  • @boraborababy sending all the good vibes today!

@tundrabunny, man, I had a similar experience today. I just woke up in a bad mood and started bitching at DH for every single thing he did. He was in a good mood, which just made me angrier. On the way to work I started realizing what a brat I was being but he was already mad at me. I think I'll shoot an ILY text, too.

  • @tourqeyes Whaaa? Why not? What does he say when you bring it up?
He laughs and changes the subject. He knows I'm not joking. He can't suck it up apparently and do me a solid.

And this is why I just get waxed.  Shaving is too tedious, and I'm not about to ask DH to help out with it.  We would both rather pay someone else to help me out with that (it's not like I'm about to go helping him with is manscaping either).
  • Has anyone been to The Melting Pot? I've been wanting to go because I heard its fun, but I can't eat as much now that I'm pregnant. Its pretty expensive and I don't want it to be a waste. Do you get a ton of food? I'd love to do cheese fondu, entrée, and then dessert.

My 5 year wedding anniversary is in two weeks and DH and I talked about having my parents watch DS so we can just do something alone. Maybe a couples massage. There's a place that does prenatal massage that is very near a Melting Pot.

I LOVE Melting Pot but, you are right, it is expensive  I wouldn't call it a ton of food, but if you want cheese, entree and dessert, there is going to be a decent amount if shared between two people.    Also plan on dinner taking much longer than usual, about 1.5-2 hours, since you are cooking things as you eat it.

Their cheese fondues are fantastic.  I would also recommend some sort of broth fondue for your entree, unless you have an iron stomach.  If I ordered something with oil, I would be so sick before the night was over.

DH and I actually own a fondue pot, and will DIY fondue, mostly, because we can get lobster, chicken, and nice cuts of beef for less than it costs to go out.  We have done fordue for several of our anniversaries.
The long meal time is part of the appeal for me. I think a nice, relaxing, leisurely dinner would be nice. My meals now are either at work at my desk, squeezed in during DS's nap time, or eating as a family with DS. There is nothing fun about a nightly dinner with a toddler who is getting picker and likes to throw the unwanted food on the floor.

For the price and time commitment of the Melting Pot, I'd rather go to a really good steakhouse, or something that's not quite so "common."  I can't think of a better way to phrase that.  The Melting Pot is a chain.  For our special nights out, we try to hit up local places that are unique and haven't been duplicated.  We also live in a major city, though, so we have lots of options and I'm sure that skews it for us.

  • @likeanoldtimemovie‌, I'm so sorry. She sounds like she'll be the worst type of family to raise kids with. I hope you have many miles between you.
  • Litera, I'm totally waving my fist at you.
  • Just found out my MIL made herself very comfortable while we were gone. It was 78 in our apartment and I asked if she was burning up and she said she just hung out in her underwear. WTAF!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sitting on our furniture in your UNDERWEAR?!?! @LiteraChick‌ your trade offer still good? Am I overreacting? And she wonders why we don't want her living with us!!!!

My FIL used to hang out in his boxers in our 1 bedroom apartment when he visited. WHEN I WAS HOME TOO. I had to ask DH to say something to him for me.
Granted, once he got sick, I had no problem helping him get to the bathroom, etc and saw even more of him then I ever needed to, but totally different circumstances.

I feel so awful. My stomach is so sore from Noah's activities today, I've developed an annoying cough then top that off with nausea and the discovery of my first hemorrhoid :(( Can I just go to bed right now?

edit: Let's add throwing up everything but my shoes to that list. I'm going to bed & hope to be back to "normal" tomorrow.

Two things - University at Buffalo is my alma mater and we are by no means a big football school, and I am so excited that Kahlil Mack just went #5 in the NFL draft. Congrats dude and Go UB!!!!

Secondly, I just found out my mom and dad both took the week off after my due date. Argghhhh. My mom went 9 days later with me and TWENTY FOUR days late with my brother... She said shed be really mad if I went late. I said dont be mad at me! I totally see even August in my future and I wish she hadnt pulled the trigger so soon!
  • Apparently I can't poop unless I am putzing on my phone. It relaxes me. The last 2 times I've tried to go "alone," I totally can't. I need the distraction. I can't believe it's come to this.

  • My darn computer charger broke about a month ago. I found that out as my laptop was just about to die. The sad part is the only thing really inspiring me to get the charger is so that I can actually upload big pictures to the bump again. Even that, however, has not inspired me to get it until maybe this weekend. Maybe. I'm at that fuckless stage in my pregnancy.

  • I almost cried twice yesterday.

    1. Mcdonalds gave me a fish sandwich instead of a southern chicken sandwich. It was right before our childbirth class, so we did not have time to go back. I was so pissed off that I actually used the receipt and did the survery thing online to bitch them out.

    2. About an hour later we were doing the hospital tour and the nurse started talking about how they usually put the baby on the Mom's stomach right after the birth and I got all teary eyed thinking that might be us in a few months.

    Hormones.

    hi

  • @BoraBoraBaby I'll help if I can use one of these
