Has anyone had luck with the gumdrop pacis? Ellie took a Soothie for the first week but spits it out now and I'm wondering if she just needs a smaller nipple? Here's a pic. I'm thinking of buying them at BRU tomorrow... I have basically every brand and she doesn't like any of them.
I have those ones - because the color was cute. But, she won't take them. Although, my baby isn't the best resource for a good pacifier.
@KendraColeslaw do you have the 0-3 soothies? I picked up the bigger size by mistake they other day. I didn't realize they came in two different sizes.
I think I've come to the conclusion that my right nipple was just not made for breast feeding. Penny hates the right boob. I am feeling completely empty on the left and she kept popping off and freaking but wouldn't latch on the right until I gave in to the nipple shield. We've been weening off and this is the first time in 2 days we've had to use it

I'm beginning to think my left isn't going to cut it. The good thing is your body will adjust & you can feed your child completely from one side. I was so relieved to learn that...
I feel really guilty about giving the paci before 4 weeks. I had the best of intentions, but my child is a super-sucker & my nipples were shredded. Cue bad mommy music (To be clear, I DO NOT think anyone else is bad for this! It's just my personal mommy guilt because I said I wasn't going to do it and didn't even make it a week without caving during a melt-down)
Yep, hospital gave my guy one too. He's had a binky since the day he was born. No nipple confusion or issues at all. He does gag sometimes when I stick it in, but then he does his mouth all desperate for it that he wants it anyways.
<5lockquote class="Quote" rel="SoulTermination">How's your PP pain, ladies?
I'm 5 weeks PP, had a 4th degree tear, and am mostly okay except when I'm walking slowly or standing still. Then, there's kind of a burning, stretching pain and a feeling of pressure, like everything south of the bottom of my rib cage still wants to fall out. Just wanting to know if others are experiencing the same, or if I should bring it up as a major concern at my 6 week appointment on the 23rd. x.x;;
I'm 8 weeks pp and still have a lot of pressure if I do too much. Just saw the dr and he said it was normal. It was probably around 4-5 ish weeks when I stopped having pain. I had a 3rd degree tear if that makes a difference.
I'm so obsessed with this stupid Aden and Anais bamboo swaddle. It's seriously big enough to use as my own blanket. I got it as a gift and went to order some online because I love it so much.... Holy expensive!!! Might have to save for a bit and splurge on the actual adult sized blanket. Hey if DH can spend like 70 bucks a week on his damn Nicorette spray then I should be able to have a blanket right?!

HOLY CRAP! $150 for a BLANKET! I am way too cheap to ever be able to justify that but it certainly would be nice! So soft!
So DH and I were making out during our "shift change" time...baby asleep in crib, I just woke up from a good 5 hour sleep and all is well in the world. Ummm totally sprung a leak on him because that's what happens when you haven't pumped in over 6hrs. He wasn't phased because he thought I was just sweaty. WTF?? Moral of the story: I apparently need to take a time out to pump before we get frisky in the future! I'm 4 weeks PP, you think I would have learned by now.
I think dd knew I was stressed out and exhausted. She just pulled her very first 4 hr stretch. Granted she was only asleep for 3 of those hours but DH was here to be with her while I slept the entire time. I feel wonderful!
@Stace0616 this happened to me too. Making out and I touched his chest and it was all wet. I asked if he was sweating and he said no. Proceeded to kiss some more moved my hands again and felt more wet. "Um babe it's ok if your sweating you can tell me it's just really wet" he laughed and was like "well I would tell you but it's not me your leaking which totally doesn't bother me"
LO has a stuffy nose and a crusty eye... . Had her pedi appointment yesterday and cried all the way tgere and cleared herself out. Pedi wasn't concerned.

Ugh I know!! I might have to leave it as a Christmas present. DH is always stumped as to what to get me. And it's 170 for me because we get to pay a premium up here in Canada land! At least we make the big oil bucks in Alberta! Haha

We gave a paci the first hour we were home from the hospital. Gotta do what ya gotta do
Why do my boobs look so good? Then I peed on a stick...

Saline drops and snot sucker. They hate it but it helps them breathe easier.
I could never get the hang of the snot sucker with my DD. Tried the saline and bulb syringe but I think I need to keep trying to perfect my technique.

Dude what's "light activity" for a month old?? I'm not doing tummy time right after a feeding!
Sometimes I'll lay LO down and move his legs, encourage him to kick, make eye contact and move his arms, making accompanying sounds and faces with each movement...much different from my working days of busting balls and tobacco enforcement. Bahaha
Please tell me that both "Ball buster" and "Tobacco Enforcer" are on your resume...
Hi ladies I've been a creepy RTT lurker since having my baby so I hope you don't mind me joining in on the pacifier talk. LO loves Soothies but couldn't keep them in so I got a Wubbanub. It's been our saving grace! She's almost 7 weeks and now grabs it to keep it in her mouth so I don't have to keep popping it back in.
Sorry if I intruded. You all have adorable babies!
Okay, this goes under the file of "Lucrative ways RTTers can make money" along with the side table fridge (and a million other things we've thought of but don't exist for some inane reason).

I asked DH if the sex store would have silicone boobs we could just get...but he thought it would look bad in public pacifying our child with a sex toy.

James is one month old today and I'm getting all emotional that he is getting older. He was super fussy this morning and being all annoying until he passed out laying on my chest. I can't get anything done around the house, but looked down at him and realized that there are only so many days where my chest is his favorite place to sleep. Can I just freeze him this size? Like he can still learn to sleep through the night and talk, but I want him to stay this little and snuggly forever
Re: Longest Thread EVER! (aka Random Thoughts Thread )
DD (almost four) goes NUTS on Benadryl. I gave it to her one time when she was sick. It works the opposite on her. Like she's on crack!
