'm at the point where even if this stuff didn't get done, wed be ok.

Those are the things that are stressing me out, TBH. The other stuff isn't too bad:
-bring dog to vet
-ask neighbors' housecleaner if they'll come do a good cleaning before baby
-install car seat
-put together bassinet
-send some thank you notes
-order breast pump
-do a couple of good food shopping trips - our cupboards are bare
Not too bad, right? I have about 5 weeks, hopefully. Like I said, it is the other stuff that is killing me. Mostly that porch and deck!
Eta: that looks good. I just wanna eat bacon and whine. I'm so freaking tired!
Get cradle, swing and carseat out of attic and cleaned.
Wash and sort 11 trash bags' worth of clothes.
Buy diapers.
Order breast pump.
As y'all can see, I have literally not done a single thing. DH's job has been slow so we have been broke and therefore have not bought a single thing. Literally. She is being delivered June 12th, LOL. Anyone else completely ill-prepared? Or am I the sole slacker?
And organizing cupboards, scrubbing floors, washing blinds, etc. Possibly rent a steam vacuum.
OH and I still need to mentally prepare for labor and delivery. Yikes!
1. Pack my bag
2. Pack hubby's bag
3. Finish washing baby crap
4. Clean the baby room so I can actually walk in it
5. Get blinds and make curtains for baby room
6. Install car seat base
7. Wash dogs
8. Clean..pretty much the entire house
9. Freezer meals still need to be made
Blah. I don't feel like doing any of it...
- Install car seat and inspect
- Take breastfeeding class
- Take first aid and newborn CPR class
- Buy a few things for labor bag (dermoplast, more pads, witch hazel)
- 2 or 3 more freezer meals
- Buy snacks from trader joes for labor
- TDAP next week
- Take dogs to vet and groomers so we don't have to worry about them for a little while
I was sure to mention everything I've been doing in my two page baby-prep list, not to mention the past 9 months of growing the baby, and what I'll do to get her here, but yes, those 5 tasks were really a lot to ask! Ugh, sorry, sore subject today!
My list:
- find pediatrician (I seriously need to get this done!)
-find diaper bag
-finish the last details in the nursery, just hanging things
- make padsicles
- prepare some freezer/dump meals
- deep clean my room
- take dog to groomer
- clean and organize guest room
Holy guacamole that's a long list! Good thing I have a long weekend this week and next!
IF, 5 losses, 1 son, 1 on the way.
-shampoo carpets
-costco for disposable dishware
-paint nursery/hang decor
-assemble crib
-Trader Joe's for frozen meals (I give up on thinking I'm making any)
-clean out freezer
-install car seat and have it inspected
-assemble pack and play
-shower thank you's
-pack hospital bag (everytime we go to do it I run out of energy)
I love lists

We are first up to clearing out the 2nd bedroom. I'm trying to impress upon DH that I can really only work 10 minutes on a time before my back says "yeah... let's be immobile." We need to re-do the floor, paint, clear out our closet, cry about all the things that will never get done.
In the Jewish tradition that we follow, we won't have anything baby-related in the house unless there is a baby there to need it. So there's that.
