@Laura8388@amdecker1016 I got him to sleep and put him in his swing near DH and told him to call me when LO woke up. I got 4 swipes done. I give up. It's supposed to rain all week and we leave for the beach Friday evening so it'll be at least next Sunday before we can really get to it.
Also, my baby rolled from front to back today for the first time.
It was kind if cause we were doing tummy time and his noggin is so big and he kind of fell sideways and rolled all the way over, but whatever! I'll take it!
Keira's head is long and she's used it to leverage herself over before too . That was the only time she's rolled over. Owen is still 1 1/2 lbs smaller than she is and he started rolling consistently from front to back this week. He's small but mighty .
Am I really the only one here ok with not celebrating mother's day?....
I'm happy just to spend time with DH and for us to cook a nice meal. We had steak, lobster and asparagus with roasted potatoes all done on the BBQ. We tidied the house, put up my new curtains (that I got for my birthday last week). I don't feel today was different than any other day I get to spend with my family. I love my husband.
Do you guys believe that babies can see the "spirits" of people who have passed? I'm laying on the floor next to Ryke and he's smiling and cooing and telling stories, facing away from me. He's staring at the same spot on the wall. There's no one there.
I don't know what I believe, but id like to think it's my gran paying him a visit
I believe this. My family talks about it all the time
We do FaceTime and Skype. We FaceTime my brother and FIL who live in other states.
Joe Skypes his mom a lot at night while I'm doing my nightly ritual of pumping, showering, getting stuff ready for the night/next day and he is on baby duty.
@Laura8388 and @FarmBoysWife looks like I will be joining you on the baby getting food front. DS1 tried to feed Owen a small pretzel stick today when we stepped out of the room. We have no idea if he got any of it and wouldn't have known if DS1 hadn't come to tell us what he did. At least he did that much right! He said Owen looked hungry.
My 1.5 year old tries to give LO whatever snack he has these days. Goldfish, crackers, cheese, fruit. He also tries to share his toys. The rattles, building blocks,... Very cute.
@Laura8388 DS1 has been waving at someone at the end of the hall since he was 4-5 months old. (Now 17 months). Our cat watches something up the stairs.
I keep saying its my mom. (I have no feeling that its her specifically, but I do believe in ghosts, though I've never 'seen' one)
I had an awesome day today, and the weather was perfect. We had a BBQ at my MIL's and we hung out on the back porch drinking wine. Then we met up with mom and other family members and got ice cream.
We got home and Joe was holding the baby while I cleaned. He felt bad I was cleaning, but I was so excited to get it done. My uncle is coming up from FL and he, my grandparents and some other family members are coming over tomorrow.
@bunnyfungo omg glad that you and the girls are ok!
@Laura8388 yes I think that LO's can see spirits, and it totally freaks me out! My dad passed away 1 week before BFP and Colton stares at the same spot all of the time and it's freaky. Nate(mh) says its my dad he is seeing.
Yikes run on sentences but it's late and I am sleepy I-)
I traded one baby for another. I got LO to sleep and put him in his swing because my sick hubby needed snuggled. Poor guy has a 100* fever and has been throwing up all day.
I've stayed away from this thread before now because I've been intimidated by it, but I'm up stressing out and decided to dive in. Clearly I've missed a lot. @blonderedhead - I hope everything is ok with your mom!
Is the google docs spreadsheet with names just for the FB group or is it for this board? How do I/can I view it? And how to I add my info?
Hmm milk production seems to be down this AM, I wonder why? Maybe I didn't drink enough water. Damn I need something else to be thinking about at 5:30 in the morning, oh yeah like sleep!
@addisonsmom22 - it's going to be 84 here in Boston too. My AC unit isn't set up and DH is at work. We'll be finding somewhere to go today. I also miss spring. Where are my sunny days in the 70s?
@coreyeliz... I would go to the mall or something but there have been several shootings and stuff going on at the malls here so I'd rather not. Stupid people taking my fun away.
I heard about that. Horrible! I guess it can happen anywhere, but so far my area's in the clear.
@DisneyAddict1 I looked it up, because there is a 6 month wait for a consultation to see a urologist for a vasectomy. DH is still waiting. I wasn't going to have a tubal since I've already had a few major surgeries, but this is less invasive, so I read about it.
I think I'd be willing,...(I only have 1 Fallopian tube). But I'd rather DH get a vasectomy.
I looked into Essure, but it was taken off the table for me right away. If you have had any surgery on your tubes you can't have it done. So I think I will do and IUD, when I get the courage to go in and not worry about it effect my milk.
Has one considered getting the essure procedure? Or known anyone that got it and was satisfied with it? Considering this as an option but I'm not sure with all the mixed reviews I've read.
I was also considering this but decided against it because of the 3 months of having to be on bc pills.
@Blonderedhead781 My grandma also had TIAs. I know every case is different, but her's never turned into strokes and never left her with any long term symptoms.
She just has to take blood pressure medication as a result.
@Cmmo14 That lady sucks. Yeah, your priority should be fun in the car over safety. That'll serve him well throughout life. People are idiots. I hope that DS lets it go soon.
@Blonderedhead781 I hope this is just an isolated incident (if thats even possible) and that it doesnt lead to a stroke. Scary stuff
So my right boob is on milk production overload. I pumped for less than 10 minutes and filled a 5 oz bottle. And I could have kept going. This is so weird, I haven't been nursing this side more than the left. Getting engorged after only two hours has not been fun the past two days.
I want that problem. I think I'm going to have to start supplementing soon. I just can't pump as much as he needs. I have a small freezer stash from when he was tiny but I've only got about 15 ounces left. I just pumped and got 2 ounces combined.
@babylimas I'm sorry. I've been supplementing from almost the beginning - and even working on my supply with almost everything...I've never pumped more than 11 oz in a day. It totally sucks, but I keep reminding myself that any amount of BM is better than none.
So, why is it that rocking/bouncing/patting while sitting is sooo different than rocking/bouncing/patting while standing? Seriously kid, I don't want to pace the house all day and you need to nap. Thank god for my new ring sling. I'm super in love with it.

I could have written this post exactly! I feed evenly on both sides, but ol' righty is an overproducer. I pump 4-5 oz on that side then stop (even though it isn't empty.) it's crazy and giant compared to little old lefty. : p
Pretty sure my LO had his first legit nightmare this morning. He was fussing a little and shaking his head back and forth and acting like he was trying to say "mom" then all of a sudden started crying hard core but was still asleep through all of it. I tried to soothe him and it worked for a minute then he started again so I snuggled him. poor baby boy
Yes, there's a weight max, but there's usually a height max as well on the bucket.
When I had DD she out grew hers height-wise by 6 months. (Still really light though)
DS1's seat has a higher height max (12 years newer). He outgrew his by about 6 months as well. (He's still below the weight as he's only 21 lbs currently)
DS2 is using DS1's seat. I suspect he will be over the height by 6 months as well. He's a tall kid.
@DisneyAddict1 thank you for asking! I was about to post. My h thinks that its time for us to put her in the convertible. I think we can go a few more months in the bucket seat. She's only 23" tall, pretty sure we are good for a while!
Re: The Randomest Thread
I live near Kansas City and I've been telling DH we need to prep an area for us to go if there's a tornado, especially if I'm by myself.
We had steak, lobster and asparagus with roasted potatoes all done on the BBQ. We tidied the house, put up my new curtains (that I got for my birthday last week).

Him: "Hey, it's Mother's Day."
Me: "Yup."
Neither of our mothers expect or want anything more than a phone call on Mother's Day, so we're similarly low-key.
@mrsdahamm fx your husband feels better soon
Is the google docs spreadsheet with names just for the FB group or is it for this board? How do I/can I view it? And how to I add my info?
@Jt7dreamz is this something your husband could do so you don't have to be involved?
