Still no baby. Induction is LONG!!! Asked for morphine 5 hours after being put back on pit. They had the pit at 2 yesterday. They have been gradually increasing it since restarting it this morning. It's currently at 12. Here's hoping for more progress. Baby is doing well in there.
Going in for my 5th NST in a row today. Baby keeps failing them because she will have dips in her heart rate. I keep having progressively worse sleep because I irrationally worry I'm laying the wrong way and making her compress the cord. Here's to hoping she passes the NST today, I think they might want to induce if she doesn't and I really don't want that!
Without realizing I was having a bad day, my very non-pregnant and freaked-out-by-babies best friend in the whole wide world just had this conversation with me that just got to me:
Me: So I had an ultrasound yesterday so they could measure baby and waste my money.
Her: Always shitty to lose money.
Me: Yeah, but it was cool to see that baby didn't have like, deformities or anything. And we got a size and weight estimate.
Her: How big of a whopper are you packing?
Me: Somehow I've got a nine pounder in me. But that's just an estimate. I think it can be around a pound off.
Her: Dude. That's like 9 boxes of butter.
She sure speaks like a pregnant woman :-)
So now that's what I'll be thinking about as I push, push, push...boxes of butter!!
Edited for another weight comparison from friend: "Your baby weighs more than a gallon of milk." Bleh. What a terrible comparison!
Well I guess I should be happy it took 9 months, but someone finally commented (judged) on my choices. I nearly throat punched a 63 year old woman in the kitchen at work when she saw me pouring some coffee and said "you're drinking coffee? Are you allowed to drink coffee" I told he I'm allowed to drink whatever I want, and now I'm feeling stabby. TGIF
Ugh. I feel awful today. Was up late last night steeped in the internet dramz and not sleeping due to bad pre-labor symptoms (nausea, backache, and miserable braxton hicks-that WERE painful even though they say they are not).
Time for a little coffee and a slow start out of bed. I'm officially not leaving my home until hospital time (except Easter at nearby family's house). I think I might finally make my lactation cookies today. Maybe.
I really am in shock about the mod stealing money. Maybe I am naive but I didn't even consider anyone using the donations we made for Beth for anything other than her!! So crazy. And so grateful you all are so sweet and honest.
Side note: do lactation cookies taste good?? I was thinking about making them... Also do you just eat as many as you want or a certain amount per day is needed??
Also started drinking RRL tea last night! I recommend making a vat of it and adding a little sugar, orange slices and over ice! It's pretty refreshing!

I'm assuming that they are a healthyish kind of good. The ingredient they all have in common is oatmeal, so if you like oatmeal cookies...

I drink mine cold with 1/2 lemonade! It's a pregnant palmer!

I miss this thread. I thought I'd have time to catch up when feeding B. But each feeding is a battle...she won't latch unless i use the shield and even then it's super painful. The photographer was here today and I basically cluster fed from 10-1:30. Mama needs a nap.
I blow dried my hair for the first time in 10 days since LO was born and it was fantastic. I look pretty similar to my supermodel alter-ego even in my yoga pants, granny panties, and nursing bra.
I'll really be on a roll if I manage make-up in the near future, but there's really no point trying to cover up the dark circles under my eyes that may not disappear until LO is 18 years old.
Well guys, I've been having contractions every 10 minutes all day and I lost my plug. Sorry, I flushed it before I could take a photo. My EDD is tomorrow. My DS was born on his EDD in Nov, 2011. Maybe I'll have not one but 2 kid born on their due dates. . . That'd be wacky!
Here's my thought on the nipple shield: if it helps your kid eat why does it matter? Our better feedings use the shield and I don't care. If it means she latches and both of us are less stressed I'm all for it. The lc told me she'll get a little big and won't need it, until then I'm rocking the shield whenever I need to and I'm not going to let anyone make me feel bad for using it!
(I know no one here is saying they are bad, but I just wanted to let any of the ladies upset about using one know my thoughts)
I have woken up with hands so swollen that when I bend my fingers one of them subluxes!! Oh the joys of late pregnancy.
I've skipped a lot of posts. @pineconey how you doing? Please tell me there is progress? @deidremaria you too?
6 days over today. Going in for NST. Looking like this induction is going to happen. So much to organise, cat in cattery, accommodation for mum and DH. Why can't she just come now, it would be so much easier!
Angel baby June 2013, DD born 22 April 2014, BFP 10 Sept 2015 - Due 22 May 2016
We're dying Easter eggs, having a nice dinner, I'm having my first glass of wine in almost a year and going take a scorching hot bath. Tonight will be good.
Twirple has had her baby, just posted a thread! Her message: "We have a daughter! She was born at 8:27 this morning. 6 lb 14 oz and 18.5 inches. Her name is Carlene Elizabeth. She is perfect."
Congratulations @twirple! Lots of love to your family!

Update: I haven't heard from @twirple since she messaged me about going into l&d so I assume shes a bit busy.
