  • @lia619 we also did square announcements! $.70 a piece for postage, ridiculous.

  • When DD is really exceptionally fussy the only thing that works is walking with her in the Ergo. There should be a machine that stimulates that movement. I would pay good money for it.

The MamaRoo?? Someone gifted one to us. Best baby item we own.
Ooh really? I assumed it was kinda like a swing and the swing doesn't work. Is it more than that?
  • Well shitty mother of the night award goes to me. DD has been a fussy butt ( our nickname for her when she is like that) for almost two hours. I tried the swing, I tried feeding her, and I tried snuggling. Nothing worked. Finally I get up and decide to finish packing for tomorrow so I put her in pjs. I change her diaper and she has another huge poop. I basically let her sit in poop for hours today. I'd be fussy too if I had to sit in that...
  • Having a big bbq this weekend and need some dead animal ideas! I dont usually serve meat, but people get disgruntled when they travel 45mi. for a Boca burger :/ Plain box burgers? Chicken burgers? Wings? WHAT DO PEOPLE WANT?
I'm veggie too, but DH always makes burgers with a pat of butter in the middle to keep them juicy. It's a trick we got from a chef friend! Also, no one travels for a boca burger - Morningstar spicy black bean burgers are the best! :P Boca was my go to until I discovered those. Yum!
I agree!  I am a full-on meat eater but love the spicy black bean burgers!

  • Getting into bed has gone from painful, to uncomfortable, to "ok". Now, if LO could get the memo and sleep longer stretches by the time I get to "feels good", that would be awesome.

Semi-related question: green+frothy=fore/hind milk imbalance, but what does yellow+seedy+frothy mean?
A had a poop fountain during his last change and while the end result was normal yellow/seedy poop, it was clearly foamy as it came out.
(He also made a pee fountain and spit up on me after the diaper change was over prompting an outfit change for both of us).

I dunno, but I've seen this from C, too.  I guessed it wasn't anything to worry about since it didn't persist, but I have no idea what it means.   :-/

LO's poop is always yellow and seedy. I think this is normal for BF babies.
  • Gave LO her medicine for acid reflux tonight and she HATED it. She spit a bunch of it out and screamed bloody murder for a minute or two. I am currently EBF. Any tips on how to make it less traumatic? I hate to make her go through that twice a day...

Same boat. I squirt it into his cheek and then try to latch him on to nurse ASAP. He screams and tries to spit it all. Why would they make a baby med mint when babies clearly hate mint?!
  • I talked to 2 people today about home care. I have a good feeling about one of them. She was a nurse, stays home now and homeschools her teenage daughter. She comes highly recommended by a woman whose daughter was in my class when I was in daycare. Praying this is a good fit.
I sent DH and LO to bed early and I am still up. Why am I doing this to myself? I have a hair appointment tomorrow at 10 so I need to go to bed! Time for me to go cliche and chop off my hair!
Anyone else cutting off their hair now that you have had your baby? I swore I wouldn't and now I just want a fresh start!

Thinking about it. LO keeps pulling my hair and spitting up on it. :-/

Do you have a yoga ball? Bouncing on mine with LO seems to make him just as happy as walking him. I wear him in the k'tan. The yoga ball saves me when my feet start hurting. :)

    I don't... but maybe I'll get one.
  • I want to sleep! LO is passed out and just threw herself off the boob, but every time I try to move she wakes up and starts screaming and rooting like she hasn't eaten for days. I just want even a little cat nap. Please baby.

Tried to sing "you are my sunshine" to LO as I nursed him at bedtime.
    Bawled my freaking eyes out.

Will I always be this emotional?! I never used to be...

  • The child has been asleep for almost two hours and has gone 4.5hrs without food... He has never gone more than 4hrs. This is nearly unheard of. I am tempting fate by starting a 20min pump session because someone positioned her nursing pads incorrectly and still woke up in a small puddle.

    Motherhood is so glamorous!!
  • Success! I put LO down and she let me sleep for almost 2 hours!

  • DD ended up in the swing and I ended up on the couch thanks to DH's insane snoring. It was waking her up. And I just went in there to change her diaper because I was out of them out here, even her wailing from that didn't wake him.

If he wakes up and tells me he's tired I may commit murder....
  • Whyyyyy does my baby stay up for 1-2 hours for night feedings? He's 4 weeks old and I give him 4 oz. He *sometimes* seems hungry after still....I'm afraid to over feed him. Is anyone else giving their LOs more than this at this age? I hope he doesn't make this a thing. Everyone seems surprised when I say how long he's awake for, is this not normal? Edit - by over feed I mean making him puke which I've done twice now by giving him too much. :(

I don't know how normal it is but my DD would do this when she was an infant. We ended up bedsharing until she grew out of it.

  • Thanks @mamrotu73‌ I might have to pick something up today. He was way worse yesterday day, it was coming out both ends so if he isn't back to normal tomorrow I may take him in to make sure he isn't actually sick. He seems to have a very sensitive stomach so thats why I'm assuming it was food related, we had to suddenly change foods when we couldn't find his normal kind.

  • Dani, I was starting to wonder the same thing - if an hour is too long. That's pretty much the norm for my baby. I was hoping/thinking that they'll become more "efficient" as they get older. Eat, burp, eat, burp, done. I don't have a problem with getting her back to sleep though. I have the opposite problem. Often times she falls asleep and won't wake up enough to continue eating.

And I was wondering also: wouldn't babies stop eating when they're full, as long as you take a break to burp them and let what they've eaten so far settle? I BF, and my baby girl has only spat up a few times after eating so I couldn't tell if it was from overeating or not.
