Friend: haha that's not quite what I was going to say me: right, but the gist is something that i don't think i need to hear right now Friend: yikes ok
Clearly I am not fit for human consumption.
No that's a shitty thing to say to a pregnant woman. HAHAH MOTHERS DAY MADE ME REALIZE MY LIFE IS BETTER THAN YOURS. Except what she really wanted to say is "I am going to tell you my life is fabulous but I totally want want everyone else has".
Plus @aliletz she was totally leading with those comments. Like she wanted you to ask more so she could say it. Nice "friend."
@purpleXdandelion I know, she does that a lot- and normally I don't bite but because of the mood I'm in, I knew she was about to piss me off and I was ready to snipe her, so I took the bait.
So MIL and future SIL were discussing my shower, and I brought up a suggestion from an aunt - instead of having someone write down all the gifts, get blank address labels to write the guests names on and stick it right on the box. They both look at me blankly and say well the thing to do now is have everyone write down their address for you on your thank you envelope! I fake smiled at them and stopped participating... and later complained to my mom that they wanted that and it was lazy, and she said... thats what Im planning on too! So make sure your thank you notes are with you! SMH...

This is even worse than having people write their address on their thank you envelope. At least if they write it on an envelope you can re-write it to show that you took the time? But shouldn't your hostess be able to provide you with addresses if they are sending invitations? ****** My understanding was that rather than the hostesses write all the gifts on a notepad, have the hostesses write the gift givers name on the label and slap it on the box. I could be wrong though. Plus, I think it's more work to do the label thing cuz sometimes people give you lots of little items. That's a lot of labels and writing.
What I did for my baby and bridal showers was have my hostesses (well actually my sister since she was sitting next to me helping with gifts) write what guests gave me on the back of that guests card. It worked nicely.

No no no the point of this was just so i could look on the outside of the box, say oh, aunt lisa! And see what was in the box, and then go write my thank you. The persons name would be stuck to the box so it couldnt get misplaced (like an envelope) and whoever was helping me keep track wouldnt have to hurry and write down every single thing that came out of the box. It would just be an address label so it would stick, not so it would have an address. I thought it was a good idea, since at my bridal shower I had a really hard time with some of the handwriting afterward.

What a bitch. Sorry I just called your friend a bitch!
My next OB appointment is in an hour. I'm having some anxiety about my blood pressure being high since it was a little bit high during my last appointment. I think I need to work on my breathing exercises so that it doesn't become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Good luck! I do this too! I usually have them check it at the end of the appt if it is high at the beginning!

I do this ALL the time...it's the worst. My doctor did a lot to help me get over it, so it's less of a problem now, but that "white coat syndrome" is a real thing.
I just ordered some custom wooden letters for Emma's name for the nursery from an artist on Etsy. I'm so excited! I hope they turn out as nice as I think they will!
Ohh what seller? I bought letters for DS from LettersForYou that turned out awesome. I'll be ordering some for this little guy from her again.

AllysCustomArt - she got good reviews and I liked her examples. I have high hopes here.
We had major plans to basically tackle the entire nursery this weekend since DH is going to be mostly gone the next few weeks. In the end we emptied the closet, removed the closet doors, painted the walls and put up crown molding. Clearly paint and crown molding are the most important parts of making a space for a tiny human, right?! ;-)
I think I'll need to order one of those Thirty One totes like @aliletz because we're clearly not going to have a crib any time soon!
Speaking of etsy, I ordered a hat for baby girl...these little hats are how we announced DS's name to "the world" and will do the same for her. This seller contacted me to ask about thread colors and even did a sample. So far, I'm very impressed with her
Had an OB appt. today - blood pressure was good, protein was good, baby's heartbeat was good, baby was active - yay! My weight gain for the past 2 weeks was a bit higher than they would have liked, and my fundal height increased by 3+ inches in just 2 weeks, so the OB wants me to have an ultrasound to check on things. I, stupidly, googled this, and now I am extremely worried about the baby retaining too much liquid, or for some sort of abnormal growth to be happening.
I don't know how I'm going to last 2 weeks until the ultrasound! Can you all pray that he's just a big baby, or went through a sudden growth spurt?
Friends and internet strangers.... Can we all just agree that the word "and" is a short enough word that it does not need to be abbreviated? It drives me crazy, crazy, crazy when people abbreviate "and" to "an" or "n". It's 3 letters y'all. If it's really that difficult, even an "&" would be better.
I had a doctor's appointment today. I told her I was wondering how baby was situated in there so she felt me up and told me where everything was at. Exciting, because the big bump I keep pushing in up by my ribs that I thought was a butt is, in fact, a butt.

Ha same here! I felt DS mostly sliding his arms and legs around, while this little guy just sticks out his butt all day.

I'm measuring nearly 6 weeks ahead, and am also going for an extra ultrasound, which the doctor prefaced with "It's always the case that the big guy (he's 6'2") hooks up with the tiny girl (5'3" when I stretch a bit), they make a baby and then are surprised when the baby is huge. You two need to SERIOUSLY prepare that you're probably going to have to have a C-section." All this to the poor girl who did yoga for childbirth classes, has her trusty birth ball, and read Ina May like it was the manual for life. Oh well. It's not like I didn't know that none of the babies on his side (he's oldest of 6) were under 10 lbs. But yeah, I get the twin comments all the time, and everyone has decided that I'm not really due July 20th because I couldn't possibly be this big. I'm with you, let's just vote for big babies!
Got to the hospital last night and the nurse came running up to me, LOL. The doctor decided to take Alexander off of CPAP entirely! No nasal prongs at all anymore I'm so happy for Alex, because he HATED that thing and was constantly pulling it out. So far, he has been doing great without it!
Annnnnd here is a pic, because I can finally see his whole face the entire time!
@eadams08 He's sooo sweet. I'm so excited to hear his progress, thanks for updating us!!
I keep having dreams that I can see LO through my belly. Last night I dreamt that he put his hand up to my belly and it became translucent so I could see him- he had an extra finger, which freaked me out, so I ran to the interwebs and read that babies can have extra fingers in utero that help them with a sense of direction, but are shed prior to birth. Also, I saw this big round thing which I thought was his head, but turned out to be his belly with a big bellybutton.
@eadams08 Yay! Go, sweet boy, go! That's so awesome!
Despite the stress of DH being out of work for five weeks, I have to admit that I'm kind of loving having him around. His job requires a lot of long hours (He leaves the house at 3am and is, usually, home around 7pm) and he is always WIPED when he's here. These weeks off have really helped us to reconnect with lots of movies, snuggling on the couch and going out to do things together. Part of me wishes this had happened after Alice was born so he could enjoy five weeks with his new daughter, but c'est la vie, right?
Having said all of that... today, he's going fishing with his best friend and OH MY GOD I GET TO SIT ALONE IN MY HOUSE. Today is the first day in over three weeks that I won't hear "Hey, babe? I'm hungry."

I have died every day waiting for you. Darling, don't be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years. And all along I believed I would find you, time has brought your heart to me. I have loved you for a thousand years. I'll love you a thousand more.
Also, is anyone else having major tingly hands/fingers? I know that pregnancy carpal tunnel is a thing, but it woke me up in pain last night. My midwife never said anything about sleeping on my back being bad, so I continue to do it because it's more comfortable and because every time I'm on my side, my hands ACHE and go numb. It's driving me crazy.

Haha is your DH pregnant too? Mine has done some mindless things recently and he blames it on his pregnancy.
