BMaidPlanner - so far today I've eaten a croissant, a doughnut, yogurt, mint milano cookies, fruit and some tootsie rolls. You are so not alone! The folks staffing the pastry counter at the grocery store by my office are starting to recognize me, and I never walk away with just one doughnut - that would be a waste of a trip. Need one for later, yo!

krptcmschfmkrl128 - black licorice totally sucks

nutmegs8 - as a victim of the identical outfit trend as a kid, I hate it too! Twins, I get, but my sister and I are 2 years apart!

jshrop - I love and miss my high heels too! I bought some kitten heels to wear a couple times while pregnant and they made me so happy.

eta - spelling. not so good today.

I feel like we totes run into each other without knowing it at various baked goods locations.  Do you work in the loop?
West Loop, yes! I'm sometimes in the Loop proper, but the Mariano's in Greek Town is my doughnut dealer.

Haha it's totally flammable! I've never worn it but I saw it in a kid rock video and then at a store and had to buy it.

@flerlgirl‌ my husband still gets those comments! He has the most amazing lashes. I just hope our little girl inherits them :)
DS gets them from my husband, too! I always thought mine were long until I met DH; his are like a unicorn kissed his eyelids and whispered beautiful lashes on them. So I hope LO gets them, too! If not we will just not love her as much. Meh.
That was a very poetic comparison.  I might have to use it in my language arts class :)

My UO: Georgia just signed a "guns everywhere" bill that allows folks to carry concealed EVERYWHERE! Including bars, churches, and schools (as long as they have proper "authority"- whatever that means). I am a multiple gun owner, I enjoy target shooting, I even sleep with one on the nightstand. I am not in favor of this bill.... Especially the guns in bars issue. Cause you know, nothing goes together better than concealed handguns and booze. I see a lot more people getting hurt in this situation.

The bar thing, totally has me terrified. Wow.
    Me too.

Are they going to have the ability to individually post "no weapons" signs?  This is technically how the law reads in AZ too (and you don't even have to have a permit to carry concealed).  However, individual businesses have the option to disallow weapons in their establishment if they post a sign at every entry.  I've never seen a bar here that doesn't have a sign posted.

I believe so? I know that is the current rule for places where you can carry concealed in GA. So even if they expand I think businesses can still ask you not to bring your weapon inside. Not 100% sure on that, though.

Ummm even as pro gun as I am this sounds a little nuts. Guns and alcohol are not a good combination.

Also if you are carrying and want to go inside a business that bans carrying is there some kind of "gun check" system? Give me your glock and here is a little paper ticket...

    -----------------
Yea I'm pro-gun as well, but I'm not quite sure I'd be ok with hanging out in a bar with a bunch of people carrying guns. Just sounds like a bad combo.

@joules235‌ the gun check idea kinda made me snicker. Mostly because I pictured this well dressed guy (like the coat check guys at theaters or fancy places) saying your comment about the Glock lol

@satrimm lmao! I wish. I'm from the PNW but I'm really a southern girl at heart.

The PNW actually has a surprising amount of country girls.

  • Admittedly, I haven't read a whole lot about it, but what I have read is a giant "WTF, I don't get it"...the whole Nevada rancher dude.  Why the fuck is he getting any support?
  • @Pepper6‌ WTF??????? I hadn't heard anything about this. His family is saying his words were twisted? I'm not sure how you can take some of this out if context.... https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory/nevada-rancher-bundy-condemned-racist-remarks-23457303

Yeah, seriously, fuck this guy.  Even the whole premise that he somehow thinks he's above grazing fees...I just have no clue why the hell anyone is supporting him to the extent that they've organized an armed militia to protect his cattle.  This whole thing is so confusing to me that people are arguing
for his case.  Blows my mind...
  • LoHerrim said:
@Pepper6‌ I *think* people are upset there's even a grazing fee being charged on "public land" and that the BLM is trying to take over the public land by strong arming the ranchers. It isn't just the guy in Nevada. There's another rancher in Texas on the Oklahoma border who has paid all his taxes/fees and his family has OWNED the land for over 100 years. Blm is trying to take it over too. There's more to the story than just this one rancher.

This makes a little more sense.  Like I said, I hadn't heard a whole lot of the details, but what had been presented made no sense.

However, this dude is still an assmuncher
  • @joules235‌, I love you- that gif is amazing. Nobody I know knows that musical and I think it is amazing.

It annoys me when parents dress their children in identical outfits.
My mom used to do that when we went out because if one of my brothers got lost she'd automatically know how to describe what they were wearing since she gets frazzled easily, LOL.

I will (open first and then) eat all your peeps. That way we can stay friends.
    That works for me! :)

Well, I approved it so that's all that counts!!!! (Lol jk)

I don't think it should necessarily be focused solely around weight loss. I think more of a set a goal and meet it and if it happens to be weight loss, so be it. My vision would be less about the numbers and more about health and wellness.
Don't we already have this in the Born to Run thread?

  • Along the lines of @LoHerrim‌, I feel the only way to eat an Oreo is stale (or in a milkshake). I will open a package for a day or two and let them get chewy and stale before I eat them.

@curlylocks3‌ I thought that was for runners and focused on mileage ect. I'm not crazy about running. I'm more into strength training programs

Idk (I haven't read it in a long time since I've been banned from running). Just seems like we'd end up with quite a few threads focused on weight and exercise and that doesn't seem terribly healthy IMO.

I'm not really a marshmallow person... And then add the sugar coating and it's even worse!
  • @saltypearl‌ - given the info, I can see how it would be irritating and I was by no means saying that the behavior doesn't happen. I just think your first statement (without details) was a blanket statement. No hard feelings... I don't know that I would be able to put up with that frat-house behavior that can happen.

Yuck! I can ONLY eat them fresh. I will throw out a package that's been open longer than a day.
