Re: Longest Thread EVER! (aka Random Thoughts Thread )

  • DH: "she always sleeps when I hold her"

Me: "ummm ok, I don't think that'll help"

(an hour and 45 minutes later still awake)

Nothing puts a kid to sleep like comfort sucking on the boob and I just wasted an hour and 45 minutes of my life.

I made Tommy an email address so I could send emails and stuff to him etc. and have been considering making a FB too....

We have emails for both kids as well. Several of my friends have seperate FB pages for their kids.
  • Hubster came home and had an anxiety attack because I had been napping hard and he couldn't get ahold of me. I can't do this. I have nobody to help me. I feel so freaking alone. I can't have any needs because they're just a burden so they go on the back burner. Merri needs me and that's all I can focus on. I'm starting to take all of this stress out on myself with negative, self defeating thoughts. I want to run away but I can't and know that won't accomplish anything. Crap in a hand basket this is rough. Sorry for the all-over-the-place rant.

  • Oh @PoppySeedWindsor‌ that is rough. Has your DH sought professional help yet? It sounds like he may need some. In no way should you be dealing with him like that. And your needs shouldn't be on the back burner. You need to take care of yourself just as much as you need to take care of Merri.
  • @Emily041285‌ he was getting professional help when we lived in Portland and has said he will start again. He makes me feel like the bad guy because I suggest...and now demand...that he gets help. I can support him but I can't be his therapist.

You're right you can't. He's wrong to make you feel like the bad guy but if that's what it takes to get him to seek help then so be it. He needs it not only for himself but for the ladies in his life.

This is very true. Thank you for chatting so late at night. I think I finally got the LO asleep. She's on my chest right now. If I didn't have freaking heat rash id let her stay on me, but I should put her in her bassinet. I should also go to our bed but I'm having a hard time wanting to. I want to use her as an excuse to stay out on the sofa. So you know, that's good...already putting my daughter in the middle of our shit. Bleh.

  • Fingers crossed, but we may have had the most seamless night feeding yet. It appears that DS fell right back to sleep after!! Ask me in the morning if he stayed asleep or if it was too good to be true....

Aiden finally just passed out after his 4:30 feeding... On me... I just can't figure this kid out - his sleep "schedule" is so screwed up I have no idea how to help him get back to good!

  • This has probably been asked but: has/is anyone on the Mirena birth control? If so do you like it? If you chose not to use this, why?

  • So much pain when LO initially latches on. Keeps getting worse. I know it's supposed to get better at some point. I need that to be now...

Oh, and it was too good to be true- DS was a faker and would NOT go back to sleep. Ended up having to ask DH to help, then he couldn't fall back to sleep. When he finally felt tired enough to come back to bed (4:45), DS needed to get up again. DH offered to feed him, but I reminded him that if he did he wouldn't get any more sleep before work.
    Ughhhhhh.

Singing my song...and now I think I have mastitis. Pure. Fucking. Misery. Like to the point I was sobbing and cursing a blue streak at 230am.

My only advice? Get with a lactation consultant ASAP if you continue to feel a lot of pain. I was waiting until our regular appointment Friday and after last night had to come in this morning at 730 and just beg someone to look at me. I was having noticeably more pain on the left than the right...and that's where I think I have mastitis now. Don't let yourself get to this point!!
  • Only took 13 days for DS to try and "help", and subsequently drop DD despite my yelling "NO!" Repeatedly as I ran around the couch to stop him. Thankfully she was in her bouncer and didn't fall very fall. Oy.

Oh gosh. Glad everything is ok. At least it was a fall because her big brother wanted to help and not because he was a jealous toddler lol
  • Dani he's so damn cute!!!
  • Its not even 10 am and I'm already done with today. My house smells like dog crap, dog had diarrhea while I was gone this morning, and I have appointments this afternoon so I wont even be home long enough to get everything cleaned up. Pretty much feeding Logan right now then have to get DD from school....then I wont be home until 5pm. I'll be lucky if I even eat today.

  • WWRTT do? My DS likes to sleep with the blanket up to his mouth. Mostly he likes to bring his hand to his face. When I move the blanket he wakes up. I only let him do this in the daytime when I'm around and always check that he's breathing. Would you leave it or just wrap his legs so he doesn't do this?
DD likes to do that, too. It makes me very nervous so I swaddle her under her arms (keeping them free) so the blanket stays away from her face.
