SAHM: in the beginning before you DH "got it" did he make everything a competition? I swear he pulls the work card all the time. It's extra frustrating because he works 3rd shift so not only am I alone all day while he sleeps I do the nights alone too.
He still gets 7 uninterupted hours of sleep because "he works 12 hour days" I'm ready to punch him in the face!
When he is helping with luke he is amazing. Right now they are doing tummy time without me even asking! But damn I wish I didn't have to compete!
Congrats @ricekez! I wonder how common that is to deliver TWO on their due date! (I think it's time you start to play the lottery). Can't wait to see pictures!
@mamamonzo- DH and I struggled with that too. He never said it directly to me, but he'd make comments that it would be nice if the house was tidier when he got home or why groceries went so fast/never having enough food because I would not go to the store without him. He does work 12-14 hours a day, so I've never bothered waking him up at night since we BF anyway. He didn't realize all the time and energy it took just to feed her, let alone get anything done. So, the first weekend we transitioned to formula, I have him all the responsibility. I would go shopping alone (for clothes) while he struggled getting anything done. "How am I supposed to get things done with a baby in my arms?" He said. That was our breakthrough. He's never again been on a powertrip or asked when I was going to do something. I started crying on Thursday because I've been unable to cook dinner much of the time DS has been home and we've been eating out a lot. He was really encouraging and told me how will I've been doing. It takes time for them to "get over it" I think. Ands with you pumping and BF, a lot of time is consumed. That's huge dedication. So really there is no competition, because you already win seven ways to Sunday. I think their first thought is money, but he couldn't afford to pay you for all you do. It gets easier. The transition sucks, sometimes, and there will probably be arguments, but it gets better.
@Jessieann1020 my gallbladder went like 6 weeks after DS was born, they say it is a common problem after pregnancy. Catching it early is best, I waited like a month and then some stones had gotten out of my gallbladder and I had to have 2 surgeries instead of the one simple surgery
Did anyone watch Fargo? NO SPOILERS REALLY, BUT PROCEED WITH CAUTION: I watched it thinking it would be bad and it wasn't good per say but entertaining. I liked the premise (emasculated male meets dark stranger and gruesome hilarity ensues) but the simple-midwestern-people-thing that was perfectly realistic and comedic in the movie was a little forced and overdone in the show which I found annoying. There is not the same sincerity as the film, but I expected as a series it would be more campy anyhow.
This is totally silly, but we survived our first mall trip! I got her in and out of the stroller with no issues and she was calm while I shopped. I really can so this!
Officially a day overdue, and I am so sleepy and crampy. Gimme my baby. Or at least some chocolate. Preferably in the form of an ice cream sandwich or three.
Also, weird new thing, I have been choking on saliva like, at least once a day. Suddenly I have forgotten how to breathe and swallow properly?

I woke up last night choking on my saliva... Sexy, lol

I've forgotten how to drink water. It goes down the wrong pipe ALL the time and I have coughing/choking fits a couple times a day.
This is me too!! It can happen multiple times even within one sitting of drinking water. It makes me feel like Michael Scott when he's on a phone call and eating that tiramisu.

Ugh. Totally re-thinking our baby name. Doesn't help that I woke up to an EMAIL from my damn mother pleading with me to name my son something "normal" so he can buy cheap trinkets with his name on them when he's on school field trips (seriously?!?! That's your argument?!!?). Someone name my son, please! This is so stressful!
@rockstarlaw I also think the trinket argument isn't worth changing your name over! My name is Chelsea and it was never on trinkets and I never thought twice about it. My brothers names are Evan and Seth and they didn't have many trinkets either. What's your name???
The trinket argument is totally stupid. My mom just wants something in like the top 20, which no offense to anyone who names their child one of those names, but it's just not my style. I want something more unique but not "uniquike" (spelled crazy) or embarrassing to put on a resume. I just don't want him to be one of 6 other boys with the same name in his class.
The other problem is I over-think every name. Our current front runner is Truman. Then I started worrying this morning about naming him after someone who dropped the atomic bomb.....even though it did end WWII and probably saved many OTHER lives.

What's your name?!
My name is Colleen and I only find those stupid trinkets about 75% of the time. My sisters name is Caitlin, even more normal, except apparently the "wrong" spelling. So even though she grew up with a ton of classmates named Caitlin, she never got the trinkets.
The trinket argument is STUPID.
My name is Sarah (super common and popular girl's name) , and I remember only being able to find "Sara" lol

I think because we live in an idiocracy most people will think of the Truman Show before the former president. But either way, you are over thinking it.
In the end it's YOUR baby and YOUR choice. And now days you can get customizable stuff over the internet, so I don't think novelty license plates and personalized pencils are a reason to go with a traditional name if that's not what you want for your child.

If you and your SO like the name you already chose then stick with it
Re: Longest Thread EVER! (aka Random Thoughts Thread )
This makes me feel better though. More to come when I get to hold and see him.

...said no one ever.
Here's hoping it gets LO moving things along today. I've had enough with these shenanigans.

Sorry about the crappy staff
Yeah nah! I've been woken by the helicopter coming in twice - whoever though a helipad on top of the maternity ward was a good idea should be shot!
Its now almost 4am and I'm listening to the babies down the hall crying! I'm in a room on my own but this place isn't that soundproofed.
Oh sleep where are you!

Hi RTT stopping by to hello!
Congrats to the baby mommas this week.
Hugs to those whose utes are being jerks .
After his first shower with dad :x

Don't worry, I feel lost too! So very overwhelmingly wonderful.
