One of my coworkers had a baby last November and she had switched daycares 6 times since she returned to work in late January. The first 3 were unlicensed in-home daycares so I don't blame her, but the last three have been for the following reasons: one of the employees was young and had no children, her baby got a cold, and the other children were sick.
YOUR KID WILL GET SICK IF HE/SHE IS IN DAYCARE. It's inevitable. Unless you hire an in-home nanny/babysitter, your child is going to catch a cold. It's frustrating because she tries to instill her same "keep my kid in a bubble" mentality on me and I'm not a believer in keeping my baby quarantined.

Yup. It's my birthday, and I'll cry if I want to... Lol.
(Actually that was yesterday when DD and I had a fight...preteen is tough)
DS1 who is almost 6 is infatuated with a neighbor girl who is 11. Yesterday he picked flowers from our yard and gave them to her as he asked her to marry him. Cutest thing ever!
Married 11/23/11, TTC starting 10/12, BFP#1 11/30/12, Adoption of stepson finalized 03/19/13,Loss of our daughter at 20w4d due to incompetent cervix 03/27/13, BFP#2 06/28/13, DS2 born 3/1/14.
Holy. Shit. We got an offer on the house! It's $19,000 lower than asking so we are going to counter offer. But still! They wrote a letter to our realtor saying that when they walked in the door, they felt like they were home.
Good luck!

I found fenugreek seed in my pantry and since last night have had two teaspoons softened in hot water for ten minutes. Just shot milk across the room with my lazy boob! It shocked me, I jumped and gasped lol
Good luck to all the mamas and babes with shots today. Fallyn is 2mo exactly but we moved her apt to the 12th so my H could be there was well.
@LoveatCowles spending time with your family as you move close is a good thing, in in way does that mean you put them first. Find a happy balance. Let your H know that you, he and your lo are he priority , but your sibs are not far behind. A lot of people would give anything just to talk to their families one a week. If you all are lucky enough to have family near by take full advantage of it

Went into work today aaaaaand it was a madhouse. My replacement is incompetent and today my boss had to spend time with her while they were in crisis mode....now he's getting rid of her. Thank goodness. That girl was the worst!
But that means I'm going to have to come back and train another new girl.
I'm lonely.
Dh is training a new guy who will be is relief, so he is crazy busy at work, and doesn't have cell service when he leaves the rig. So we haven't even talked in two days, he just texts to say goodnight when he is leaving the rig
BUT he works a half shift tonight (6pm-midnight) then sleeps for a few hours then is on his way home!!! He will be home Thursday afternoon. I can't wait!
AND a good friend of mine just moved back to canada and we are going for lunch tomorrow, I'm excited
He's gone for a month at a time right? I don't know how you do it Yay for him coming home this week!!
I've got to figure out a better way to burp LO... he's entered the spit-up phase and it doesn't matter what I use to catch the spit up, when I burp him on my shoulder it 9 times out of 10 the spit up rolls off the burp cloth and onto me! This last time I used a blanket... nope... still somehow found a way to get on my arm. Not to mention it also runs down into his chest and ruins his outfit. If people could see me feed my son they'd laugh.. i'm leaking, squirty, and he's spitting! Pandemonium! lol
@Laura8388 yay for your H heading home!! Mine is on a 7day stretch. 40 is the most we've ever done but I would at least get to see him for an hour or so in passing in the am's I don't know how you do it!
My baby has a 100* fever (forehead) but is acting completely fine. He just felt hot so I checked it. I think I'm gonna break out the recital thermometer
DH is at his hockey game. This is the first night he's gone out since Isla was born. Actually other than him going to work, or one of us running a quick errand, this is our first time apart since she was born.
I'm fine. About to go to bed and she's awake but quiet in her bassinet. It's just weird.
Love tits for everyone, because I'm sleep deprived, and oddly happy.
Mia finally pooped for the first time in days, and is sleeping soundly with her mouth still on the boob, propped up by my arm and the Boppy. I dare not move. .____.
Dinner tonight ought to be interesting. I kind of just threw some stuff together in tin foil and put it in the oven. Chicken breast with butter, pepper, garlic, salt, red/yellow/orange peppers, mushrooms, and onions. Still haven't decided if I want to make pasta to go with it or not...
And since it's the random thread, and I can: my stomach hurts. I don't know why.
I nursed Robert 2 hours ago... He has yet to go down for a nap. He usually eats every 3 hours like clockwork... So it looks like he wants to skip this nap... I hope this doesn't result in a crazy night.... Scared momma here lol
@FarmBoysWife Good for you! I think you're making the right choice... Even before you went on maternity leave it seemed like your job and some of your superiors were hellish. Get out of there as fast as you can!
Now I'm freaking out. 100 is the highest his temp has ever been and it came out if nowhere. I gave him a bath like I was already about to, and now his temporal temperature is mid 98*
The reason I'm freaking out is h had epilepsy as a baby that started as a high fever. I know high fevers can cause the odd seizure, but he swears it went on after the fever. So... Yeah... I might not sleep tonight.

Is he acting ok? For piece of mind you could put a call out to the doctor. I hope he is ok and you two get some sleep tonight.
@ProudMommy030614 he's acting completely normal. It almost seems like he just got hot, but he had had a poopsplosion about 10 minutes before and DH left him in just a diaper since I was going to bathe him anyway. So he was just in a diaper and wrapped in a blanket right before I felt him. Probably just babies being babies (jbbb)
B had the biggest poop of her life, and I was at rehearsal so DH was left to fend for himself. All I got was a text that read "I had to clean her and the car seat. It was a 13 wipe job".
I'm going to be hearing about that one for awhile (:|
@WisconsinCheese12 i could have wrote that as well. My H said yesterday "i almost came home from wal-mart because i smelled her and knew she pooped..." At least he did change her. I would have been livid if he came home just for me to change a poop diaper.
@FarmBoysWife good for you! I am glad and hope that you stepping down/your H getting a better job will be easy!
Also, being terrified of getting pregnant again is for the birds. I have to explain to DH every time that I suck at taking the minipill on time and that it is different from the birth control I was on for ten years while we didn't get pregnant. And it's so much messier to pull and pray (in addition to the minipill).
That's my tmi for the day.
Except also, I have only done half of my squats for today, but now I've applied my hemorrhoid ointment (gross) so I'm afraid to do the rest.

Eli's bumbo came today and after DH opened it, Jacob (who is almost 6) sat in it. I know he's a small kid, but dang! Haha.
RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me.
You made my wedding day complete.
But that means I'm going to have to come back and train another new girl.
Is nesting finally hitting me?

I don't know how you do it!
Nurse in the cramped back seat of the car (car seat is in the middle). Or take bottles.
Eta rectal temp was 99.3
