it's finally fire weather here! We move our furniture around between summer and winter to get the best out of our living area, so while I napped today, hubby set everything up so we could enjoy the fire...
I forgot you're in the Southern Hemisphere! I was thinking yeah it's fire weather here, too. But not like nice cozy fireplace fire. Like wildfires. Crazy wind and heat and Southern California goes up in flames!
yep, we get cosy fires now wildfires (bush fires) are horrible. We didn't have a bad season locally, but down south did this year. I hope everyone there stays safe - they are so scary!
That's what my DH does. He's a wildland firefighter. I don't know how he does it.
Is there a way to look up members without clicking on their name if they've posted, or tagged?
I was tagging mrscase in a thread the other day and a different name came up (you know how suggestions come up now) and I just have this feeling it's someone I know irl... I want to spy but don't know how to do so discreetly.
If anyone needs a nursing cover I got this promo in my email today:
Thanks for posting this! I just ordered a nursing cover (saved $35) and used the same code on their sister site to get the carseat canopy (saved $50). I'm excited!
Thanks @nelleebelle! It worked however this was not the person I thought it was going to be. Too bad, that would have been fun drama (for me at least)!
I have been waiting for some nesting to kick in because the dresser in my room is buried in clothes and I just haven't had the motivation to dig it out. But today, I made a casserole, cooked some fish, baked pork chops, I just took a cake out of the oven and a pan of brownies just went in. So, apparently my nesting isn't to clean but to cook like crazy... :-S
@nelleebelle my amazon-ing has been out of control. If I see something is recommended for baby or postpartum, it goes in the cart. It's like my nesting is all channeled into shopping.
@nelleebelle and @elsa1688 - me too! Amazon Prime is a dangerous thing. I seriously ordered JUST witch hazel the other day. And then something else completely random the next day. DH hasn't commented yet, but I'm waiting...
I had put a bunch of items as "saved for later" and went in and purchased all like 30 things (cloth diapers, witch hazel, random small things). I have prime but assumed they would be grouped. Nope- I got 8 separate packages. I was so embarrassed picking them up from the front office of our building. Don't mind me and my obvious online shopping problem!
I had such a painful Friday & Saturday. But yesterday was totally pain and ache free. I already posted about all of the cooking I did, which wiped my energy but after a few cat naps I was even able to get on the TreadClimber for a few minutes. Went to bed thinking I'd pay for all of that this morning. Nope, doing good so far (knock on wood). And my ankles stayed normal sized all day! All day! Wonder what my Monday will bring now that I'm in back in the office.
So this is a weird question, which I do plan on talking to the doctor about, but right now Dr. Google is just confusing me. I'm 1.5 cm dilated. Am I still ok to have sex? And orgasm? I've also been having contractions that I don't feel, they show on the NST's. I'm only 32 weeks so I'm not trying to induce labor. I know the sperm can soften the cervix so I'll have DH use a condom (like the old days awww) but couldn't an orgasm cause contractions?
I was told sex is okay as long as your water hasn't broken. But really, if sex actually induced labor, wouldn't pregnant women be told to abstain their whole pregnancies? I always questioned that haha. I went to 41+2 with my daughter and sex never helped!
YOU GUISE! after months of trying, my RCS is finally scheduled!!! little man will officially be here on June 5 if he decides to wait that long. that is one month from today. 31 days. shit just got real.

I have a minimum of 10 packages coming this week - DH works from home and the dogs go BSC every time a delivery person comes, so I feel kind of bad.
Oh, and I haven't even placed my massive few hundred dollar amazon order yet. Oh lord.
i am so excited to put in my massive amazon order! I just got my registry completion bonus code and am strategizing the best use of it. My cart is heavily weighed down already, plus I have a whole wish list of random "wants for baby" that were too gift-grabby to put on the registry. Decisions, decisions...
Ditto. I think it's been three or so months and it was painful soooooooo next time will prob be six weeks pp. I have the urge but when it comes down to dtd I have zero interest, poor dh
Ladies, ladies, ladies. I don't really care to do it either, honestly we've DTD maybe three times this whole pregnancy. It's just that DH has been pouting lately, not because of the absence of sex, but I can tell he is feeling left out. For instance, our only niece (his sisters daughter- shes almost 2) used to be attached to his hip. They were best buddies. The more pregnant I am, the more she wants me over him. I keep telling him she just senses the "mommy vibes" I'm giving, and she's just going through a stage, but I think it's really hurting him. Plus we just had the shower, and of course everyone was all over me and I think he just feels a little shunned. And he's handsy. Which is annoying.
The only reason I'm even considering DTD is because I've had some dreams lately where I've woken up all "hot to trot." So I guess a little libido is returning?? I just miss the intimacy with DH and I know it would do us both some good.
Any ideas how to make him feel more included in other ways? I've scheduled all my NSTs this month so he can attend, and our birth classes start this month too. Maybe that'll help? I hate seeing him down in the dumps.
I'm on pelvic rest and it sucks ass, but there are ways to be intimate other than sex. Go out on a date night, give him a massage, fix his favorite dinner or pick up something sweet for him, (not to be crude) give him a BJ lol... August 14 has tips and tricks for that one apparently
If you're like me, being sweet to hubby is not high on the priority list when you're dying and miserable, but you just gotta do it. Let him know he's important and even if you can't/don't want to do the sexytime, have one on one time with him that let's him know you appreciate him. Tell him what a good husband he is and how you're excited to see him be a father, all that good stuff!
Oh and to include hubby, I let him think he's making decisions regarding the baby stuff lol. For instance, I'll buy something I like and then ask him where he thinks it should go. I really don't care, I just like the damn thing, but he thinks he's doing something very important and whatnot. I've laid out my hospital clothes and let him pack them for me, since "I'm going to need you after birth when I'm totally out of it". It's the little things that make people feel important.
I'm beyond happy and hopefully I'm right but, I think my LO finally flipped head down!!!!!!!! I'm not 100% BUT he has the hiccups right now and normally I feel them above or right on my belly button, and right now I'm feeling them really low!! Like where my bladder and on my vag haha I have an appt on Thursday so I'll find out then for sure. But for now I'm going to be excited! Whoohooo!!!!
@mommyp710 - He is so cute! Please keep sharing pics. It makes me forget about the whole labor and delivery thing I have ahead of me!!!
@cMichelle0423 - I feel hiccups really low all the time and my LO is head down. Sounds like gravity won and he's head down. Of course I'm no expert, but that's where I always feel the hiccups. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
June 2014 - June Siggy Challenge - Favorite Hottie
@mullenem if the musty smell is getting to you you could always wash the washer. I know the sell "washer wash" and you just run the washer through a cycle empty with this detergent in there. I use baking soda and vinegar when ours starts to smell funky.
Ditto. I also use this concoction to strip towels in the wash - so many uses!
