@modernfairytale8709 Congratulations on your weight loss? Did you really go from ovulating on day 176 to ovulating on day 19? I wasn't sure If I read that right. I'm not trying to lose weight but I am trying to get healthier and cut down my cycles. My last cycle lasted 51 days. What is your typical diet, if you don't mind me asking? It's too soon to tell if my gluten/dairy/soy/nut free diet is working but If this cycle is still as long, then obviously it's not.
I'll introduce myself here as well. My husband and I are both 32 and have been TTC since February 2012. I am from Brooklyn, NY and i'm now living in Staten Island, NY. I'm a social worker and I work for a large non profit...I have PCOS with very wonky hormone levels throughout my cycle. You can see in my siggy that I did 6 IUI's which all failed. I'm currently on a break to try to get healthy before pursuing IVF. I'll be going to a different/new RE for IVF. I wish everyone luck!!
Me and DH: 32, TTC since 2/2012
Dx: lean PCOS, low hormone levels, 2 CP's before seeing RE, MTHFR heterozygous
IUI #1 with clomid and ovidrel: BFN
IUI #2 with clomid (unresponsive), femara, ovidrel and novarel: Possible CP
IUI #3 with femara, ovidrel and novarel: BFN

I have been lurking... I suppose it is time to introduce myself!
My husband and I live in Minnesota and have been married for about 16 months. I work for a beauty company and my husband is a Finance Manager. I am 29, he is 35. We have a rescue named Murphy that we baby like no other. He just turned one last month and is the sweetest little guy ever.
I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 18. (PCOS is a b*tch) We have been trying since last July. We went to an RE in January and it was a horrifying experience. (The RE basically told me he wouldn't work with me unless I got gastric bypass) We were able to get an appointment with our new awesome RE last month and are just finishing our first medicated cycle (Clomid and Ovidrel). I have been on Metformin (500 ER) for about 6 months. Husband's SA came back okay. Slightly low motility and terrible morphology. Our RE isn't too concerned about the morphology. He started taking Fertilaid a few weeks ago.
Fingers are crossed that I ovulated today.. Now comes the wait!
We are really new to all of this and are trying to be stay positive. I feel like we have so much to learn!
It's nice to "meet" everyone!
Me: 31 | DH: 37 Married January 12, 2013 TTC since July 2013 Fertility Treatments January 2014 - June 2015 Took a break to prepare for IVF Surprise BFP - September 2015 - MMC at 6 weeks, 5 days Another surprise BFP - November 2015 - EDD: July 8th!
@JadziaDax I really did go from ovulating on CD 176 to CD19 in one cycle. I'm as shocked and amazed as you are. I really try to limit my diet to:
No refined sugars(or fake sugar substitutes. I use Organic leaf stevia)
Carbs only from vegetable and limited fruits(berries, melons, and apples--fruits that have a low impact on the glycemic index)
Healthy meats--if you can't afford to go all organic and grass fed, at least try to make your beef organic, because these are the most likely to contain added hormones that will mess with your cycle.
Loads of water, often seasoned with cucumbers, sweet mint, apple cinnamon, or citrus.
Nuts, including nut butters in moderation
Organic dairy products--I've found this change to be the most beneficial. It really cuts down on the amount of hormones in products I can't live without, including cheese and butter.
I'm not currently eating grains, whole or otherwise, unless it's a "cheat" day. I found I always, always feel terrible after indulging in gluten-heavy foods.
In addition, I've been supplementing Vitex since January, following the dosage directions on the label. I've recently started berberine to help with my IR, but it's too early to tell if that had an affect.
At this point, I'm thinking my cycle is normalizing because I've lost almost 10% of my body weight in the past 4 months.
Hello! I'm glad to have a chance to introduce myself. I'm 31, and my wife is 34. My wife gave birth to a healthy baby girl a year ago, and she is a joy. I've been trying to get pregnant through a fertility clinic without any success. My AMH is low and I have some cysts, but otherwise everything looks ok. I've had four unsuccessful IUIs so far. I've naturally produced two mature follicles on two of those cycles, but still no luck. I'm on Day 4 of IUI attempt number 5. The clinic called yesterday, and said that my estrogen was "high," so I'm back at the clinic tomorrow to re-test. I'm a little scared because what I've found online suggests high estrogen on day 3 can mean that the egg quality is poor. Has anyone else had a problem with high estrogen? If this cycle does not work, I'm likely going to try one more cycle with Clomid, then move to IVF.
Official diagnosis: Unexplained IF.
I am 32. I have low ovarian reserve (low AMH), and poor egg quality. I've also been diagnosed with mild glandular developmental arrest (lining problems, detected with EFT).
We are using open ID donor sperm.
IUIs #1-7=BFN.
IVF September 2014 antagonist protocol, 8R,5M,3F, 5 day transfer of 1 morula = BFN. IVF#2 planned for January 2015 (antagonist protocol + HGH).
@modernfairytale8709 Thank you for the information! I really appreciate it. I follow a very similar diet but I'll eat carbs at times as long as they are gluten free. If I have a sandwich, I'll use only one piece of gluten free bread rather than 2. I'm going to ask my Dr. about Vitex... Congratulations again on the weight loss and ovulation!!!

I thought I'd re-intro, as I enjoyed reading all of yours! ***losses mentioned***
I'm Tumbleweed, I live in the Northeast and turned 38 in December @calindi I think we share the same bday!
During the last four years, DH and I have had two losses. After my December loss, I started seeing a great RE in early January. She diagnosed me with PCOS, Hypothyroid, MTHFR, low vitamin D and did an operative hysteroscopy to remove polyps. We did one IUI with her, but it was a BFN. We had planned to do two more IUIs with her, then move on to IVF. Unfortunately, that RE stopped taking my insurance and I need to move to a new RE. (My insurance doesn't cover everything, but it does help.) I have an appointment with the new RE on Tuesday. (Yay!) I'm looking forward to meeting him, getting a new set of eyes on my situation, and moving forward with a new plan. I've read good things about the new RE, and that feels great.
For fun, I like to run, though my RE has asked me to drastically cut down how much I run. I can't say that's been easy. I've been trying to do more yoga.
I got a BFN late last night, which sucks, but the good thing is that I'll be seeing my new RE on CD3 and that might save me a whole cycle of waiting for the next step! Anyway, happy Sunday everyone! During the last four years, I've been through all the horrible ups and downs of IF. My heart goes out to all of you who are here on this journey. You all have brought me so much comfort/hope/support!
Hi! Great idea! I spend most of my time on TTCAL, but venture over here pretty often. I live in California, have been married for 3 years as of December. I am 30, MH is 31 and we both work in healthcare.
I took out my nuva ring at the end of the cycle after we got married and started TTC the cycle after that (March 2011). It took almost a year and a half to conceive, but it didn't last long as it ended in a blighted ovum. Conceived again and that ended in a MMC.
I was referred to an RE after my second loss and all the testing revealed that I had an endometrial polyp that I had removed last June. We've been actively TTC since then with 3 failed femara/TI cycles and one failed femara/inject/IUI cycle. My insurance makes me wait to get authorization for starting cycles, so it looks like we're going to be doing every other cycle as long as I'm doing injects.
Edited to fix typo
TTC #1 since March 2011

Hey all, I've been lurking here on the bump since we've started ttc 2 years ago. I'm from central ct and I think I introduced over here back in Sept with a question but never quite stuck around to make friends. We're diagnosed mfi by our RE and dh has been seeing a urologist specializing in male infertility. He has been taking anastrozole for his elevated estrogen levels for 4 months and will be going for an SA on Friday to see if his numbers have improved. If not we may or may not be going for IUI's because I think the stress of trying every month may be taking a toll on me and I might need a break soon. Just wanted to pop in to let you ladies know you're awesome in how you help and support each other.
Me 26 DH 31. Off oral contraception since 1/2012. Actively TTC # 1 since 4/2012. CD3 bloodwork, hsg normal 6/2013. SA performed 7/2013 - low count, low motility. First RE appointment 9/4/2013. Were told SA not good enough for IUI. Repeat SA and additional bloodwork ordered. RE suggests DH see a urologist. http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/3e32d9/thumb.png
