Apparently I'm one of the only pregnant women who doesn't get contractions from seeing Captain America in tight Under Armor. Must mean that I'm also one of the few lucky women who won't feel contractions ever....
I didn't go into labor either so at least we can be in the same "Captain America didn't work for me" club.
Sometimes I think men, especially young men who don't have kids yet, have the weirdest ideas about childbirth. I can't count how many young men have made awkward jokes about me not having the baby at work as if that's an actual concern. Um, no, the baby takes a little while to come out and labor is not like BAM! LABOR! BABY! Anyway, @3crazykitties , not sure if that's what your DH is thinking, but I feel for ya.
I definitely dreamed I was doing laundry in the floor (I don't know why everything was under the floor but it was terribly inefficient and frustrating the hell out of me!) and @deidremaria and her SO showed up to take me out to some awesome little island cafe where we shared a bottle of wine (I don't drink but pretty sure it means you should totally have a glass), and a pizza with pesto, feta, and watermelon. I don't know how they made my fave summer salad into a pizza, but it was magical and I'm not asking questions. It's gonna be a good day.
@knotty-girl she's 29 so she probably will have to pay oop. People who don't do research about pregnancy and their options drive me batty. This is a life changing event, not a baby doll!
Also, @3crazykitties, I'm sorry for comparing our DH problems and coming off as an emotionally-daft and insensitive cow. I hope you're able to hang in there. DH will get his head back screwed on and I'm sure everything will work out for you two. Cold feet happen -- it happens with us often but I feel confident we'll be able to figure it out and be at ease once baby is actually here. You always have our support here!
Ugh. DD kicked her iv line out with two doses to go. Now they want to run it in her head because "the veins are so much better there". I'm so upset. I can't handle seeing my child with a needle in her head. And of course this nurse is pushy and DH ran out. I'm just crossing my fingers he gets back before they want to do this.
@JessieAlbin I love it!!! I'm totally buying a bottle of Pinot when I leave this US appointment. It could also mean that the opening of a cafe by SO and I is in the future. That'd be awesome. If we do ever open someplace you must must come.
@Vinny424 she had it in her foot twice do the less than friendly nurse assigned to us this shift wants to try somewhere else. Unfortunately the np we like and advocates for us isn't assigned to us either so I can't go to her. But I think I've worked up enough nerve to tell this nurse no.
DH showed up just as she was about to start and saved the day! I had her talked into trying to put it in the hand and he told her no, we wanted to try the foot first! She backed down and was able to get one in! Of course DD got upset so I started crying and had to walk out.
So so glad there is only 12 more hours of this and then we can go home. Thanks for the support ladies, I really appreciate it.
@3crazykitties I don't think he's trying to be a jerk, it sounds like he's really starting to freak out about this baby now that shits getting real! You just need to have a convo about it, and I'm sure sense will settle in and he'll make it all work. Hang in there.
@aviola329 I cried for hours when they took dd to the nicu. And cried every time we had to leave. Not much help, but I know how you feel. It totally sucks not to have your baby with you all the time. You totally aren't alone in feeling this way!
@aronie82 I'm on mobile and can't see your pics but thankfully DH insisted they try the foot again and she got it. And on the small upside, DD was so upset and crying she wore herself out and is sleeping now.
Ugh took G to the dr today because he was doing crazy amounts of projectile vomiting. I can only feed him for 5 mins at a time today and if he vomits anymore today I have to take him to the hospital so they can check him for a block.
If you haven't spent ANY money on booze in the past, say, 9 months or so it's totally acceptable to lump all of those savings together and blow it on one 6 bottle purchase, right??
I'm just leaving my dr appointment. The US tech, nurse, and receptionist are wagering when I will go into labor. The general consensus is this weekend (gulp)!
My OB offered to sweep my membranes but I declined. I'm excited but I kind of don't want to have the baby until my parents come on the 26th. It's up to Jack though, so we'll see.
Well my own kitchen is a bit sloppy, but DH wrote me a note this morning saying he will clean it this afternoon so I *can't* do anything to it or he will feel awful.

It's my EDD today. Wow! Can't believe how far we've come. I remember getting my nice BFP surprise weeks after the doctors told me I wouldn't be able to conceive for quite some time, and here we are!
Off to get some acupuncture and DH is taking me to see Captain America tonight. Will it send me into labour if I'm not in the country of its origin? Haha! Have a great day all!
@KatieGummow Your boys look like the happiest boys ever! Their smiles make me think it must be the best baby thing ever to grow up with a brother from day one.

Yup. We're headed out of town today to the land of our favorite winery an I will be bringing home all the bottles. We have lots of thank you bottles to buy, too, so it will be quite the haul. Taking orders, ladies!

Fuck growth scans! Baby is measuring at 38 weeks. Obviously that's just an estimation and doesn't mean that I am 38 weeks but shit man! Hopefully we schedule an induction tomorrow
What's everyone doing for Easter? Anyone going places with their new additions? Venturing to church or brunch?? Going to Coachella ??
Normally we host something and I make a huge brunch/go to church..but this year I am thinking we are gonna sit around and eat deviled eggs and ham sandwiches watching a movie.... or maybe if lucky, be in the hospital having a 4/20 baby!

@pineconey my DS saw Amy Poehler on your siggy last night. He starts rubbing my belly and says "Mommy, that lady has a big tummy like you, but she's shakin' hers!"

UO: I'm not very interested in having my baby on Good Friday, Easter, or any of the upcoming holidays. My mom seems to hope it happens but I don't see the big deal with it. It's not like his birthday would be on the holiday the following year.

Hope he is ok. T&Ps

This was one of the hardest parts of LO being in the nicu- hearing other babies and seeing families visiting while I was alone in my room. Big hugs to you.

Me either... But it was entertaining!

And yes, absolutely you should open that awesome little island cafe, @deidremaria!! Mom and pop businesses for the win!
Holy letdown, Batman! No wonder poor Little Miss gags sometimes, I didn't think it was that bad! :-S
