  • Woke up bottom lipping it this morning. Had a bad dream I was stuck in a snowstorm and couldn't get to Brom to feed him and he was starving. Effing. Horrible.

They need to hurry up and invent a pleasant dream pill. I'm glad they have one for dudes who can't get it up, but pregnant woman anxiety seems like it should be priority 1.
    :(

I have dreams where I wake up hysterical crying if it is about my husband or DS. They are the absolute worse and I can't shake them right away.

Our 7yo is in the middle of her first softball season and is LOVING it. Currently watching A League of Their Own with her and it's blowing her mind. "Women played BASEBALL?!"

I love doing this stuff with her. This is why I have no issue with her love for American Girl dolls. It makes me weepy to see her so into history and great pastimes.

I loved the American girl stories growing up! I'm old enough now that they discontinued some of the originals (gosh have they really been around 20+ years?) but I think you might still be able to get the books? Samantha and Felicity were my favs. :)
I had the Samantha doll growing up! I credit those books with my love of history and how I know so much random trivia. They were my favorite!

Our girl has the Caroline doll from the War of 1812. She loooooooves it.

I have died every day waiting for you. Darling, don't be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years. And all along I believed I would find you, time has brought your heart to me. I have loved you for a thousand years. I'll love you a thousand more.

I loved the American Girl stories too, and then I read this about what the new dolls and stories are all about and it makes me so sad.

  • So, I think I we're finally getting close to coming up with a name for our little one. I told DH that I wanted to come up with a name within the next couple of weeks (he agreed but I think it's bc I finally called him out on dragging his feet about it) and I have also made a compelling agreement for the name I want. I'm kind of hoping he just yields and lets me have the name I want.
  • @LiteraChick‌
That is awesome. I never did get to do that. Your post made me want to run to the store to buy one!
  • I've had a rough, overly emotional day so I started cleaning and packing up my bathroom. I came across the spare pregnancy test I had stashed in the cupboard.

Yeah, it took me about 3 second to pee on that sucker JUST so I could delight in watching the 2 pink lines appear. I figure after all of the years I spent watching them NOT show up, I deserved it.

GUESS WHAT GUISE?! I'M TOTES PREGNANT! SQUEEE!!!!!
    :x :\"> :-B :))
Love this! CONGRATS on your BFP!!

Ok, I'm AWing over here... LO is a tiny copy of DH, and I'm so in love with his little face after getting to see a peek at it for my birthday. :)

He's super cute! but you should edit it so all your info is gone from the top.
Whoops, didn't think of that.. but don't really have a way of fixing it. Oh well, it was done at an elective place far from home, and the internet creepers would have quite a time tracking me down from name alone.

  • DH and I were watching "Man vs. Food" and his challenge was to eat a sandwich that weighed a pound and to drink a SIX POUND MILKSHAKE. The milkshake was disgustingly big. But oddly appetizing at the same time...

  • Just got back from dinner at Bone's (my FAVORITE restaurant in town). For my appetizer: carpaccio! With my filet a lovely glass of red wine and I topped it all off with a delicious dark chocolate torte. Can I have this every week please?
Get rid of all that cow and I'm drooling over the rest :)

So... just had my first irriational hormonal breakdown about this stupid nursery chair.

Is it an $1000 glider that goes with the rest of your nursery that your MIL refuses to buy even though she's buying the rest of the matching pieces of the nursery? ;)
    Edit: spelling
Haha, nope! I obviously like the $1k PBK Rockers. I'm just irritated that I cannot find anything similar for a reasonable price.

What about recreating it? We're turning a reclining armchair we already have into a rocker by simple installing a base piece. It's pretty easy to do. I've seen a lot of people on the internet who used IKEA chairs & added the base. Google will show you a lot of options.
  • I wish the Mobil board had an option to mark all threads as read....
  • I yelled at DH this morning because I couldn't find my water bottle and blamed him because he usually does the dishes. When I got to work this morning it was sitting on my desk. Oops. I guess I should apologize.

I stopped to get gas and when I opened my gas tank, a plastic Easter egg fell out. Its a different type than the ones I have at my house, so I'm assuming one of my nieces of nephews put it there on Sunday. That was an amusing start to my morning.

I'm love titting the second part of the story...that's the kind of story that can give you a chuckle for years to come :)

  • @LiteraChick  Have we started a new Book Club thread?  I was out of town last week and didn't post regularly, so I don't know if I missed something.
  • My bra and panties match today :) I'm feeling pretty good about that.
I'm wearing new panties DH bought me.  Black lacy thong.  Too bad I'm still on pelvic bedrest. :(
  • @missquela‌, after reading Sarah's post about her new home and how exciting that is, I immediately wondered how you guys were doing with the new house. Sounds like everything is going swimmingly :) yay for progress!
  • Ever heard of Sisyphus?  That's me right now.  Still catching up on new hire folders from last week when I was out.  When I came in this morning, there were 12 on my desk.  I have managed to get through 7 so far, yet I still have 12 to go on my desk.  How are they multiplying?

Also, if you read MBF #2 from me yesterday, I ended up leaving at 5.  I was hoping to leave at 3, which would have been an hour early and instead ended up at work an hour later.  I suspect Friday's doctor appointment may "run long."
  • My bra and panties match today :) I'm feeling pretty good about that.

Mine match a lot, but only because 90% of my panties/thongs are flesh toned (albeit lacy and pretty) and all of my bras are too. Occassionally a pink lacy pair finds its way into the stash. I would love to have lots of really pretty bras and panties that come in matching sets! If only...

Can I share a small victory?

I sent home progress reports before spring break and listed work on them that my students hadn't turned in for whatever reason. One particular girl had 3 missing assignments. Her mom emailed me Sunday night implying that her daughter did them and that I didn't record them. I told her politely that we'd check today and if that was the case, I'd take care of it.

We looked at her books. All three pages were in there...completely blank...she never did them.

Mom is a teacher. She tells me the most ridiculous stories of parents! Glad you were vindicated!

I would love it too! :( alas, I focus too much on comfort instead of style.

Story of my life! I buy two bras that I like that are exactly the same and wear them for a year and a half then go back and buy two more. Ad nauseum.

  • So, I want to make a chocolate brownie cake tonight (just because) and I can't decide whether to make it with cherries, Reece's and peanut butter or caramel. Or just go ahead and make all three. Either way, there better be some brownie cake in my belly tonight.

****** If you look earlier in this thread, I posted a link to someone who has a tutorial on it....
    This is effing genius, thanks!
