I am obsessed with losing the baby weight and am already planning how I am going to do it. I hate my body right now and am doing the planning to have something to look forward to.
Post-partum bodies are rough to deal with... I tried WW after DD to lose the baby weight and it was incredible. I'd never done a really regimented "diet plan" before, but I was a big fan. They have a plan for both full-time breastfeeding moms and moms who supplement. So smart!
I plan on starting it when this LO is about 6 weeks old. I waited until 3 mos last time, and I think it was too long.
It feels good to have control of your body again. I think you're smart for thinking about it now.
@JNerd - I am obsessed with getting my body back too! Makes me feel better that I am not the only one. I have a new gym scoped out and can't wait to get the "all-clear" to start working out again.
My UO: I hate high heels. I hate that clicking sound as people are walking down the hall in high heels. I hate how I roll my ankle everytime I wear them. I just really hate everything about them. Maybe it is because I lived in Alaska for so long and high heels are just not worn there, rain boots are the high heels of Alaska (and sooo much more comfortable). But mostly it is that clicking sound, I want to trip my office manager every time I hear her clicking down the hall.
I hate when people who claim to totally adore their pets (esp. Dogs) can ONLYsay how annoying they are as soon as their baby is born. I know that time and energy is limited in supply, but those pets become treated so poorly in some families. (this may not seem unpopular now, buy I know SO many new mothers that have admitted to this!)
You don't have kids yet, do you?
Haha no I don't! I know our dog will get less attention when the baby is here. But she has been with me through some of my darkest moments, and DH & I have discussed how we want her still involved. (And if that changes, I promise to report back in 6 months that I've become one of "those" moms!!! Lol)
@erind228 when my daughter was about 4 months old, I was getting her out of the car and another car came flying into the spot next to me. I shut the door because I thought she was going to slam into it. Well, the doors had already locked and my keys were sitting on top of the car seat. I immediately started crying and the woman got out of her car and said "oh that sucks". If I hadn't been concerned about my baby locked in my car I think I would have chased her down and smacked her.
aw hellz naw. I would have flipped out. And I agree, erin - you seriously can't park one space over? I will give you a candy bar to give you a sugar boost to make it the extra ten feet.
I was at the mall the other day with DS. He was already in the car. It was pouring down rain and I was trying to get his stroller to fold up. It sticks sometimes and I tire out kind of fast and for the life of me could not get this stroller to fold up. A couple of families walk by and I get some sympathetic smiles. Then a guy walks past me and stops. I'm thinking, "yay, maybe some help!" He looks at me, looks at the stroller, looks over at my van (where DS is crying bc he thinks I am never returning), and says, "This is why I am never having kids." AND THEN WALKED AWAY. I almost beat him over the head with the stroller. Don't help if you don't want to but I could have done without the comment. Jerkface.
Fuck that lady in ohyeahlovely's situation and fuck that guy in flerl's. Oh my god, they are both total assholes.
Yep. All of what she said. Also I probably would have lost my shit on these people!

I hate when people wear them and can't walk in them. I don't mind the clicking but what I can't stand in the clomping. I swear most of the women at work have this problem. Clomp clomp clomp down the hall. Clomp clomp clomp up the stairs. It drives me insane. My blood pressure is rising just think about it.
My UO: Georgia just signed a "guns everywhere" bill that allows folks to carry concealed EVERYWHERE! Including bars, churches, and schools (as long as they have proper "authority"- whatever that means). I am a multiple gun owner, I enjoy target shooting, I even sleep with one on the nightstand. I am not in favor of this bill.... Especially the guns in bars issue. Cause you know, nothing goes together better than concealed handguns and booze. I see a lot more people getting hurt in this situation.

also certain parts of the airport. because that's an awesome idea.

Lol. I luuuuuurvee my heels. I would live in them if I could. I miss them so damn much it isn't even funny.

It annoys me when parents dress their children in identical outfits.
I wish I could of loved your comment over and over. I mean if there twins then I can see occasionally doing it especially when there babies cause its cute but it drives me nuts when the kids are completely different ages. I have 2 different family members that do it all the time and it makes my BP rise trying to keep my comments to myself.
My UO is when the UO board gets stuck on one topic over and over. I think last Thursday it was breastfeeding or something like that. After page 4 I stopped reading it
Junk food...sign me up! Most healthier stuff turns my stomach to the 9000th degree. I actually kind of miss yogurt but this child does not like that at all and I feel like crap for hours after eating it now.
UO: I don't find 99.9% of firefighters attractive. They are juvenile, self indulgent man hoes that tend to be low on the intellect scale.
The only ones I find attractive are the ones who keep their mouths shut..then I can occasionally admire the "pretty"
My dad was a firefighter, and is now fire commissioner of his district. The guys in his house were mostly his age with not a lot of younger guys so they were always really nice. DH was a firefighter, and he falls into the "quite attractive firefighter" category (IMO ) but some guys in his old house were JERKS.
Since moving to a much smaller town with a small fire department (where most of the guys are older) I honestly think they're really nice. The younger ones are really attractive too, but I've never heard any of them talk but our neighbor is the fire inspector and he said the young guys are good. But I agree a lot of young fire fighters act like hot shots and it's such a turn off
I think Persnickety and Matilda Jane make the ugliest children's clothes. They look like someone's quilting rag bag threw up. What is up with all of those ruffles???
@cdk211 - there were a few choice words on the tip of my tongue but one of the families I'd seen earlier was still getting into their car and they had a couple kids… I figured they wouldn't appreciate the education on every bad word in the dictionary and some made-up ones, too. But I did squish his head with my thumb and finger as he walked away.
My UO is I think it's a waste of time to make my bed. I usually only do it when I wash our sheets, have spare time in the morning or when people are coming over.
I want a boob job when I'm done nursing this baby. I am already looking at how tobsave up for this, regardless of becoming a sahm and having one salary and needing to pay off debt. I used to love my boobs, and now I have pancakes. i hate them and don't feel attractive.
Also, junk food is my life. I eat a protein and fruit or veggie with each meal, but all else is a free for all.
@nutsmegs8 I live under a rock, what show is that with the kids?
My UOs: My twins will be dressed alike sometimes. Because they're cuuute! But I'm trying to buy more 'coordinating' outfits than 'matchy matchy' outfits.
I think the majority of women don't need makeup. And that the majority of women don't know how to correctly apply makeup.
I don't understand people who refuse hand me downs and used stuff in general. But I kinda like them, since they then turn around and sell their brand new hardly used shit for me to buy for cheap!
@katekat8721 - I am refusing hand me downs for a couple of reasons.
1 - I have too many already from DD, and since she was team green, lots of stuff is neutral.
2 - I live in a tiny place and don't have room to store stuff.
3 - (And most annoying) My Mom and MIL canNOT control themselves when it comes to buying clothes for LOs, so if I accepted hand me downs, I'd have enough for 3-4 babies. I've told them to chill out, but they don't listen. I am grateful, yet annoyed

@BMaidPlanner - so far today I've eaten a croissant, a doughnut, yogurt, mint milano cookies, fruit and some tootsie rolls. You are so not alone! The folks staffing the pastry counter at the grocery store by my office are starting to recognize me, and I never walk away with just one doughnut - that would be a waste of a trip. Need one for later, yo!
@BMaidPlanner don't worry my friend I am a horrific unhealthy eater and pregnancy only seems to make it worse. my diet consists of fast food, frozen dinners, and cereal (and not the grown up healthy cereal but the sugary delicious children's cereal a la cocoa puffs). today I have eaten exactly 4 Reese's peanut butter eggs for lunch and they were delicious and I'm not sorry. :P

@brighteyes112 nooo way. But let's be honest, my kids are probably going to live in onesies awhile lol. When we're out doing something that requires more cuteness (pics or whatever) is when they'd be coordinating, but I wouldn't freak if one of them messes up their outfit and they don't 'match' anymore.
@BMaidPlanner you are not alone...I eat junk too. Usually whatever is convenient when I decide it's finally time to eat. I miss the days when I had a craving (for anything). Lately I only eat because I know I need to feed LO. Most foods healthy or otherwise repulse me for the last 2 weeks. The only item I've been able to consistently eat and mostly enjoy has been plain Ruffles potato chips.
THIS. No cravings, eat because I have to, so hard to stomach healthy food. I think our pregnancy symptoms are twinsies right now!

Are they going to have the ability to individually post "no weapons" signs? This is technically how the law reads in AZ too (and you don't even have to have a permit to carry concealed). However, individual businesses have the option to disallow weapons in their establishment if they post a sign at every entry. I've never seen a bar here that doesn't have a sign posted.
I find it annoying when people see a picture of a cute little boy or girl and they say "oh, he/she will be a heartbreaker!" Is it a good thing to be a heartbreaker?
NOT a UO: You have all made me feel SO much better. Didn't realize how down on myself I was feeling about the food thing until I was no longer feeling it. BUMP LOVE FOR EVERYONE!

This. people say that to me all the time about DS because he has blue eyes and long eye lashes that I am insanely jealous of. I do not want my son to break hearts! no no no he will be respectful and sweet and a gentleman.

Privately owned establishments can ban them, I'm just worried about who will and won't. We already had one shooting in a bar recently and that was before you were allowed to carry. This law goes into effect 7/1.

krptcmschfmkrl128 - black licorice totally sucks
nutmegs8 - as a victim of the identical outfit trend as a kid, I hate it too! Twins, I get, but my sister and I are 2 years apart!
jshrop - I love and miss my high heels too! I bought some kitten heels to wear a couple times while pregnant and they made me so happy.
eta - spelling. not so good today.

I'm with you on this. Would everyone hate it if we started a weekly "check-in" PP? I'm going to want/need support beyond my friend who is already planning my PP workouts (she's 22, adorable, and super chipper and fit-- I may want to kill her)

Everybody loves my 2 1/2 yr old sons eyebrows which is gets from his dad. But there first comment is always they look so perfect do you draw them on? And it's like seriously!?! Why would I draw eyebrows on just so they were perfect?

I believe so? I know that is the current rule for places where you can carry concealed in GA. So even if they expand I think businesses can still ask you not to bring your weapon inside. Not 100% sure on that, though.

This made me lol, because DS gets similar comments about his lashes. He also gets a lot of "your lashes are too long for a boy!" Well, the thing is… he is already a boy… and I'm not really sure what you want us to do about it.
@flerlgirl my husband still gets those comments! He has the most amazing lashes. I just hope our little girl inherits them
DS gets them from my husband, too! I always thought mine were long until I met DH; his are like a unicorn kissed his eyelids and whispered beautiful lashes on them. So I hope LO gets them, too! If not we will just not love her as much. Meh.
As a response to the discussion re weight and someone asking if it would annoy people if there was a PP check in...I honestly don't see it as being as annoying as a "how much weight have you gained so far" thread, and the purpose of it would be much healthier. It would serve as more of a motivation rather than a place to a. Humblebrag b. Compare yourself to others
It could be more of a "what is your specific goal and what are you doing to get there and how are you doing on meeting your goal"
They do this and a work-out check-in on my previous BMB and it works pretty well. It keeps people accountable but no one is obligated to participate or share any info they don't want to.
