Well sweep was a complete failure. As I suspected, not dilated, not effaced, nothing at all. Sigh. I know I'm only 3 days late atm but with mum only here until next friday I am feeling the pressure to produce this baby sooner rather than later. Even if induced on Monday there are no guarantees she will be here before mum leaves.
Ahhhhhh. Frustrating.
I feel ya- my mom gets here Sunday night. Pressure's on...

Another night of cluster feeding so no sleep for us... Newborn pictures at 10 am what was I thinking??! I can't keep feeding him because he throws up if he over eats. Soothie doesn't stay in his mouth even with the wubbanub. Blah zombie status.

Sorry @chichi589 I have been napping all day in case I am in for more of the same. DD has been feeding for much shorter sessions today so I am worried she is going to make up for it all night again. Cluster feeding is torture.
I just ODed on candy and probably put my baby in a sugar coma. And I ordered some Zooey Deschanel for TH dresses with slightly more restraint because I only got 2. I'm lonely, bored, and unbearably uncomfortable. The candy and shopping were nice distractions, yet fleeting. Sigh.

FFTC: a friend called today to tell me she's 8 weeks pregnant. She proceeds to tell me how they are going to "do the blood test for downs even though there isn't any history so we can find out the sex at 10 weeks". Her DH didn't want to wait. I really wanted to tell her how ridiculous that is. The test isn't for fun. People like that annoy me.
My mom let it slip in front of my 10 year old sister about my miscarriage last July. She knows what it is as her friend's sister had one. I'm just glad I didn't cry when she gave me a hug.
Aww what a sweet and mature response from your sister.

I. can't. even. Can they even do that test at 10 weeks, I thought the blood test was more like 18?? Man I've been told I was impatient for waiting till 20 weeks to find out the sex, but 10???

So I have just heard from my grandparents, who are planning on visiting but haven't said when.
turns out they are waiting to hear baby is here and then was going to make their way up. Glad they are excited but not sure how I feel being inundated with people right away - though it will take them 2 days to get here at least, and they wont stay with us.

Some of the worst offenders for asking "oh, you're past your due date?"' are people with children who have only had scheduled c sections. Seriously. Just because your circumstances meant you knew what day and time your LO was arriving does not mean that there's something wrong with my child for being "late".

@KendraColeslaw DH and I are probably seeing Cap tomorrow, and given that I haven't felt a definite contraction (even BH) this whole pregnancy I think I'll be joining you in that experience.
Also, FULL FREAKING TERM as of today. As a preemie mom I'm pretty sure that's the coolest thing (for me) that I've had the privilege of saying this whole pregnancy.

I feel like saying "A baby is never late, they arrive precisely when they mean to" but I don't think people asking the question are smart enough to understand the reference...
yeah Im getting narky with this question as well.

@avidkeo apparently you can at 10 weeks. I think what irked me the most was that they were only doing it bc he couldn't wait. Second FFWC: I hope she has to pay out of pocket for it...
Apparently I'm one of the only pregnant women who doesn't get contractions from seeing Captain America in tight Under Armor. Must mean that I'm also one of the few lucky women who won't feel contractions ever....
I didn't go into labor either so at least we can be in the same "Captain America didn't work for me" club.
Hugs and kisses to all the RTTs who need it and want it.
I'm so frustrated with hubster this morning. I woke up at 3:30 with, what I'm masochistically hoping is pre-labor nausea. The thought of food --- I can't even go into it and why bother, since you've all been there at least some point in the last nine months. Anyway, I wake up and he gets up with me only to complain that he tweaked his back and isn't able to help me at all. He just whines and complains about it so I get up and give him a freaking back massage while my world is starting to drunk spin. I make it back to sleep just to wake up an hour ago to get him ready for work. I make his freaking lunch while he stays asleep.
Every night I wake up at 3am and my body won't let me go back to sleep until I have a snack. It's like the baby is yanking on the umbilical cord saying "feed me!!" I thought one of the benefits of still being pregnant was that I didn't have to do motn feedings!
Dr Google is an evil thing. G has started puking a lot and it's got quite a projectile arch to it. Dr Google has me all worried now, so I'm braving the Dr office with him and my 2 year old alone.
@ColleenSwerb I don't know. For me it's better to shut the whiney man up and get him on his way and out the door as soon as possible so I can focus on myself and bad talk him while I'm showering instead of to his face.

WTAF! DH just told me that he has a final during my induction! I get that baby could very well come before hand but idk how many times I told him the date my MW was looking at. I asked him to talk to or e-mail his professor about the potential scheduling conflict and see if he could do it earlier but DH is refusing to do that. He is all pissy because he thought the induction would be quick and I would have the baby by 1pm so he could go to class after. And of course while I am trying to talk this out with him, you know to find a date that works better for him (mind you my MW picked that date for a reason!) but he cant deal with this right now. If we need to reschedule the induction I rather it be done sooner than later.
Sorry for the long vent but obviously this isn't a priority for DH!

How old is she? If she is under 35 she will have to pay out of pocket, IF they even let her do it. I'm 34 and I wasn't allowed to do it, they would only do it for patient 35 and up.
IDK if this is his way of dealing with the major life change that is going to happen. This last week he has been very insensitive about virtually everything. I get you were not planning on having a baby yet but guess what? We are!! I think the reality is freaking him out so he is trying to not acknowledge anything or push all of the responsibility on me as to not add to his stress. Whenever I try and to talk to him about it he makes it about himself and acts like I am being over dramatic or selfish. Everyone IRL is telling me he will be fine once the baby comes but as time goes by I am starting to seriously doubt that.

(((Hugs))) I'm really hoping this all blows over!
Double hugs. This puts my dumb hubster BS into perspective. I'm so sorry you're dealing with this @3crazykitties.
This would be way less frustrating if there were even signs that labor is near but nothing!
@deidremaria don't worry too much. With DS, I felt 100% fine and had no signs of labor until the day that he was born. One day soon, you'll be like "holy crap, I'm in labor!" and then you'll have a baby. What I'm saying is, sometimes labor happens fast with no warning.

Here's a formula they don't teach in school: Baby's safe healthy arrival > everything. I'm sorry, but I also can't help but be mad for you. Also after that whole baseball game news story I can't help but get stabby over men treating child birth like its a no-big-deal beauty appointment that can just be rescheduled or rushed for the ease of other obligations.
